The terahertz frequency band (0.3-300 THz) is expected to be used in sixth generation (6G) cellular systems providing enormous bandwidth at the air interface. The cellular systems utilizing this band will rely on extremely directional antennas at both base station (BS) and user equipment (UE) to compensate for path losses. However, this property makes links vulnerable to frequent antenna misalignment caused by micromobility, e.g., small shakes and rotations of UE even when a user is in a stationary position. In this paper, we propose a new scheme for efficient beamalignment to reduce the fraction of time in the outage and improve ergodic capacity of the link under UE micromobility. The main idea consists in tracking the displacement of the center of the antenna half-power beamwidth (HPBW) allowing to drastically decrease the search space during the beamalignment procedure. By utilizing real measurements of micromobility patterns, we demonstrated that the proposed the scheme allows reducing the fraction of time in outage by 10-30% and improve ergodic capacity by 5-20% depending on the type of application utilized by the user and the accuracy of utilized motion sensors at UE. © 2022 IEEE.

This study reports the influence of contamination-type distortions of the prior distribution density of the parameters on the conditional probabilities of erroneous decisions and the expected number of observations for sequential testing composite parametric hypotheses. Asymptotic expansions are constructed for the characteristics mentioned above that make it possible to estimate the deviations from the hypothetical values under distortions. © 2022, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

The two-stage method for solving ODEs is based on the interpolation of the coefficients of the derivative of the solution. Transforms with a spectral integration matrix gives a part of the solution coefficients. The rest are calculated by the boundary conditions. The complexity of the algorithm is equivalent to the complexity of multiplying the matrix by a vector. © 2022 IEEE.

Imitation models for computing the environmental water pollution level depending on the intensity of pollution sources created by the author over the years are presented. For this purpose, an additive model of a non-stationary random process is considered. For the modeling of its components, models that consider only dilution and self-purification processes are proposed for waste water and three-dimensional turbulent diffusion equations for river waters, and multidimensional Gaussian Markov series are proposed for modeling the random component. The purpose, the capabilities and the peculiarities of such imitation models are discussed taking into account the peculiarities of the water objects. The modular principle of creating imitation models is proposed to facilitate their development and use.

The development of information technology allows applying complex mathematical algorithms. For example, machine learning (ML) procedures are used in almost all humans life areas: smart home systems, online recommendation systems intelligent chatbots and so on. This creates a huge demand for specialists in data analysis and ML. Modern data analysis packages often do not require deep knowledge from a specialist, which allows to apply all ML algorithms without a deep understanding of their work. However, the main problem is that the data is not suitable for the algorithm and as a result, the algorithm cannot detect all the patterns or does it incorrectly. This situation can be acceptable in pet projects and is completely unacceptable in cases where the algorithm error costs a lot of money or human lives. In this paper the analysis of ML algorithms and the possibility of their application to forest fires data are done. © 2019 IEEE.

In this paper we present our work concerning VR applications in architecture and design. We investigated 3D and VR software in architectural planning and engineering. We also asked the opinion of experts in order to explore the missing parts of this area. We developed a program based on the demand of architects and their customers which aims to give a true sense of being in the building to be built. So users can feel the space, the size and the atmosphere of the building in a more realistic way before anything has been built. We focused on realistic visual experience in order to give a real insight into the emotional effects of the whole building and to provide the opportunity to perceive the different interior design variations. We compared our application to other available solutions in aspect of functionality, visual experience, interactions and computational requirements. © 2018 IEEE.

Virtual radio resource management system (VRRM) provides optimal sharing of virtualized resources of an infrastructure provider (InP) between several virtual network operators (VNO). One of the main objectives of the VRRM is to optimize the usage of radio access network (RAN) by dynamic sharing between slices in a fair manner according to their contracted Service Level Agreement (SLA). The paper presents the architecture of the VRRM simulation tool in terms of queuing systems. Besides, using the developed simulator, we analyze a practical scenario with 3 VNOs and different types of SLAs and investigate performance metrics under variation of traffic load and SLAs. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

A wide variety of recommender systems have been deployed on different media websites. Nonetheless, providing personalized recommendations for hundreds of new users and articles appearing daily still appears to be a challenge. In this paper, we propose a method for generating personalized recommendations for media resources with high content creation rate. We explore two general approaches, gradient boosting model and matrix factorization algorithm. Preliminary experiments showed that gradient boosting performs better for our website in terms of training speed, resource consumption, and scalability.
