This work presents a multifunctional chain for the redistribution of solar energy integrated in the single-phase grid in parallel with a non-linear load. This process is carried out using bidirectional converters and supported by the energy stored in electric vehicle's battery. The principle of extracting the maximum power produced by the solar panel is implemented by the Maximum Power Point Tracking's InC algorithm. The duty cycle managing the switching sequences of the bidirectional DC-DC converter is generated by the Generalized Predictive control (GPC) while the non-linear load inserted in the chain is identified using robust bias-compensated normalized maximum correntropy criterion (BCNMCC). Based on the latter method and the equivalent parameters of the battery and solar panel, a single-phase inverter control is performed. In the case of grid-connected power generation, a synchronization unit, namely the phase-locked loop (PLL), is indispensable in such a system. All the performances are evaluated in V2G and G2V modes on MATLAB/SIMULINK platform. © 2024 IEEE.

A new mechanism of missile agile turn and its control method are proposed for problem of missile attacking rear targets in this paper. Firstly, a new agile turn mechanism for missiles is defined;Secondly, the dynamic model for missiles with blended lateral thrusters and aerodynamic control systems including a deceleration parachute is established;Next, aiming at the singularity problem of traditional terminal sliding surface, a finite time convergent agile turn non-singular sliding mode controller is designed by using a segmented sliding surface;Then, the extended state observer is designed to eliminate control chattering, and the system stability is proven based on Lyapunov stability theory;Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed new mechanism of agile turn and the control method is proved through simulation and analysis. Compared with the traditional agile turn mechanism, the method proposed in this paper can significantly reduce the turning radius of the missile, while achieving greater terminal speed, the system states converge more quickly, the singularity problem and chattering are avoided. © 2024 IEEE.

Residual Carrying Capacity Evaluation and Parking Orbit Replanning for Lunar Exploration Launch Vehicle

To cope with the potential thrust-drop malfunction of the manned lunar exploration launch vehicle, a parking orbit replanning method is proposed based on the evaluation of the residual carrying capacity of the launcher. By analyzing the constraints of the whole flight profile and the characteristics of the Earth–Moon transfer orbit systematically, the offline trajectory planning algorithm exhibits improved convergence performance, and thus can be used to evaluate the residual carrying capacity as thrust-drop happens. For the situations that the launcher is not capable of injecting the transfer orbit, a sequential orbit/trajectory replanning method is designed to guarantee the safety of the astronauts. On the premise of ensuring the altitude of the parking orbit, the elements about the orbital plane are further optimized to provide a favorable initial state for the subsequent rescue action. Meanwhile, the nonlinearity of the terminal constraints is alleviated by the injection point forecast, and the initial reference is generated by convex optimization method with well convergence;thus, the solving efficiency of the sequential replanning algorithm can be improved. Simulation results show the proposed method can generate the trajectory that transport the spacecraft to the optimal parking orbit under the thrust-drop malfunction situation. Deep neural networks virtually dominate the domain of most modern vision systems, providing high performance at a cost of increased computational complexity. Since for those systems it is often required to operate both in real-time and with minimal energy consumption (e.g., for wearable devices or autonomous vehicles, edge Internet of Things (IoT), sensor networks), various network optimisation techniques are used, e.g., quantisation, pruning, or dedicated lightweight architectures. Due to the logarithmic distribution of weights in neural network layers, a method providing high performance with significant reduction in computational precision (for 4-bit weights and less) is the Power-of-Two (PoT) quantisation (and therefore also with a logarithmic distribution). This method introduces additional possibilities of replacing the typical for neural networks Multiply and ACcumulate (MAC—performing, e.g., convolution operations) units, with more energy-efficient Bitshift and ACcumulate (BAC). In this paper, we show that a hardware neural network accelerator with PoT weights implemented on the Zynq UltraScale + MPSoC ZCU104 SoC FPGA can be at least 1.4x more energy efficient than the uniform quantisation version. To further reduce the actual power requirement by omitting part of the computation for zero weights, we also propose a new pruning method adapted to logarithmic quantisation. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Solving the explicit model predictive control (MPC) problem entails enumerating a list of critical regions and their ancillary feedback laws. Unfortunately, their number and the time required to compute them increase exponentially with the problem size (state-space model dimension and length of the prediction horizon). We show that when, as it is often the case, the problem's constraints take the form of boxes or zonotopes, the resulting feasible domain can be compactly described as a constrained zonotope. Subsequently, we investigate whether, and under which circumstances, the combinatorial structure of the constrained zonotope interpretation accelerates the computation of the explicit solution. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to solve the problem of longitude convergence occurs in polar region, which leads to the lack of northbound reference and calculation overflow in the north-pointing inertial navigation system, we propose a polar region applicable integrated navigation algorithm. The algorithm constructs the transverse earth coordinate system, solves the problem of no north reference and calculation overflow in the polar region. By introducing GNSS-assisted navigation information, the polar SINS/GNSS filtering model is established, which solves the problem of periodic oscillation error in transverse inertial navigation and the accumulation of position error with time, and improves the accuracy of navigation parameters. Through simulation experiments, the results show that the algorithm can solve the problems of calculation overflow and oscillation error in polar navigation, improve the precision of polar navigation, and meet the requirements of polar navigation. © 2023 IEEE.

Quantum Neural Networks (QNNs) are an emerging technology that can be used in many applications including computer vision. In this paper, we presented a traffic sign classification system implemented using a hybrid quantum-classical convolutional neural network. Experiments on the German Traffic Sign Recognition Benchmark dataset indicate that currently QNN do not outperform classical DCNN (Deep Convolutuional Neural Networks), yet still provide an accuracy of over 90% and are a definitely promising solution for advanced computer vision. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In this paper the imperialist competitive algorithm is used for searching optimal value of parameters of fractional-order PID (FOPID) regulator which is applied for control system of legless capsubot robot. The tuning was done via minimization of selected cost functions with the use of imperialist competitive algorithm (ICA). Robots for automated assembly are being progressively implemented in the aerospace manufacturing sector. The dim and complex internal structure of the aircrafts significantly complicates the operation of robotic arms through visual system. This paper proposes an assembly strategy based on force-feedback control for fuel probe installation inside the aircraft wings, enabling autonomous assembly of tubular objects under translational and rotational misalignments. Furthermore, the Bees Algorithm (BA) is employed in a simulation environment to optimise the parameters of this control strategy. The results demonstrate that BA can effectively decrease the overall installation time while simultaneously proving the effectiveness of this method and its potential applicability in aerospace manufacturing. © 2024 IEEE.

In this tutorial some basic linear algebra problems: basis change and projection, are discussed together with examples of their applications in signal and image processing. In typical linear algebra university courses perpendicular projections are only discussed. However, in image processing, for defining various color spaces, we need non-perpendicular projections.
