Evidence has shown that differential transcriptomic profiles among human populations from diverse ancestries,supporting the role of genetic architecture in regulating gene expression alongside environmental *** variants that regulate gene expression,known as expression quantitative trait loci(eQTL),are primarily shaped by human migration history and evolutionary forces,likewise,regulation of gene expression in principle could have been influenced by these ***,a comprehensive understanding of how human evolution impacts eQTL offers important insights into how phenotypic diversity is *** studies,however,suggest that eQTL is enriched in genes that are selectively *** eQTL is minimally affected by selective pressures remains an open question and requires comprehensive *** addition,such studies are primarily dominated by the major populations of European ancestry,leaving many marginalized populations *** observations indicate there exists a fundamental knowledge gap in the role of genomics variation on phenotypic diversity,which potentially hinders precision *** article aims to revisit the abundance of eQTL across diverse populations and provide an overview of their impact from the population and evolutionary genetics perspective,subsequently discuss their influence on phenomics,as well as challenges and opportunities in the applications to precision medicine.

The electrical and electronic waste or e-waste is the collection of used electrical and electronic components that are assigned for reuse or disposal through proper way without any hazardous consequences. The improper decomposition of the electrical and electronic waste leads to various constraints that leads to disturbances in the ecosystem. The highly toxic substances such as mercury and lead that are released from the electronic components may tend to penetrate in the ground which leads to degrade the soil fertility. This electrical and electronic components contain numerous nonrenewable resources such as silver, cobalt, copper and aluminum alloys and tend to destroy if they are not properly maintained and decomposed. This decomposition of electrical and electronic components are done with artificial intelligence technique to obtain with higher precision. This is accompanied through image processing with optimization techniques.

ABSTRACTBackgroundPrevious research has revealed that teaching self-efficacy could play a critical role in engaging students in integrated STEM education; however, teachers’ multiple identities in STEM education (i.e. implementers, disseminators, and designers) and their commitment with respect to the different identities have not been considered and *** study aimed to investigate STEM teachers’ self-efficacy and commitment as implementers, disseminators, and designers, and to explore the relationships between teachers’ self-efficacy and commitment with respect to the three ***629 secondary STEM teachers completed a questionnaire that included the items of teachers’ background information and 46 items to measure their self-efficacy and commitment with respect to the three *** compare the differences in teacher self-efficacy and commitment with respect to the three identities, repeated measures analyses of variance were used. A mixed-model analysis was conducted to examine the effects of both identity and experience with self-efficacy as a covariate on teacher commitment. Also, the structural equation modelling (SEM) method was employed to investigate the structural relationships within and between teacher self-efficacy and commitment with respect to the three *** results indicated that STEM teachers’ self-efficacy and commitment were influenced by their identities as well as their STEM teaching experience. STEM teachers’ self-efficacy and commitment to being implementers and designers were significantly higher than their self-efficacy and commitment to being disseminators. Additionally, the results of structural equation modelling indicated that teachers’ self-efficacy for the three identities was highly related, as was their commitment to the three identities. In recent years, the transmission rate of mobile network becomes insufficient to serve numerous mobile users. Relay technique has been proposed to improve the data rate of mobile networks for many years. In the paper, the planning problem of heterogeneous cellular network is defined and limited in two-hop relaying. The defined problem aims to tackle with three objective functions at the same time. A meta-heuristic planning algorithm is proposed based on Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm. The proposed ACO-based algorithm optimizes the placement results of macrocells, microcells and femtocells. In the simulation-based result and analysis, the ACO-based algorithm yields the higher capacity and more covered users with the lowest construction cost compared to the two heuristic algorithms, i.e., Top-Down and Bottom-Up algorithms. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.

This report describes the development and application of a flow photocatalytic reactor for the effective photodecomposition of organic compounds and the recovery of a targeted metal ion;specifically, we describe the decomposition of a gallium-ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (Ga-EDTA) complex. The system includes a scrubber, which increases the amount of dissolved oxygen in the solution before entering the photocatalytic reactor. First, the decomposition efficiency of the developed reactor is evaluated using dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). The decomposition of DMSO is accelerated upon introducing oxygen from the scrubber into the flowline. Second, we employ this system for the decomposition of Ga-EDTA and evaluate the recovery of a Ga radioisotope (RI), which can serve as a probe in positron emission tomography for medical diagnoses. The byproducts generated during Ga-EDTA photodecomposition are monitored by capillary electrophoresis, and the released Ga3+ concentrations are determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy for the stable isotope of Ga and with a scintillation detector for RI-Ga. After 30 min under ultraviolet irradiation, 54% of the RI-Ga released during the photodecomposition of 67Ga-EDTA was recovered. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Previous research has analyzed the meaning and value of STEM education and explored both its current possibilities and future development. However, STEM education experts have not reached a consensus on the goals of STEM education, making its promotion more challenging. Thus, this study examined which particular STEM education goals should be emphasized through a survey questionnaire. The study employed a stratified random sampling method to collect survey data from secondary teachers of STEM-related courses (i.e., science, technology, and mathematics) in Taiwan. A total of 645 valid survey responses were collected and then analyzed by independent t-test and analysis of variance to examine teachers’ perceptions about 17 critical competencies proposed as education goals relevant to STEM education. The findings revealed that STEM teachers generally had positive attitudes and high levels of acceptance toward implementing the 17 proposed STEM education goals through integrative STEM education. However, the proposed goal of "cultivating students’ entrepreneurial capabilities" received lower scores and should not be used at the secondary level. It may be introduced as an important education goal in tertiary STEM education. In addition, STEM teachers with different backgrounds (e.g., STEM teaching experience, perceptions of STEM teaching methods) perceived the competency goals as having different levels of importance in STEM education. Teachers’ willingness to teach STEM using a transdisciplinary integration method increases when they have access to sufficient resources and support. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature B.V.

Artificial vision can be elicited by stimulating the retina, which elicits flashes of light called phosphenes. For phosphenes to be utilized as part of a visual neuroprosthesis, images from one's visual surroundings must be recorded and translated into neural stimulation paradigms. While visual neuroprostheses have led to improvements in orientation and mobility for people with visual impairments, functionality is still limited. This is largely due to low resolution and a narrow field of view, and because artificial vision with current systems is so fundamentally different from natural vision. In this study, our goal was to evaluate if artificial vision could be delivered in a more strategic way for conveying information to visual prosthesis users. For example, blinking phosphenes could be used to signify imminent obstacles in one's surroundings. Four human participants who had Argus® II epiretinal prostheses performed a growing/shrinking object task and two variations of a blinking task. Just two out of the four participants could identify if a square pattern of phosphenes was growing or shrinking with better than chance accuracy. Only one individual could identify if a square/plus-sign pattern was growing or shrinking, with no participants achieving accuracy greater than 80%. All participants could determine whether a single virtual object was continuously visible or blinking at a rate of 1 Hz when stimulation pulse frequency was set to 6 Hz (accuracy $\geq 90\%$ ). When two virtual objects were shown, one blinking and one constant, at different ends of the visual field, only two participants could correctly report which side of the visual field contained the blinking stimulus. Based on these findings, we conclude that epiretinal neuroprostheses could incorporate single-object blinking as one form of visual feedback.

Rapid industrialization, increased industrial wastes, higher agricultural inputs, and mining have elevated heavy metal (HM) contamination. Authorized nuclear waste discharge, nuclear weapon testing, etc., led to dissipation of radionuclides (RNs), into the geo-environment. Thus, unregulated utilization of such detrimental toxic substances needs proper attention. Without adequate management, the risk of mobilisation of HMs and RNs to the food web through crops and animals channel results into biomagnifications. Worldwide Researchers have been attracted towards phytoremediation techniques to clean up the contaminated environment without causing further ecological disturbances. Consequently, we have reviewed the environmental concerns of HMs and RNs owing to their physical and chemical behavior in the environment. We have also discussed various phytoremediation techniques and post-phytoremediation methods for sustainable remediation of targeted contaminants. In addition to that, the review comprises essential aspects of enhancing phytoremediation strategy by applying various soil amendments such as biochar, organic matters, organic acid exudates, humic substances, and factors for selecting hyperaccumulator plants. Deliberation regarding the management of biomass generated during phytoremediation process is also highlighted. Therefore, we focus on assessing various post-phytoremediation management strategies, including proper disposal of contaminated biomass, preparation of bio sorbent, bio fuel, biogas, nanoparticles, and bio fortification of essential nutritionally important HMs into various foods. Besides this, future implications of such an enhanced plant mediated remediation process are also suggested. © 2021

We report the first laboratory and interstellar detection of the α-cyano vinyl radical (H2CCCN). This species was produced in the laboratory by an electric discharge of a gas mixture of vinyl cyanide, CH2CHCN, and Ne. Its rotational spectrum was characterized using a Balle-Flygare narrowband-type Fourier-transform microwave spectrometer operating in the frequency region of 8-40 GHz. The observed spectrum shows a complex structure due to tunneling splittings between two torsional sublevels of the ground vibronic state, 0+ and 0-, derived from a large-amplitude inversion motion. In addition, the presence of two equivalent hydrogen nuclei makes it necessary to discern between ortho- and para-H2CCCN. A least-squares analysis reproduces the observed transition frequencies with a standard deviation of ca. 3 kHz. Using the laboratory predictions, this radical was detected in the cold dark cloud TMC-1 using the Yebes 40 m telescope and the QUIJOTE1 line survey. The 40,4-30,3 and 50,5-40,4 rotational transitions, composed of several hyperfine components, were observed in the 31.0-50.4 GHz range. Adopting a rotational temperature of 6 K, we derived a column density of (1.4±0.2)*1011 cm-2 and (1.1±0.2)s*1011 cm-2 for ortho-H2CCCN and para-H2CCCN, respectively. The reaction of C + CH3CN emerges as the most likely route to H2CCCN in TMC-1, and possibly that of N + CH2CCH as well. © The Authors 2023.
