Vortex flow characteristics in a reservoir and horizontal water intake have been predicted by using regression models in this numerical research. In this paper, three standalone machine learning models–Random Forest (RF), K-nearest neighbours (KNN), Gradient Boosting (GB)–and a proposed hybrid model based on Lévy Jaya Algorithm (LJA) and GB (LJA-GB) are employed to estimate the effect of trash racks on flow properties at power intakes. The experimental data which are prepared for the proposed study in this paper were obtained through a rectangular laboratory tank 8.3 m³ with various submergence depths and Froude numbers on nine trash racks with 63.7%–84.1% opening, made out of 2, 2.5, 4, and 6 mm thick copper wire. The outcomes revealed that the proposed LJA-GB model shows the best overall performance among the four models used for estimation. Thus, the LJA-GB model has the lowest mean absolute error (MAE) (0.3344), mean squared error (MSE) (0.1784), and root mean squared error (RMSE) (0.4223) values and highest R-squared ((Formula presented.)) (0.9899) and Willmott’s index (WI) values (0.9508) in the testing stage metrics for (Formula presented.) estimation and MAE (0.0061), MSE (0.0001), RMSE (0.0073), (Formula presented.) (0.9971), WI (0.9727) for (Formula presented.) estimation. Whereas the RF and KNN models exhibited poor performance in both stages of estimation. © 2024 The Author(s). The lack of dopamine in the human brain is the cause of Parkinson disease (PD) which is a degenerative disorder common globally to older citizens. However, late detection of this disease before the first clinical diagnosis has led to increased mortality rate. Research effort towards the early detection of PD has encountered challenges such as: small dataset size, class imbalance, overfitting, high false detection rate, model complexity, etc. This paper aims to improve early detection of PD using machine learning through data augmentation for very small datasets. We propose using Spline interpolation and Piecewise Cubic Hermite Interpolating Polynomial (Pchip) interpolation methods to generate synthetic data instances. We further investigate on reducing dimensionality of features for effective and real-time classification while considering computational complexity of implementation on real-life mobile phones. For classification we use Bidirectional LSTM (BiLSTM) deep learning network and compare the results with traditional machine learning algorithms like Support Vector Machine (SVM), Decision Tree, Logistic regression, KNN and Ensemble bagged tree. For experimental validation we use the Oxford Parkinson disease dataset with 195 data samples, which we have augmented with 571 synthetic data samples. The results for BiLSTM shows that even with a holdout of 90%, the model was still able to effectively recognize PD with an average accuracy for ten rounds experiment using 22 features as 82.86%, 97.1%, and 96.37% for original, augmented (Spline) and augmented (Pchip) datasets, respectively. This paper examines the reproducibility of massive information analytics under particular factors. The paper proposes the “performing Scalable Inference” technique to cope with scalability troubles and to exploit current big statistics platforms for efficient computing and statistics garage of the statistics. In particular, the paper describes how to perform leak-free, parallelizable visible analytics over massive datasets using present extensive records analytics frameworks such as Apache Flink. This method presents an automated manner to execute analytics that preserves reproducibility and the ability to make adjustments without re-running the entire technique. The paper also demonstrates how these analytics may help several real-world use instances, explore affected person cohorts for studies, and develop stratified patient cohorts for hospital therapy. In the end, the paper observes how the proposed method may be exercised within the real world. Actively scalable inference for massive information analytics is pivotal in optimizing decision-making and allocation of assets. Typically, such inferences are made based on information accumulated from numerous sources, databases, unstructured data, and different digital sources. So one can ensure scalability, a complete cloud-primarily based platform has to be hired. This solution will permit the ***, deploying the essential records series and evaluation algorithms are prime here. It could permit the platform to recognize the styles inside the statistics and discover any ability correlations or traits. Additionally, predictive analytics and system mastering strategies may be incorporated to provide insights into the results of the information. In the long run, by leveraging those techniques, the platform can draw efficient inferences and appropriately compare situations in an agile and green way..

Like most diseases that affect a human's life, car-diovascular disease is dangerous and unwanted for anyone who has heard of it as it brings a high risk of death. In today's world, most deaths are caused by heart disease as it could come from age, heritage, smoking, and many factors that could seem normal, and it doesn't matter what part of the world you are in. There must be a way to know or predict if this person is at high risk of cardiovascular disease. This paper and project talk about six algorithms: K-Nearest-Neighbour (KNN), Decision Tree (DT), Naive Bayes, Neural Network, Logistic Regression, and Support Vector Machine (SVM). The results came between 60% to 70% in one dataset and from 80 % to 90 % in the second. Still, they mostly favor the Neural Network algorithm as it can learn and model around complex relationships. The SVM showed different outputs between the two datasets as one is significantly larger than the other, possibly due to the outliers in both datasets being different and more complex in the larger one. Cardiovascular disease can be very dangerous, but finding and discovering it soon can be a lifesaver. These algorithms also can help find and predict it, as it was shown with not just decent, but good and respectable success rates for each one.

Alzheimer's disease is a fatal brain disorder that impacts predominantly the elderly. The early identification of Alzheimer's illness requires the use of efficient automated methods. For the categorization of Alzheimer's disease, researchers have proposed several distinct methods. To create more effective learning strategies, however, a deeper comprehension of Alzheimer's research is necessary. The condition is diagnosed but not until a later stage. As a consequence, the disease's progression or its symptoms' onset can be slowed if detected earlier. This article uses two datasets and machine learning techniques to predict Alzheimer's disease based on psychological characteristics such as age, gender, number of visits, and Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). We ultimately focused on the masculine gender and characteristics. The following results (accuracy) were discovered: SVM: 84%, KNN: 79%, and Random forest: 86%. Neural network: 86%; Naive Bayes: 83%.

In today's environment, cancer is a fatal disease. Skin cancer has become a fairly common malignancy due to the spread of several forms of cancer. Skin cancer is divided into two types: melanoma and non-melanoma. Melanoma is one of the most fatal tumors on the planet, and it can spread to other parts of the body if not diagnosed early enough. Our proposed system uses Five alternative methods to predict a skin lesion's borders, texture, and color: a neural network and four standard machine learning classifiers. To enhance their performance, the outputs of these systems are merged using majority voting. Experiments have demonstrated that combining the five strategies yields the maximum level of accuracy. Pre-processing, Segmentation, Feature Extraction, and Classification are four critical phases in skin cancer identification. Skin lesion images were collected for this research from the International Skin Imaging Collaboration (ISIC), which contains over 3297 photos. The accuracy of the NN classifier is 91.9%, compared to 87.2% for the KNN classifier, 81.5% for the Naive Bayes classifier, 72.5% for the SVM classifier, and 68.3% for the DT classifier.

Brain tumors are one of the greatest causes of death worldwide. Due to that, early diagnosis and classification of the tumor would surely help increase the chance of survival for patients worldwide. However, classifying and identifying brain tumors requires certain tools, including using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to detect brain tumors. Moreover, many researchers in the past have also built up computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) systems to aid radiologists in their purpose of detecting brain abnormalities and tumors effectively. In this research, extracted multi-modal features like texture, morphological, entropy-based, Scale Invariant Features are proposed, and consequently, certain robust machine learning techniques, which are k-nearest neighbors (KNN), Decision Tree (DT), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naive Bayes, as well as the Logistic Regression classifier were used to analyze the two data-sets included in the paper, detect tumors found in the brain, not to mention, examining their results, which have then shown the highest accuracy when using the Logistic regression classifier in both data sets, with the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier following it, which further support the argument made in the paper.

In the evolving landscape of cloud computing, federated cloud infrastructures present unique challenges and opportunities for resource and application monitoring. Monitoring the diverse array of cloud resources and applications within a federated cloud environment is crucial for delivering consistent Quality of Service (QoS) and continuous oversight across various cloud applications and infrastructure. Despite the various successes documented in the literature on multi-cloud monitoring, existing frameworks have not fully explored or provided enough insights into centralized monitoring of resources, applications, and network devices in a federated cloud environment. This paper introduces FedMonitor, an implementation architecture designed to enhance the monitoring and notification capabilities in federated cloud environments by building on the theoretical ideals in our earlier work (i.e. FEDARGOS-V1). FedMonitor leverages Prometheus and Grafana to crawl, manage and visualize metrics from diverse software services, hardware resources, and network devices within a federated cloud environment. The results demonstrate hat FedMonitor improves the effectiveness of resource and application monitoring in federated cloud environments.

Modularity is one of the four key principles of software design and architecture. According to this principle, software should be organized into modules that are tightly linked internally (high cohesion), whereas at the same time as independent from other modules as possible (low coupling). However, in practice, this principle is violated due to poor architecting design decisions, lack of time, or coding shortcuts, leading to a phenomenon termed as architectural technical debt (ATD). To alleviate this problem (lack of architectural modularity), the most common solution is the application of a software refactoring, namely Move Class - i.e., moving classes (the core artifact in object-oriented systems) from one module to another. To identify Move Class refactoring opportunities, we employ a search-based optimization process, relying on optimization metrics, through which optimal moves are derived. Given the extensive search space required for applying a brute-force search strategy, in this paper, we propose the use of a genetic algorithm that re-arranges existing software classes into existing or new modules (software packages in Java, or folders in C++). To validate the usefulness of the proposed refactorings, we performed an industrial case study on three projects (from the Aviation, Healthcare, and Manufacturing application domains). The results of the study indicate that the proposed architecture reconstruction is able to improve modularity, improving both coupling and cohesion. The obtained results can be useful to practitioners through an open source tool;whereas at the same point, they open interesting future work directions. © 2020 ACM.

Handwritten digit recognition is a branch of machine learning in which a computer is taught to recognize hand-written numbers. Classification and regression are applied using deep learning and machine learning algorithms. In this paper, we discussed the efficiency of different algorithms: Random Forest, KNN, Naive Bayes, SVM, CNN, and Decision Tree Algorithm. Those algorithms were applied in the handwritten digit recognition process using the MINIST data set. By comparing each algorithm by training every one of them on the data set, then by testing, we got the best algorithm to get the optimal results with the highest accuracy. After comparing the results of each algorithm, it has shown that the neural network has the best results with 97.3% classification accuracy followed by K- the nearest neighbor with 97.2%.
