Based on the parallel-triggered scheme, the stabilization problem is investigated for linear systems. By utilizing both the absolute and relative errors, a continuous parallel-triggered scheme is proposed. The proposed scheme reduces the number of data transmissions as well as maintains control performance. Under the proposed scheme, Zeno behavior can be excluded. Then, by using Lyapunov theory, sufficient criteria are established for the existence of state feedback controller and the observer-based controller. Next, a co-design approach is provided to obtain both weighting matrix of the triggered scheme and the gain of controller. Finally, the superiority of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by a numerical example.

We propose the design of event-triggered (ET) discrete-time sliding mode (DTSM) control for a high-order discrete-time system via a reduced-order model-based approach. This design includes a triggering mechanism using a reduced-order state vector and a controller based on the modified Bartoszewicz’ reaching law for a reduced-order model of the system, to stabilize the uncertain high-order system. The main advantages of using a reduced-order vector in the event condition are the low-order synthesis of the controller and the sampling pattern, which may be sparser than the full vector-based design. This motivation arises from the fact that relaxing a few components of the state vector in the triggering mechanism may decrease its rate of violation. An added advantage of the proposal is that the transmission of the reduced-order vector, particularly in a network-based implementation, can outperform the full-order based design due to the severe challenges that exist in the data network. The robust performance for the closed-loop system is achieved using the DTSM control. We show that our proposal guarantees the stability of the full-order plant with the reduced-order triggering mechanism. The control execution is Zeno-free because of the inherent discrete nature of the control. The efficiency of the proposed method is shown using the simulation results of a numerical example.

The interest on five phase induction motor drives is gradually increasing due to its wide variety of applications including electric vehicles, high compressor systems, ship propulsion etc. The designing of a proper controller to make 5-phase induction motor based electric drive is playing a vital role for many usages among many controllers, a direct torque controller (DTC) is a famous technique to achieve motor torque with fewer ripples. Moreover, Takagi Suguno - Fuzzy (TS-Fuzzy) controllers can provide fast response under rapid changes of inputs. Therefore, TS-Fuzzy based DTC of 5-phase induction motor drive is proposed in this paper. Further, the space vector modulation technique is implemented for obtaining proper pulse sequence for 5-phase inverter to drive the motor. In order to achieve smooth control of both torque and flux, two fuzzy logic controllers are deployed on the DTC of the motor. For better illustration, responses of the proposed TS-Fuzzy based DTC of 5-phase induction motor are compared with 3-phase motor. The proposed method is simulated and presented in this paper to analyze the performance of the proposed method under various conditions.

European single intra-day coupled electricity market (SIDC) trading activity has increased substantially in recent years mainly as a consequence of the increasing penetration of renewable energy production and its subsequent impact on imbalance market prices. Nonetheless, more research is needed to understand this growing market. This paper presents exploratory visual analytics tools for tradable contracts of the SIDC. The main visualisations are created from order and trade books and intended to increase our domain knowledge of the SIDC by monitoring market trends, behaviours, depth, price consensus and liquidity. Furthermore, previous contracts of SIDC volumes and balancing prices are visualised to identify trading opportunities and risks. We expect that the presented visual analytics will be useful for both practitioners and researchers seeking quick and easily implementable tools for acquiring additional market insights and developing manual or automated trading strategies.
