This paper proposes a pitch angle forecasting model based on the k-nearest neighbor classification. Air temperature, atmosphere pressure, wind direction, wind speed, rotor speed and wind power parameters were represented as a 6-dimensional attribute tuple in the forecasting model. Euclidean, Manhattan and Minkowski distance metrics for measuring the proximity between training and test tuples, mean absolute, mean absolute percentage, and normalized root mean square error metrics for measuring the forecasting accuracy were embedded into the forecasting model. The k-nearest neighbor classifier with Manhattan distance metric for k=1 achieved MAE, MAPE and NRMSE as 0.001°, 0.245% and 0.324%, respectively as the best forecasting accuracy. However, as the worst forecasting accuracy, MAE, MAPE and NRMSE were achieved as 0.015°, 3.236% and 2.613%, respectively for Minkowski distance metric and k=10.

The paper presents a ubiquitous system that uses semantic information to manage dynamic changes in system elements. We design the system using the Context-Controller-Action architecture that covers the main parts of ubiquitous environments, including: environment devices (such as sensors and actuators), contexts and actions, all of which may be dynamically configured during system operation. A graphical user interface for the system is supplied, which enables non-expert users to perform changes in system configuration. Internally, semantic information is used throughout the system to define a common language between devices, contexts and services. A Web services interface is used in services that handle environment devices to support their integration with the system regardless of internally used communication protocols. The architecture was implemented as a framework for developing and running applications in ubiquitous environments. We integrated a number of devices in the framework, including, RFID sensors, digital displays, cameras, electronic door locks and others. We also defined exemplary contexts and actions in the environment.

In the future scenario of transport and human mobility, the optimization of electric vehicles and their infrastructures (transport and energy supply) will be a key. This is the reason why it will have to provide adequate intelligent systems, both in electric vehicles and in infrastructures that provide service. Moreover, the development nowadays of Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED) and communications Machine To Machine (M2M) have enabled commercial solutions with relatively inexpensive cost. This paper discusses the design of M2M-based IED to develop a prototype with a flexible architecture, incorporating GPRS as wireless WAN solution and GPS technology to equip the system with geo-location functions, in order to cover future applications between electric vehicles and the different infrastructures to provide service.

The context of energy diversification of the electricity market has triggered that many users have decided to invest in their own micro-grid to meet their needs. Moreover, at present the concept of Smart Grid is driving that all entities involved in the electricity market tend to form an open network where everyone can interact with each other, including those who use renewable energy. This document explains how must be an Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) that allows the user to control their micro-grid, describing what must be the functionality and architecture of this system. In the article we describe the approach to parallel implementation of elementary operations for textual data categorization. In the experiments we evaluate parallel computations of similarity matrices and k-means algorithm. The test datasets have been prepared as graphs created from Wikipedia articles related with links. W also present the approach to computing pairs of eigenvectors and eigenvalues for visualizations of the datasets. The implemented basic operations: computing similarity matrix, data clustering and spectral analysis have been used in our system for visualization of the Wikipedia categories on SOM as well as in a system for categorization search results in Wikipedia.

This paper presents a motion estimation processor based on a dual-core architecture. Both cores are based on bit-serial adder trees. Memory structures are also described. This architecture is bit-precision reconfigurable. Performance results for several smartphones and tablets are presented. Furthermore, hardware results and comparison with other works are included. Real-time processing is achieved for all devices studied.
