In the realm of e-commerce customer support, the adoption of chatbots is on the rise, driven by a quest for heightened user interactions. This study introduces an inventive approach harnessing the advanced capabilities of GPT-4 to construct chatbot interfaces that are both context-aware and personalized. The main aim of this work is to revolutionize ecommerce customer support by developing intelligent and adaptable chatbot interfaces that are context-aware, personalized, and significantly enhance user experiences. Existing chatbot models struggle with context retention and personalization, limiting effectiveness in dynamic e-commerce environments despite the promise of automation. This innovative approach leverages GPT-4’s robust language processing, integrating it with user profiling systems for personalized responses grounded in user preferences and historical interactions. The method gives, diverse e-commerce dataset undergoes collection and pre-processing, followed by fine-tuning GPT-4 with an emphasis on context-awareness and personalized responses. The model is seamlessly integrated with e-commerce backend systems for real-time information, multimodal input support caters to varied user preferences. Results exhibit a significant 95% accuracy improvement, affirming the chatbot’s enhanced ability to comprehend user queries. By integrating personalization and advanced context retention, this study enhances user engagement, paving way for revolutionary intelligent and adaptable chatbot interfaces in ecommerce customer support.

With increasing numbers of mobile robots arriving in real-world applications, more robots coexist in the same space, interact, and possibly collaborate. Methods to provide such systems with system size scalability are known, for example, from swarm robotics. Example strategies are self-organizing behavior, a strict decentralized approach, and limiting the robot-robot communication. Despite applying such strategies, any multi-robot system breaks above a certain critical system size (i.e., number of robots) as too many robots share a resource (e.g., space, communication channel). We provide additional evidence based on simulations, that at these critical system sizes, the system performance separates into two phases: nearly optimal and minimal performance. We speculate that in real-world applications that are configured for optimal system size, the supposedly high-performing system may actually live on borrowed time as it is on a transient to breakdown. We provide two modeling options (based on queueing theory and a population model) that may help to support this reasoning.

Off-road driving operations can be a challenging environment for human conductors as they are subject to accidents, repetitive and tedious tasks, strong vibrations, which may affect their health in the long term. Therefore, they can benefit from a successful implementation of autonomous vehicle technology, improving safety, reducing labor costs and fuel consumption, and increasing operational efficiency. The main contribution of this paper is the experimental validation of a path tracking control strategy, composed of longitudinal and lateral controllers, on an off-road scenario with a fully-loaded heavy-duty truck. The longitudinal control strategy relies on a Non-Linear Model Predictive controller (NMPC), which considers the path geometry and simplified vehicle dynamics to compute a smooth and comfortable input velocity, without violating the imposed constraints. The lateral controller is based on a Robust Linear Quadratic Regulator (RLQR), which considers a vehicle model subject to parametric uncertainties to minimize its lateral displacement and heading error, as well as ensure stability. Experiments were carried out using a fully-loaded vehicle on unpaved roads in an open-pit mine. Feature engineering is a crucial step in building well-performing machine learning pipelines. However, manually constructing highly predictive features is time-consuming and requires domain knowledge. Although the research area of automated feature engineering has attracted much interest lately, both in academia and industry, the scalability and efficiency of the existing systems and tools are still practically unsatisfactory. This paper presents a scalable and interpretable automated feature engineering framework, BigFeat, that optimizes input features’ quality to maximize the predictive performance according to a user-defined metric. BigFeat employs a dynamic feature generation and selection mechanism that constructs a set of expressive features that improve the prediction performance while retaining interpretability. Extensive experiments are conducted, and the results show that BigFeat provides superior performance compared to the state-of-the-art automated feature engineering framework, AutoFeat, on a wide range of datasets. We show that BigFeat significantly improves the F1-Score of 8 classifiers by 4.59%, on average. In addition, the performance improvement achieved by integrating BigFeat into different AutoML frameworks is higher than that achieved by integrating AutoFeat into the same frameworks. Besides, the scalability of BigFeat is confirmed by its linear complexity, parallel design, and execution time which is, on average, 22x faster than AutoFeat.

The use of Agriculture Intelligent Systems (AISs) in Iraq has become popular among farmers. The greenhouse is a solution for plant growth, which uses an effective microclimate to simulate seasons and to use alternative energy sources like solar, thermal, and photovoltaic systems for microclimate control. Greenhouses are considered a successful solution with developments and achievements in the technology of this field. However, problems like high costs, difficulties in installation and maintenance, or the need for some procedures should be considered. Because Iraq is close to the equator (3669 km), it receives sufficient solar power. It also has large areas available for the building of solar greenhouse systems. The farmers need an affordable and functional smart greenhouse to enable and encourage them to use the environment efficiently. We intend to develop low-cost, accurate, and easy-to-use greenhouse systems controlled by artificial intelligence algorithms. Farmers will be able to control the greenhouse by using simple commands. Machine learning algorithms provide real-time and effective analysis that could support farmers in decision-making and provide relevant data for researchers and policymakers. AISs algorithms can lead to a sustainable and productive agriculture system. The system can be used in Iraq with sufficient government support and subsidy. © 2022 IEEE.

The paper proposes an interdisciplinary approach including methods from disciplines such as history of concepts, linguistics, natural language processing (NLP) and Semantic Web, to create a comparative framework for detecting semantic change in multilingual historical corpora and generating diachronic ontologies as linguistic linked open data (LLOD). Initiated as a use case (UC4.2.1) within the COST Action Nexus Linguarum, European network for Web-centred linguistic data science, the study will explore emerging trends in knowledge extraction, analysis and representation from linguistic data science, and apply the devised methodology to datasets in the humanities to trace the evolution of concepts from the domain of socio-cultural transformation. The skin lesion can be thought of as a biological system, so the morpho-granulometry of significant color clusters found in skin lesions is one of the elements that reproduce in a natural way the structure of the lesion, this novelty is highlighted in this study. Important features of skin lesions can be modulated by fusing neural networks (NN) and machine learning (ML). By choosing the nevus and melanoma classes, the primary goal was accomplished, and three databases were used to test the methodology. The characteristics based on morpho-granulometry allowed for the identification of microstructure within the images, which can be very helpful in characterizing the biological system. Based on random forest (RF) and extreme gradient boosting (XGboost) classifiers, this work aimed to improve the classification performance of important feature selection. The selected features from three free image databases with three NNs were classified. In a binary classification of nevus vs. melanoma, the results showed that the pattern recognition neural network (PRNN), according to the PH2 database, provided an accuracy of 0.923 and an F1-score of 0.876. The classification is interpretable if it is not validated. In our study, the best results were verified with a logistic regression (LR) classifier.

Aiming at the navigation problem of unmanned vehicles in extreme environments such as communication interference and limited GPS signals, this study proposes an autonomous navigation method based on binocular cameras. The method enables the unmanned vehicle to complete the task of localization and map building using only binocular images, without the need for other sensors or signal sources. Meanwhile, this study also proposes a local path planning obstacle avoidance method based on depth map, which, when combined with global localization information, can take into account both local obstacle avoidance and global path navigation, and can cope with random environmental changes. The system uses a single sensor for autonomous obstacle avoidance and navigation, which reduces the computational requirements and ensures the low cost of the navigation system. In order to verify the reliability and effectiveness of the system under signal-constrained conditions, the system is evaluated in a simulation environment and a real field scenario, respectively. The experimental results show that the system is able to achieve reliable localization and path planning under signal-constrained conditions.

This paper presents MIMIR-UW, a multipurpose underwater synthetic dataset for SLAM, depth estimation, and object segmentation to bridge the gap between theory and application in underwater environments. MIMIR-UW integrates three camera sensors, inertial measurements, and ground truth for robot pose, image depth, and object segmentation. The underwater robot is deployed within a pipe exploration scenario, carrying artificial lights that create uneven lighting, in addition to natural artefacts such as reflections from natural light and backscattering effects. Four environments totalling eleven tracks are provided, with various difficulties regarding light conditions or dynamic elements. Two metrics for dataset evaluation are proposed, allowing MIMIR-UW to be compared with other datasets. State-of-art methods on SLAM, segmentation and depth estimation are deployed and benchmarked on MIMIR-UW. Moreover, the dataset's potential for sim-to-real transfer is demonstrated by leveraging the segmentation and depth estimation models trained on MIMIR-UW in a real pipeline inspection scenario. In current granular clustering algorithms, numeric representatives were selected by users or an ordinary strategy, which seemed simple; meanwhile, weight settings for granular data could not adequately express their structural characteristics. Aiming at these problems, in this study, a new scheme called a granular weighted kernel fuzzy clustering (GWKFC) algorithm is put forward. We propose the representative selection and granularity generation (RSGG) algorithm enlightened by the density peak clustering (DPC) algorithm. We build interval and triangular granular data on the strength of numeric representatives obtained by RSGG under the principle of justifiable granularity (PJG), in which we establish some combinations of functions and boundary constraints and prove their properties. Furthermore, we present a novel distance formula via the kernel function for granular data and design new weights to affect the coverage and specificity of granular data. In addition, based upon these factors, we come up with the GWKFC algorithm of granular clustering, and its performance with different granularity is assessed. To sum up, a macro framework involving granular modeling, granular clustering, and assessment has been set up. Lastly, the GWKFC algorithm and ten other granular clustering algorithms are compared by experiments on some artificial and UCI datasets together with datasets with large data or those of high dimensionality. It is found that the GWKFC algorithm can provide better granular clustering results by contrast with other algorithms. The originality is embodied as follows. First, we improve the previous density radius and present the RSGG algorithm to acquire numeric representatives. Second, we propose a new strategy to determine granular data boundaries and further obtain novel weights enlightened by the idea of volume.
