This paper presents an algorithmic approach towards bounding the peak time-windowed average value attained by a state function along trajectories of a dynamical system. An example includes the maximum average current flowing across a power line in any 5 -minute window. The peak time-windowed mean estimation task may be posed as a finite-dimensional but nonconvex optimization problem in terms of an initial condition and stopping time. This problem can be lifted into an infinite-dimensional linear program in occupation measures, where no conservatism is introduced under compactness and dynamical regularity assumptions. The peak time-windowed mean estimation linear program is in turn truncated into a convergent sequence of semidefinite programs using the moment-Sum-of-Squares hierarchy. Bounds of the time-windowed mean are computed for example systems.

Time-domain moment matching-based model order reduction is an efficient technique that provides a family of parametrized reduced order models with identical moments evaluated in a set of points. The free parameters provide flexibility to impose additional constraints such as stability, passivity, and derivative matching. In this paper, for a single-input and single-output linear time-invariant system, we consider the problem of constructing a reduced-order model by balanced truncation via moment matching. We show that there exists an exo-system yielding a reduced order model with a desired controllability Gramian. Similarly, an exo-system of dual moment matching provides a reduced order model with a desired observability Gramian. Therefore, combining the two moment matching methods can yield a reduced order model by balanced truncation, opening a door to achieve model reduction by balanced truncation via moment matching

In this paper, we discuss a distributed control architecture, aimed at networks with linear and time-invariant dynamics, which is amenable to convex formulations for controller design. The proposed approach is well suited for large scale systems, since the resulting feedback schemes completely avoid the exchange of internal states, i.e., plant or controller states, among sub-controllers. Additionally, we provide state-space formulas for these sub-controllers, able to be implemented in a distributed manner. © 2021, CC BY.

The article analyzes the functioning of monitoring and positioning systems at complex technical objects. it is shown that when objects are located in remote areas, the absence of cellular communication is possible. To solve the problems of monitoring such territories, the complex application of such communication technologies as LoRa, Wi-Fi is considered. Based on the requirements for the monitoring system, a multilevel integrated model is proposed that allows using a unified approach to both hardware and software components of the system. Based on the proposed model, an experimental study of the positioning and monitoring system was carried out. The properties of the system operability have been confirmed under conditions of limited functioning of individual elements. © 2021 iEEE.

This paper presents a preliminary study on the use of machine learning-based methods to select the appropriate parameters of cascade filters in the analysis of brain signals recorded using functional infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), which shows the level of oxygenation in the brain and, unlike EEG signals (showing electrical brain activity), are less prone to potential interference, disturbances or artifacts occurrence.

The article presents the results of research on the implementation of a monitoring system with a spatio-temporal reference, based on the complex application of various technologies for wireless data transmission. A universal software platform in the concept of the Internet of Things is presented, based on which it is possible to implement various applications in the tasks of machine-to-machine communication. A Review of Neuro-ML Breakthroughs in Addressing Neurological Disorders

This research aims to explore the interdisciplinary connection between the field of neurology and artificial intelligence (AI) through machine learning (ML) algorithms. The central objective is to evaluate the current state of research in the Neuro-ML field and identify gaps in the literature that require additional approaches. To achieve this objective, 10 analyses were introduced that analyze the distribution of articles based on keywords, countries, years, publishers, and ML algorithms used in the context of neurological diseases. Surveys were also conducted to identify the diseases most frequently studied through ML algorithms. Thus, it was found that Alzheimer’s disease (37 articles for Support Vector Regression—SVR; 31 for Random Forest—RF), Parkinson’s disease (46 articles for SVM and 48 for RF), and multiple sclerosis (9 articles for SVM) are the most studied diseases in the field of Neuro-ML. The study analyzes Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and multiple sclerosis in detail by focusing on diagnosis. The overall results highlight an increase in researchers’ interest in applying ML in neurology, with models such as SVM (597 articles), Artificial Neural Network (525 articles), and RF (457 articles) being the most used. The results highlighted three major gaps: the underrepresentation of rare diseases, the lack of standardization in evaluating the performance of ML models, and the lack of exploration of algorithms with greater implementation difficulty, such as Extreme Gradient Boosting and Multilayer Perceptron. The value analysis of the performance metrics of ML models demonstrates the ability to correctly classify neuro-degenerative diseases, with high accuracy in some cases (for example, 97.46% accuracy in Alzheimer’s diagnosis), but there may still be improvements. Future directions include exploring rare diseases, investigating underutilized algorithms, and developing standardized protocols for evaluating the performance of ML models, which will facilitate the

During the last decades, intelligent mobile robots have been recognized as one of the most promising and emerging solutions used to fulfill material transport demands in intelligent manufacturing systems. One of the most significant characteristics of those demands is their multi-objectivity, where identified objectives might usually be in conflict. Therefore, obtaining the optimally scheduled robotic-based material transport system that is simultaneously faced with several conflicting objectives is a highly challenging task. In order to address such a challenge, this paper proposes a novel multi-objective Grey Wolf Optimizer (MOGWO) methodology to efficiently schedule material transport systems based on an intelligent single mobile robot. The proposed optimization methodology includes the comprehensive analysis and the mathematical formulation for 13 novel fitness functions, which are combined to form a Pareto front of the multi-objective optimization problem, as well as a novel strategy for optimal exploration of multi-objective search space. Moreover, four metrics, i.e., Generational Distance (GD), Inverted Generational Distance (IGD), Spacing (SP), and Maximum Spread (MS), are employed to quantitively evaluate and compare the effectiveness of the proposed enhanced MOGWO algorithm with two state-of-the-art metaheuristic methods (MOGA, MOAOA) on 25 benchmark problems. The obtained results achieved through two experimental scenarios indicate that the enhanced MOGWO algorithm outperforms other algorithms in terms of convergence, coverage, and robust optimal Pareto solution obtained. Finally, transportation paths based on obtained scheduling plans are experimentally validated by mobile robot RAICO (Robot with Artificial Intelligence based Cognition) within a physical model of the intelligent manufacturing environment. This paper presents a case study of a rotor fault occurring in the rotor generator of a steam power plant located in Lontar, Banten Province, Indonesia. The steam power plant has 3 x 315 MV capacity and uses hydrogen in the cooling system. The issue arising during the operation was caused by heat transfer exceeding the normal level. The grounding of the rotor occurred through rising vibration and temperature, tripping the generator unit. During repairs, the axial spacer was replaced with a new model, where it is longer than the original, adding a bar spacer at a previously unavailable position and creating a cooling track profile. This is a case study on the replacement of the axial spacer model aimed at preventing the expansion of the winding, so as not to touch with each other, through the installation of a longer axial spacer and the addition of the spacer bar, and lastly adding the track profile to the cooling hydrogen gas flow thereby maximizing the cooling process from the end winding rotor generator. Heat transfer is an analysed parameter related to the model change of the axial spacer. The addition of a track cooling gas flow has been able to maximize the heat transfer process, which is simulated in this paper. The performance of the rotor generator increased through several parameters after the replacement of the axial spacer model. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
