Product reliability is of significant importance in today’s technological world. People rely more and more upon the sustained functioning of machinery and complex equipments for purposes such as health, economic welfare, safety, to name just a few. Thus, in a business arena, it is critical to assess the reliability of new products. In this model, a two echelon supply chain model with variable setup cost and deterioration cost are analyzed. The setup cost is directly proportional and the deterioration rate is inversely proportional to reliability. Algebraical procedure has been employed to obtain the optimal solution of this model. The objective is to minimize the total cost of the entire system by considering reliability as a decision variable. Some numerical examples, sensitivity analysis, and graphical representations are considered to illustrate the model. © 2015, Springer India Pvt. Ltd.

Cancer victims, particularly those with lung cancer, are more susceptible and at higher danger of COVID-19 and associated consequences as a result of their compromised immune systems, which makes them particularly sensitive. Because of a variety of circumstances, cancer patients' diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare are very complicated and time-consuming during an epidemic. In such circumstances, advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms (ML) offer the capacity to boost cancer sufferer diagnosis, therapy, and care via the use of cutting technologies. For example, using clinical and imaging data combined with machine learning methods, the researchers may be able to distinguish among lung alterations induced by corona virus and those produced by immunotherapy and radiation. During this epidemic, artificial intelligence (AI) may be utilized to guarantee that the appropriate individuals are recruited in cancer clinical trials more quickly and effectively than in the past, which was done in a conventional and complicated manner. In order to better care for cancer patients and find novel and more effective therapies, It is critical that we move beyond traditional research methods and use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to update our research (ML). Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are being utilised to help with several aspects of the COVID-19 epidemic, such as epidemiology, molecular research and medication development, medical diagnosis and treatment, and socioeconomics. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 patients is also being investigated. Introducing neuro-fuzzy concept in decision making problems, makes a new way in artificial intelligence and expert systems. Sometimes, neural networks are used to optimize certain performances. In general, knowledge acquisition becomes difficult when problem’s variables, constraints, environment, decision maker’s attitude and complex behaviour are encountered with. A sense of fuzziness prevails in these situations;sometimes numerically and sometimes linguistically. Neural networks (or neural nets) help to overcome this problem. Neural networks are explicitly and implicitly hyped to draw out fuzzy rules from numerical information and linguistic information. Logic-gate and switching circuit mobilize the fuzzy data in crisp environment and can be used in artificial neural network, also. Game theory has a tremendous scope in decision making;and consequently decision makers’ hesitant characters play an important role in it. In this paper, a game situation is clarified under artificial neural network through logic-gate switching circuit in hesitant fuzzy environment with a suitable example;and this concept can be applied in future for real-life situations. © 2022, CC BY.

In this manuscript, an Economic production quantity (EPQ) model have been formulated for deteriorating items under partial trade credit policy with crisp and fuzzy demand. For fuzzy demand we take demand as a triangular fuzzy number & we consider upper α 1 − cut & lower α 1 − cut of this fuzzy number. Then the annual inventory cost of retailer is divided into two parts upper α 1 − cut of annual inventory cost & lower α 1 − cut of annual inventory cost. We use weighted sum method to convert multi objective to a single objective. Here we have to derive optimum cycle time so as to minimize the total average cost. Numerical examples are used to illustrate all results obtained in this paper. Finally the model is solved by Generalized Reduced Gradient(GRG) method and using LINGO(12) software.

A Fuzzy Inventory Model of Deteriorating Items with Stock-dependent Demand under Limited Storage Space

A profit maximization deteriorating multi-item inventory model with stock-dependent demand is developed in fuzzy environment. Here, the available space for inventory storage is limited, holding cost and selling price are purchasing price dependent and the rate of production is finite and uniform. The fuzzy environment is created making the inventory costs, purchasing price, storage area and the rate of deterioration imprecise and vague to certain extent. The impreciseness of these parameters are expressed by linear and non-linear membership functions. The fuzzy model is solved by fuzzy non-linear programming (FNLP) method and illustrated with a numerical example. The results of the fuzzy model are compared with those of the crisp model. Parametric study of the model and its sensitivity with respect to some parameters are presented.

This article focuses on an integrated production inventory model with rework of the imperfect units and stock dependent demands of the customer from several retailers. There is an opportunity to build a model to measure the amount of carbon emissions during the time of production and the corresponding rate of carbon emission parameters are random which follows Beta distribution. Here, the rate of imperfectness is assumed to be a function of time and production rate. In this paper, a manufacturer–retailer–customer chain system is developed in which the retailer gets an upstream trade credit period from the manufacturer and retailers offer a downstream trade credit period to customers to stimulate demand as well as sales and reduce inventory. The model has been developed as a profit maximization problem with respect to the manufacturer and retailers. Finally, several numerical examples and sensitivity analysis are provided to illustrate the model.

Theoretical concepts of graphs are highly utilized by computer science applications. Especially in research areas of computer science such as data mining, image segmentation, clustering, image capturing and networking. The interval-valued fuzzy graphs are more flexible and compatible than fuzzy graphs due to the fact that they have many applications in networks. In this paper, at first we define three new operations on interval-valued fuzzy graphs namely strong product, tensor product and lexicographic product. Likewise, we study about the degree of a vertex in interval-valued fuzzy graphs which are obtained from two given interval-valued fuzzy graphs using the operations Cartesian product, composition, tensor and strong product of two interval-valued fuzzy graphs. These operations are highly utilized by computer science, geometry, algebra, number theory and operation research. In addition to the existing operations these properties will also be helpful to study large interval-valued fuzzy graph as a combination of small, interval-valued fuzzy graphs and to derive its properties from those of the smaller ones. © 2018 - IOS Press and the authors. Modeling and Analysis of an Imprecise Epidemic System with Optimal Treatment and Vaccination Control

In this paper, we propose and analyze a Susceptible-Vaccinated-Exposed-Infected-Recovered (SVEIR) type infectious disease model with imprecise parameters. Introducing the interval numbers in functional form, the SVEIR model is proposed and formulated. The existence of possible equilibrium points with their feasibility criteria and an explicit value of basic reproduction number is obtained. The asymptotic stability of the system at different equilibrium points are also discussed. Next by considering treatment and vaccination as two control parameters, an optimal control problem is formulated and solved. Finally, some computer simulation works are given in support of our analytical results.

Presently, fuzzy graph theory has wide applications in engineering and social networks. Based on the applications, different types of fuzzy graphs are defined. Among them the competition graph is significantly used to model ecological problems. This graph is one kind of intersection graph. Different competitions of real world have been designed by fuzzy competition graphs. One generalization of fuzzy competition graph, called $$m$$ -step fuzzy competition graph, is defined in this paper. Some related fuzzy graphs including fuzzy $$m$$ -step neighbourhood graph, fuzzy economic competition graphs and fuzzy $$m$$ -step economic competition graphs are introduced. Some properties of these new graphs have been investigated.
