In this paper we are dealing with the morphological matrix applied at the selection of the most appropriate solution of the manipulator travel frame design projection. The morphology enables to analyze all the solutions that may occur during both the development and the construction of the equipment. In particular it is useful at the machine and the mechanics constructions. The morphology concerns the analysis and the permutations of any possible solutions of the construction element development. This method is characterized by creation of the prognosis and the partial data matrix formations. Based on the permutations and the combinations of the respective elements characteristics the general characteristic is resulting. The morphological analysis consists of several phases. Initially it is necessary to make the exact description of the examined task. Following is the determination of the characteristic attributes thus the attributes and their combinations what the solution is depending on. Moreover are considering the impact and the effect of the respective parameters and the same their combinations regarding the most applicable solution.

This paper considers nonlinear dynamical networks consisting of individually iISS (integral input-to-state stable) subsystems which are not necessarily ISS (input-to-state stable). Stability criteria for internal and external stability of the networks are developed in view of both necessity and sufficiency. For the sufficiency, we show how we can construct a Lyapunov function of the network explicitly under the assumption that a cyclic small-gain condition is satisfied. The cyclic small-gain condition is shown to be equivalent to a matrix-like condition. The two conditions and their equivalence precisely generalize some central ISS results in the literature. Moreover, the necessity of the matrix-like condition is established. The allowable number of non-ISS subsystems for stability of the network is discussed through several necessity conditions.

This paper presents human-robot communication for a monitoring support system in an Intelligent Space. An Intelligent Space (iSpace) is a space in which many intelligent devices are installed to observe the user's environment. In this paper, we apply the iSpace observation function to a monitoring system used for maintaining the safety of elderly persons receiving home-care support. In addition, we use a mobile robot as a tool to deliver monitoring results to care assistants. We focus on an ethological approach for designing robot behaviors for human-robot communication. The implementation of these robot behaviors based on an ethological approach, and the results of an experiment conducted to evaluate these behaviors, are then presented.

The paper gives design methods dedicated to speed control of Direct Current (DC) and Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors in the framework of servo systems. Two design approaches are offered for position and speed control of servo systems with inner current control loops. The PI and PID controllers in these approaches are tuned on the basis the Extended Symmetrical Optimum method and of the double parameterization of Symmetrical Optimum method. Cost-effective features are ensured by simple controller designs and easy implementations, and they are illustrated by means of a case study that includes simulation results. A two-degree-of-freedom interpretation is given. A BLDC motor application applied to mechatronic systems is presented.
