Autonomous Underwater Gliders (AUGs) are extensively developed vehicles capable of prolonged exploration and observation in complex marine environments. Control of the AUG is challenging due to its slow response system and its constraints. In this research, a linear model representation of AutoRegressive eXogenous input (ARX) will be constructed using input and output data from the AUG system, built Model Predictive Control (MPC), analyzed the performance, comparing with traditional Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID). The objective is to enhance setpoint tracking accuracy and minimize energy to extend exploration time while faced with constraints. Simulation results reveal MPC exhibits potential setpoint tracking, low overshoot as low as 0.6% up to 0.3m/s maximum depth rate, has relatively low input changes indicating good efficiency compared to PID. MPC approach effectively addresses slow response systems, managing momentum, and handling actuator constraints commonly encountered in AUG. © 2023 IEEE.

The development of artificial intelligence is one of the most significant technological innovations that contributes to humanity with its characteristics and facilitates, secures, and improves everyday life. However the challenge arises when the programmer-engineer learns the algorithm of artificial intelligence to perform the proposed task, that is, the challenge lies in the issue of available hardware resources. Artificial intelligence algorithms perform many human-impossible tasks, such as detection and counting, i.e. calculating the interrelationships of individual objects, segmentation of tumors and other malignant diseases, i.e. tissues, classification of specific states of classes of a scene, and many other similar technologies. This research paper examines the possibility of implementing the You Only Look Once algorithm of the tenth generation on certain devices such as an affordable Raspberry Pi, and will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of changes in detection parameters, i.e. inferences to the applied model. In addition, a mock-up of the device will be shown, which will serve to provide timely information about criminals and suspicious persons who possess firearms in different situations, such as normal weather conditions in a populated place or in shops where petty robberies are frequent. The testing will be done using recorded videos in real-time scenarios. Finally, real-time inference or detection in real-time will be tested and the actions that Raspberry will perform will be simulated. The results indicate that the optimal model achieved a precision of 0.938, recall of 9.863, mAP50 of 0.91, and mAP50-95 of 0.739. This was achieved using an image size of 640, IOU threshold of 0.7, confidence threshold of 0.6, and training for 600 iterations with the Stochastic Gradient Descent optimizer, without augmentations, and employing the ONNX inference format. © 2024 IEEE.

Support Vector Machine(SVM)has become one of the traditional machine learning algorithms the most used in prediction and classification ***,its behavior strongly depends on some parameters,making tuning these parameters a sensitive step to maintain a good *** the other hand,and as any other classifier,the performance of SVM is also affected by the input set of features used to build the learning model,which makes the selection of relevant features an important task not only to preserve a good classification accuracy but also to reduce the dimensionality of *** this paper,the MRFO+SVM algorithm is introduced by investigating the recent manta ray foraging optimizer to fine-tune the SVM parameters and identify the optimal feature subset *** proposed approach is validated and compared with four SVM-based algorithms over eight benchmarking ***,it is applied to a disease Covid-19 *** experimental results show the high ability of the proposed algorithm to find the appropriate SVM’s parameters,and its acceptable performance to deal with feature selection problem.

In order to achieve the goal of a carbon-neutral power system, significant changes to the power grid are underway, necessitating enhanced interoperability between Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and Distribution System Operators (DSOs) for effective grid operation, particularly in light of the growing number of distributed generators (DGs). Data privacy concerns, however, complicate decision-making processes, particularly when integrating DGs into system-wide dispatch decisions. In this paper, we propose a machine-learning (ML)-based method to incorporate DGs located within the distribution system (DS) into dispatch decisions, adhering to data privacy by mitigating the exchange of sensitive data, such as system topology and demand profiles, between TSOs and DSOs. The methodology involves training three ML models to represent the behavior of the DS, thereby replacing the standard power flow model that contains sensitive information. Notably, we utilize a novel tailored neural network (NN) architecture to enhance computational efficiency in mapping the feasible region of the DS. Additionally, we employ open-source data to construct the Baden-Wü rttemberg (Germany) electricity grid, allowing to test our method not only on standard systems but also on a model that more accurately represents real-world power systems. The numerical case studies verify that the proposed method achieves results comparable to standard AC optimal power flow (AC-OPF) in both cost-optimality and computational time. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents the development of a secure data platform designed to enhance operational efficiency and to facilitate cross-company collaboration within the manufacturing supply chain. The platform is designed to ease secure information exchange while maintaining the sovereignty of each participant, leveraging standardized security features and advanced technologies such as federated learning. Security measures are based on a comprehensive risk analysis, which methodically identifies, assesses, and mitigates potential threats. Moreover, federated learning models that are not transparent are utilized. This allows data owners to maintain control over sensitive information within the consortium. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have garnered significant attention from the research community during the last decade, due to their diverse capabilities and potential applications. One of the most critical functions that drones must execute efficiently is navigation in real-world environments. This paper presents a decentralized approach for enabling unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to navigate safely in unknown environments and avoid obstacles. Leveraging the Optimal Reciprocal Collision Avoidance (ORCA) algorithm, implemented in the Robot Operating System (ROS), our method facilitates conflict detection and resolution in 2D environments. Through simulations using ROS, Gazebo, and Iris drones, we validate the effectiveness of our approach in scenarios with initial trajectory conflicts. Our work addresses the pressing need for UAVs to autonomously plan and execute safe flights, laying the groundwork for enhanced UAV capabilities in various real-world applications. The simulation results demonstrate the efficiency and robustness of our approach. © 2024 IEEE.

The total labeling of a graph G = (V, E) is a bijection from the union of the vertex set and the edge set of G to the set {1, 2, . . . , |V(G)| + |E(G)|}. The edge-weight of an edge under a total labeling is the sum of the label of the edge and the labels of the end vertices of that edge. The vertexweight of a vertex under a total labeling is the sum of the label of the vertex and the labels of all the edges incident with that vertex. A total labeling is called edge-magic or vertex-magic when all the edge-weights or all the vertex-weights are the same, respectively. When all the edge-weights or all the vertex-weights are different then a total labeling is called edge-antimagic or vertex-antimagic total, respectively. In this paper we deal with the problem of finding a total labeling of some classes of graphs that is simultaneously vertex-magic and edge-antimagic or simultaneously vertex-antimagic and edge-magic, respectively. Banking produces extensive and diverse data, so a clustering process is needed to understand customer behavior patterns and transactions more effectively. This clustering has been widely utilized with the K-Means algorithm due to its simplicity and efficiency. However, this algorithm is limited in determining the optimal cluster center, affecting the accuracy of the clustering results. This study proposes applying two metaheuristic algorithms, Invasive Weed Optimization (IWO) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), as additional solutions combined with K-Means. These two algorithms were chosen because of their ability to find global solutions and convergence speed to handle large and complex banking data. The results show the superiority of IWOKM compared to PSOKM in terms of SSE and DBI. From the SSE value, IWOKM produces a lower value (3029.77), which indicates that this method is better at minimizing clustering errors and producing more accurate clustering than PSOKM (80007.09). From the DBI value, IWOKM also produces a better value (1.6684) than PSOKM (1.6782), which shows that the clusters produced by IWOKM are more compact and more separated. However, in terms of computation time, PSOKM is more efficient, with a faster average computation time. Although IWOKM produces better clustering quality, PSOKM offers advantages in terms of processing speed. This finding confirms that the selection of the IWO algorithm is more appropriate for use on datasets with characteristics such as the German Credit Dataset. © 2024 IEEE.
