Modern automatic monitoring systems (AMS) solve the problems of analyzing the flows of measured data coming from the object under study. Solving the problems of regulation and monitoring requires a timely response of the devices to changing parameters of the input signals. Adaptive automatic monitoring systems correspond to these requirements, the construction of which is feasible based on programmable logic circuits, microcontrollers, real-time computers, neural network and expert technologies. At the heart of any of these systems is algorithmic support that describes the principle of action, which determines the operations and the sequence of their execution during the operation of the AMS. One type of adaptation is a parallel-serial analysis of deviations of input values from nominal values, which allows to increase the reliability of monitoring due to parallel calculations of the maximum difference and sequential detection of an allowable deviation.

This paper presents the research results of the pulp movement process along the extraction chamber bottom to the suction pipe of the pulp lifting device in case of downhole hydraulic mining the volcanic tuff-stone. The washout process and hydraulically operated transportation of the tuff-stone hydraulic mixture, when forming the extraction chamber, have been studied under various conditions and methods of exposure. As a result, the dominant parameters have been determined influencing the hydrodynamic washout technology as well as tuff-stone hydraulic mixture lifting to the alluviation map. The dependences have been substantiated of the washout process performance and transportation capacity of the hydraulic mixture flow on the determined parameters. To calculate the process of pulp flow-over along the extraction chamber bottom to the intaking hydraulic elevator headwall, the systems of equations have been determined based on the modelling the movement of tuff-stone hydraulic mixture along the extraction chamber bottom during hydraulic washout. The dependences of the contact strength of the tuff-stone samples mined by downhole method on the time spent in water are presented, resulting in determination of the tuff-stone weakening coefficient and the degree of its saturation with water. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences 2020.

The importance of thermal radiation and Stefan blowing on the boundary layer flow of tetra hybrid nanofluid flow across a disk are examined in the present work employing the Cattaneo-Christov flux model. Additionally, the Marangoni convection effect and Stefan blowing are examined. Tetra-hybrid nanofluids are employed in sophisticated thermal systems like heat exchangers, solar energy systems, and cooling technologies because of their improved thermal conductivity and heat transmission properties. Under microgravity conditions, a surface tension differential in the plasma causes the intriguing scientific phenomenon known as Marangoni convection. Important uses of the Marangoni effect include welding, convection or Bernard cells, crystal growth, electron beam melting of metals, soap film stability, and more. In order to improve heat exchangers in chemical processes, optimize thermal management in power plants, and provide effective cooling systems for intricate machinery, the model is essential. Furthermore, it is a flexible tool for contemporary engineering solutions that advance sustainable practices by improving the energy efficiency of renewable technologies. To solve the problem, the Homotopy analysis approach is applied, and graphs are used to show the analytical outcomes. The temperature and velocity fields rise as the Stefan blowing parameter rises, while the solutal profile falls.

The neural correlates of face individuation – the acquisition of memory representations for novel faces – have been studied only in coarse detail and disregarding individual differences between learners. In their seminal study, (Tanaka, Curran, Porterfield, & Collins, 2006) required the identification of a particular novel face across 70 trials and found that the N250 component in the ERP became more negative from the first to the second half of the experiment, where it reached a similar amplitude as a well-known face. We were unable to directly replicate this finding in our study when we used the original spilt of trials. However, when we applied a different split of trials we observed very similar changes in N250 amplitude. Then, we developed and applied a new two-step explorative-confirmative non-parametric method based on permutation testing to determine the time course of face individuation in individual participants based on single trial N250 amplitudes. We show that the assumption of a steep initial increase of N250 amplitude across multiple presentations of the target face, followed by a plateau, yields plausible results in fitting linear trends for most participants. The transition point from initial acquisition to the plateau phase differed strongly between participants and tended to be earlier when performance in target face recognition was better. Hence, face individuation may be accounted for by a biphasic process of early, fast acquisition, followed by a slower, asymptotic consolidation or maintenance phase. The current approach might be fruitfully applied to further investigations into face individuation and their neural correlates. © 2020, CC BY-NC-ND.

The paper considers the perspectives for the use and scope of application of plunger pairs made of synthetic corundum in hydraulic control systems and power drives. The effect of the influence of the use of synthetic corundum in control systems and power drives of hydraulic systems of aircraft has been determined-increasing efficiency and dynamics by lowering the friction factor of 2-3, a decrease in the gaps to 0, increase the operating temperature range, and a weight loss of 10-15%. An approach to the analysis of design options for updated elements of hydraulic drives is formulated.

The article proposes an approach of multi-code labeling of industrial products to increase the reliability of automatic identification systems when transporting them during stochastic movement. A practical problem is described, the solution of which is directed at the technology being developed. The problem of product identification during stochastic displacement is considered on the example of OJSC "Vyksa Steel Works". The definition of multi-code labeling is given. The classical methods of data integrity control are considered and the possibilities of their use for generation of multi-code labels are considered. The analysis of the method of checksums for the creation of multi-code labels was carried out and an algorithm for their generation was developed. The program implementation of the developed algorithm is carried out. The results of the work are implemented in the warehouse of packaging materials of the "Group of Companies Global33" company of the Vladimir region for the organization of automatic traceability of the rolls of air-bubble film along the conveyor line.

The development of hydraulic technologies requires the use of new structural materials. The study used the main provisions of the theory of positive displacement hydraulic machines and hydraulic drives and methods for their solution using multiphysics software. The article presents the results of a comparative analysis of the performance of plunger pairs made of synthetic corundum in hydraulic machines of power drives. The effect of using synthetic corundum in hydraulic power drives is determined. Analysis of the obtained results makes it possible to conclude that when using synthetic sapphire as a plunger material, taking into account the preservation of structural geometry, maximum stresses are reduced by 4.7%, contact stresses by 4.7%, and deformation by 44%, with a decrease in weight by 49%.

This work presents the development of information technology and the selected application of Micro Electro-Mechanical systems (MEMS) as an example of integration of information system applications in the area of ecology. The development of information systems is presented, which is shown as subjecting it to a number of transformation methods and procedures. The development of information technology over the last century has been shown. It showed how common MEMS technology has become as an effect of the development of information systems. One of the potential applications of MEMS in an ecological context has been presented. An example of using this technology is a weather station. The information obtained from it is particularly important in the case of heavily polluted environments.

Background: Decades of steady improvements in life expectancy in Europe slowed down from around 2011, well before the COVID-19 pandemic, for reasons which remain disputed. We aimed to assess how changes in risk factors and cause-specific death rates in different European countries related to changes in life expectancy in those countries before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: We used data and methods from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2021 to compare changes in life expectancy at birth, causes of death, and population exposure to risk factors in 16 European Economic Area countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden) and the four UK nations (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales) for three time periods: 1990–2011, 2011–19, and 2019–21. Changes in life expectancy and causes of death were estimated with an established life expectancy cause-specific decomposition method, and compared with summary exposure values of risk factors for the major causes of death influencing life expectancy. Findings: All countries showed mean annual improvements in life expectancy in both 1990–2011 (overall mean 0·23 years [95% uncertainty interval [UI] 0·23 to 0·24]) and 2011–19 (overall mean 0·15 years [0·13 to 0·16]). The rate of improvement was lower in 2011–19 than in 1990–2011 in all countries except for Norway, where the mean annual increase in life expectancy rose from 0·21 years (95% UI 0·20 to 0·22) in 1990–2011 to 0·23 years (0·21 to 0·26) in 2011–19 (difference of 0·03 years). In other countries, the difference in mean annual improvement between these periods ranged from –0·01 years in Iceland (0·19 years [95% UI 0·16 to 0·21] vs 0·18 years [0·09 to 0·26]), to –0·18 years in England (0·25 years [0·24 to 0·25] vs 0·07 years [0·06 to 0·08]).
