In this paper the 3-Dimensional Overhead Crane is the subject of study. The note includes the Euler-Lagrange equations of a 5 degrees of freedom, 5DOF, Overhead Crane and the design of a Second Order Sliding Mode controller in order to ensure the precise load transfer during the load movement despite of model uncertainties and un-modeled dynamics. Moreover, the system is under-actuated and 5DOF should be controlled with 3 control actions. The stability analysis is developed based on Lyapunov second method ensuring the finite time convergence to the desired sliding output. Simulations and Experimental results are presented.

This paper presents a comparison of different real time image grabbing methods using fire wire interface from HDV Sony camera. The techniques are designed to run in real-time using off-the-shelf hardware for use on an unmanned vehicle – helicopter. Our methodology is to know the limitations of the streaming grabbing because in further implementation we have to quickly detect candidate locations using our target localization methods which of course use the CPU time. The proposed techniques have been tested on a set of imagery from a live – test range with outstanding results.

The aim of this paper is to check whenever usage of sequence based neural networks for predicting compressed air demand can be useful in screw compressor room supervisory control systems. Industrial enterprises frequently employ compressed air systems to generate the compressed air needed for daily operations. Data was gathered from three different compressor rooms with different air demand characteristics and configuration over the period of one month. Then data was prepared, analyzed, trained and tested followed by simulation tests which determined usefulness of trained networks. Since nowadays high energy prices force energy saving build of the screw compressor itself the purpose of this text was to check if there is any room for optimization in less modern and also modern applications.
