α-Reliable Shortest Path Problem in Uncertain Time-Dependent Networks

In a congested road network, it is always desirable to find a reliable shortest path so far as travel time is concerned. Physical distance and travel time are invariably uncertain due to large-scale maintenance work, natural disaster, heavy accident, weather conditions, etc. Many researchers considered travel time to be stochastic where the Bellman’s principle of optimality is not preserved. Also, any sub-path of a shortest path is not necessarily shortest. Some researchers find non-dominated paths under different variants as a multi-objective optimization problem. Moreover, in the absence of sample data, probability theory cannot be used. In this work, the travel time is considered to be uncertain variable, where no sample data is required and it is established that Bellman’s principle of optimality is preserved. So, in contrast to the stochastic environment, classical dynamic approach can be used to find the α-reliable shortest path using uncertainty theory. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature India Private Limited.

This paper introduces a ranking function procedure on a bi-level programming for Stackelberg game involving intuitionistic fuzzy *** fuzzy num-ber is considered in many real-life situations,so it makes perfect sense to address decision-making problem by using some specified intuitionistic fuzzy *** this paper,intuitionistic fuzziness is characterized by a normal generalized triangular intuitionistic fuzzy number.A defuzzification method is introduced based on the pro-portional probability density function associated with the corresponding membership function,as well as the complement of non-membership *** the proposed ranking technique,a methodology is presented for solving bi-level programming for Stackelberg *** application example is provided to demonstrate the applica-bility of the proposed methodology,and the achieved results are compared with the existing methods.

Heart disease, known as cardiovascular disease has been one of the main causes of death worldwide in recent years. It is affected by various risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, smoking, obesity, physical inactivity, etc. In this study, Cleveland database of UCI repository of heart disease patients is used. The dataset includes 303 instances and 76 variables which of 14 variables are considered. At first, three different feature selection techniques, namely LASSO, Elastic Net and Adaptive LASSO under specific tuning parameters determined by cross-validation, are applied to reduce the number of independent variables used for the prediction. Then, five different classification techniques, K-nearest neighbor, Support Vector Machine, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and Logistic Regression are performed to predict heart disease. Performances of these methods are measured by different metrics, such as accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and Matthew correlation coefficient. © Proceedings of the 17th International Symposium on Operational Research in Slovenia, SOR 2023. A Comprehensive Study on m-Polar Picture Fuzzy Graphs and Its Application

In real-life problems, information collected from multiple agents often exhibits "multipolar information," which cannot be accurately modeled by existing graph models. This paper introduces the m-polar picture fuzzy graph (mPPFG) as a more efficient model for such problems. The mPPFG offers a precise, flexible and comparable system compared to other graph models. The paper defines the mPPFG model and introduces new terms and properties such as order, degree, weighted arithmetic average (WAA) order, WAA degree, complement, homomorphism, isomorphism, eccentricity, radius, diameter and more. It also explores the concepts of m-polar antipodal picture fuzzy graphs, eccentric mPPFG, self-centered mPPFG and self-median mPPFG, highlighting their definitions and properties. The m-polar antipodal picture fuzzy graph represents a graph where each vertex is associated with an m-polar antipodal picture fuzzy set. The eccentric mPPFG focuses on highly eccentric vertices, while the self-centered mPPFG considers central vertices. The self-median mPPFG represents median vertices in the graph. The study of these graph types and their isomorphism properties contributes to a deeper understanding of the structural variations within mPPFGs. Furthermore, the paper proposes an application of the mPPFG model in evaluating the performance of ministers in India during their tenure. An algorithm is also developed for computing the performance of ministers. © 2024 World Scientific. All rights reserved.

The article presents the history of the development of sports programming as a sport in Russia. The main stages of the formation of the legislative basis for this sport are given. As an example, the organization of training students in the discipline of 'algorithmic programming' at the Lipetsk State Technical University is given. The paper formulates an algorithm for searching the optimal temperature regime of the catalytic process in an ideal mixing reactor. The problem of optimal control of the catalytic process is formulated in a general form. To find its numerical solution, an algorithm based on the method of differential evolution is described. The algorithm allows to obtain an approximate solution of the optimization problem in a time acceptable from the practical point of view. A computational experiment for the dimerization process of alphamethylstyrene is carried out. The optimal temperature profile for achieving the maximum yield of reaction products - linear dimers - is obtained. © 2023 IEEE.

The most critical task of a social network is to identify a central node. Numerous methods for determining centrality are documented in the literature. It contributes to online commerce by disseminating news, advertisements and other content via central nodes. Existing methods capture the node's direct reachability. This study introduces a novel method for quantifying centrality in a fuzzy environment. This measurement takes into account the reachability of nodes and their direct connections. Several critical properties have been demonstrated. A small Facebook network is used to illustrate the issue. Additionally, appropriate tables and graphs present a comparative study with existing methods for centrality measurement. © 2024-IOS Press. All rights reserved.

This study aims to discuss the existence and uniqueness of solution of fuzzy Volterra integral equations with piecewise continuous kernels. These types of problems are often encountered in balancing issues for systems with hereditary dynamics,such as electric load leveling. The method of successive approximations is applied and the main theorems are proved based on the method. Some examples are discussed and the results are presented for different values of μ by plotting several graphs. In order to show the accuracy of the method, the results have compared with the homotopy analysis method.

This paper considers importance of knowledge bases for the structural design of memristive biosensors, which offer innovative solutions in the field of biosensing due to their high sensitivity, fast response and low energy consumption. The paper analyzes modern approaches to the use of knowledge bases in the process of designing complex systems. The main stages of designing memristive biosensors are presented, at each of which the use of a knowledge base plays a key role. It’s shown how knowledge bases help to systemize information, support decision making, improving design quality and speed up development. Examples of structural schemes and algorithms given in the article illustrate the practical application of representation models and knowledge extraction methods in engineering problems. The discussion includes a description of the creation and use of a knowledge base, the integration of interdisciplinary knowledge and the automation of design processes. The article emphasizes the relevance of the integration of knowledge bases and modern information technologies to improve the efficiency and reliability of the development of memristive biosensors, which makes it important for the scientific community and practitioners in the field of biosensors and engineering.

This study deals with a supplier-retailer supply chain system for perishable goods under fuzzy lead-time and fully backlogged shortages. In this proposed model, a supplier collects the deteriorating goods and fulfills the retailer's demand. Also, two different cases are considered. In the first case, retailer's fully backlogged shortages are incorporated whereas in the second case, retailer's shortages are not allowed. Lead-time of the system is considered as fuzzy in nature. In the first case, the integrated average profit of the supply chain system is obtained in fuzzy nature and the centroid method is used for defuzzification. The aim of this study is to maximize the integrated average profit by optimizing retailer's reorder level and business period. Three numerical examples are considered and solved for justification of the proposed model. Finally, the sensitivity analyses are performed with respect to the values of different system parameters. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature India Private Limited.
