The development of fast and reliable methods for predicting the biological activity of the substances in computational biology is of a great importance. This improves the development of some new compounds while keeping costs low. Among many scientists, an attractive target for docking experiments is the Delta-opioid receptor (DOR) and delta-opioid ligands (DOL). Their biological efficacy can be measured by various techniques, which could facilitate the establishment of the relationship between the structure of the compounds and their biological effect. The relationship between the results of the computer experiments and the biological activity of these compounds is modelled by using machine learning regressors. The primary goal of this study is to determine the most appropriate neural network for modelling the relationship between in vitro and in silico results for DOR and delta-opioid ligands. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

We study, using the integral-equation-based in-house guaranteed-convergence numerical code, the effect of a circular air hole on the frequency, threshold gain and directionality of emission of the whispering-gallery modes of a two-dimensional model of circular-disk microcavity laser. We show that a small hole can enhance the directionality greatly and leave the threshold gain intact, if disk's refractive index is large enough and hole's location is chosen properly. This location should be close to the area where the same uniform disk, if illuminated with a plane wave, displays a broadband focusing in the form of hot spot called photonic jet. © 2021 IEEE.

Most of a happening with four-wheeled electric cars occurs because of the failure of applying brake systems. The manual method of applied brakes is always dangerous as it can lead to accidents. However, practice shows that accidents are not accidental. We will not consider an extraordinary case of the accident cause - loss of consciousness by a driver. Failure in the linkages of applying brake systems, road conditions, uncontrollable speed of the vehicle, and manual operation of braking systems are, basically, the reasons for accidents. The driving class of the driver not only influences road safety but also helps in saving fuel consumption. The performed mathematical modeling takes into the account factors such as speed and movement, and several times applied brakes, a sharp acceleration, and various turns, as well as changes in the lane compared to the sensors data. These four sensors like the accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and GPS are using for gathering data. © 2021 IEEE.

Opiates are among the oldest drugs that are used to treat many medical problems. They are analgesic and sedative drugs that contain opium. The morphine is its most active ingredient and it is a widely used pain reliever despite its side effects. The main objective of this study is to construct a model which gives the structure-activity relationship among a series of mu-opioid ligands and molecular docking results. For this purpose, a model of mu-opioid receptors using machine learning is introduced. By obtaining a relationship between the docking results and the in vivo test, we could predict the biological effect of the newly synthesized ligands. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Seasonal monitoring of cultivated land for weeds with automatic classification of crops and weeds provides farmers with a significant return on investment, as it saves fertilizer, herbicides and time. This paper discusses the problem of semantic image segmentation using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architectures. In the implementation of the CNN architectures RGB format images are used. A comparative analysis of the application of the proposed approaches and their estimated performance indicators obtained as a result of experimental studies is carried out. © 2022 IEEE.

This study investigates the finite-time stability of fractional-order (FO) discrete Susceptible–Infected–Recovered (SIR) models for COVID-19, incorporating memory effects to capture real-world epidemic dynamics. We use discrete fractional calculus to analyze the stability of disease-free and pandemic equilibrium points. The theoretical framework introduces essential definitions, finite-time stability (FTS) criteria, and novel fractional-order modeling insights. Numerical simulations validate the theoretical results under various parameters, demonstrating the finite-time convergence to equilibrium states. Results highlight the flexibility of FO models in addressing delayed responses and prolonged effects, offering enhanced predictive accuracy over traditional integer-order approaches. This research contributes to the design of effective public health interventions and advances in mathematical epidemiology. © 2025

Rota-Baxter operators on various structures have found important applications in diverse areas, from renormalization of quantum field theory to Yang-Baxter equations. Relative Rota-Baxter operators on Lie algebras are closely related to pre-Lie algebras and post-Lie algebras. Some of their group counterparts have been introduced to study post-groups, skew left braces and set-theoretic solutions of Yang-Baxter equations, but searching suitable notions of relative Rota-Baxter operators on groups with weight zero and pre-groups has been challenging and has been the focus of recent studies, by provisionally imposing an abelian condition. Arising from the works of Balinsky-Novikov and Gelfand-Dorfman, Novikov algebras and their constructions from differential commutative algebras have led to broad applications. Finding their suitable counterparts for groups and Lie algebras has also attracted quite much recent attention. This paper uses one-sided-inverse pairs of maps to give a perturbative approach to a general notion of relative Rota-Baxter operators and differential operators on a group and a Lie algebra with limit-weight. With the extra condition of limit-abelianess on the group or Lie algebra, we give an interpretation of relative Rota-Baxter and differential operators with weight zero. These operators motivate us to define pre-groups and Novikov groups respectively as the induced structures. The tangent maps of these operators are shown to give Rota-Baxter and differential operators with weight zero on Lie algebras. The tangent spaces of the pre-Lie and Novikov Lie groups are pre-Lie algebras and Novikov Lie algebras, fulfilling the expected property. Two-Dimensional Thin Layer Convective Flow and Heat Transfer of a Dusty Fluid on a Nonlinear Stretching Sheet

In this study, steady two-dimensional boundary layer flow and heat transfer of a dusty fluid over a nonlinearly stretching sheet with variable thickness, $${u}_{w} (x)={U}_{0}{(x+b)}^{m}$$ has been considered. A variable magnetic field is applied transversely to the direction of the flow. The general problem has been reduced to a system of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations of two-dimensional boundary layer. By means of similarity transformation, the basic governing equations are transformed into a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equation and then are solved numerically by dsolve routine in MAPLE. Results of the present study have been duly validated by adopting an appropriate procedure. The influence of various parameters such as velocity power index, wall thickness parameter, magnetic parameter fluid-particle interaction parameter for velocity, fluid-particle interaction parameter for temperature, mass concentration of dust particle, Prandtl number, Eckert number has been investigated. The effects are then presented graphically both for dust phase and fluid phase. It is clear that flow field and other quantities of physical interest are significantly influenced by these parameters. Also the effects of the parameters on the skin-friction coefficients and rate of heat transfer in terms of the Nusselt number, which are of physical interest, are shown graphically/in tabular form. The study reveals that the impact of the parameters for the dusty fluid on Nusselt number is considerably higher than that for a clean fluid.

Robotic manipulators, as the most versatile class of modern automatic devices, are part of most automated production systems. The versatility of robots is largely associated with the developed software of the controllers included in their composition. However, despite certain achievements, there are no sufficiently effective commercial software products that solve the problem of planning the trajectories of multilink manipulators. The problem of trajectory planning acquires particular complexity for organizing the joint work of several manipulators, which is relevant for engineering practice: in order to avoid collisions, it is necessary to control the trajectory not only of the working body, but also of all nodes of each manipulator. In view of the obvious ambiguity for the solution of the inverse kinematics problem, necessary for planning, it is necessary to introduce some criteria that exclude ambiguity. In this paper, we discuss the possibility for applying the methods of analytical mechanics to implement the proposed approach - the choice of a trajectory based on the minimum energy consumption along the planned trajectory.

Problems of research of underground gas storage (UGS) wells are given. The analysis of the results of well research is carried out and the constant variability of filtration resistance coefficients of bottomhole zones of wells is substantiated. Studies of the influence of bottomhole pressures of wells on the calculated pressure at gas gathering stations (GGS) of underground storage facilities have been carried out. It was found that the calculated filtration resistance coefficients do not allow to calculate the pressures at the gas gathering stations of the underground storage plant with sufficient accuracy. The magnitude of the discrepancy between the measured and calculated pressures on the GGS varies depending on the flow rate and operating time of wells. It is established that the calculation of depression (repression) of pressure in the bottomhole zones of wells in non-stationary conditions of their operation gives underestimated results. © 2023 IEEE.
