The problem of the rapid creation of effective web applications of one class using formal means is considered. A conceptual approach to its solution is offered based on an analysis of the peculiarities of the construction of web applications. Our approach is based on defining the standard web application architecture and selecting its components using formal methods in accordance with user requirements. A formal logical system is proposed that uses the design of web applications as a process of outputting a formula specified according to the needs of the user, which defines the schemes of execution of the modules of the system. An important feature of this approach is the ability to visualise the process of designing the system in 3D, which creates the conditions for effective interaction between developers and machine development tools.

Background: systems Medicine is a novel approach to medicine, that is, an interdisciplinary field that considers the human body as a system, composed of multiple parts and of complex relationships at multiple levels, and further integrated into an environment. Exploring systems Medicine implies understanding and combining concepts coming from diametral different fields, including medicine, biology, statistics, modeling and simulation, and data science. Such heterogeneity leads to semantic issues, which may slow down implementation and fruitful interaction between these highly diverse fields. Methods: In this review, we collect and explain more than100 terms related to systems Medicine. These include both modeling and data science terms and basic systems medicine terms, along with some synthetic definitions, examples of applications, and lists of relevant references. Results: This glossary aims at being a first aid kit for the systems Medicine researcher facing an unfamiliar term, where he/she can get a first understanding of them, and, more importantly, examples and references for digging into the topic. © Massimiliano Zanin et al., 2021;Published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. 2021.

The article presents selected issues related to the construction of a microprocessor pulse-oximeter. Pulse oximeters are non invasive medical devices that monitor level of the oxygen saturation of the splanchnic blood. The proposed principle of the system’s operation, presented in the paper, was implemented in the device constructed and tested in a laboratory. The selected results of laboratory examination of the proposed system are presented in the paper. It is potentially possible to implement this method of the oxygen saturation measurement to the contemporary textiles and intelligent clothes. The result of the laboratory examination of the exemplary patient is presented and it proofs proper operation of the proposed device. Selected issues related with proper implementation of the proposed device in the intelligent clothes are described and a proper solution of the potential problems is proposed.

The article presents selected issues related to the microprocessor pulso-oxymeter. Performance evaluation for CRUD operations in asynchronously replicated document oriented database

NoSQL databases are becoming increasingly popular as more developers seek new ways for storing information. The popularity of these databases has risen due to their flexibility and scalability needed in domains like Big Data and Cloud Computing. This paper examines asynchronous replication, one of the key features for a scalable and flexible system. Three of the most popular Document-Oriented Databases, MongoDB, CouchDB, and Couchbase, are examined. For testing, the execution time for CRUD operations for a single database instance and for a distributed environment with two nodes is taken into account and the results are compared with tests outcomes obtained for three relational database management systems: Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. In the laser - solid target experiments at ELI-NP, maximizing the availability of the laser system and hence the number of shots during a campaign is envisaged. One of the factors that affects this is the time for preparing the experiment and the time for changing the targets between shots. In this paper we present a method for automatic rough alignment of various experimental setup instruments like the target frames, microscopes and diagnostics. Giving the impossibility to define a global reference system that captures precisely enough the relative position of all equipment in a continuously changing experimental setup, the method developed is using relative optical measurements using fiducial markers. The method is conceived to be used along with other micron-level alignment methods as a pre-alignment phase. Along this work, a setup and the algorithms were developed in order to test the accuracy of the method. First tests revealed a rough alignment accuracy between 100-200μm which was achieved using only a low resolution imaging camera. The accuracy can be further improved using higher resolution imaging systems or by developing new key points in the algorithm that are discussed at the end of the paper. © 2018 Institute of Physics Publishing. The main goal of the paper is to study the equilibria of a nonlinear system, proving the existence and uniqueness of an equilibrium point in the positive ortant. We also provide numerically tractable conditions (by using Linear Matrix Inequalities techniques) to check the asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point. An illustrative numerical example is closing the paper along with some conclusions. © 2018, Politechnica University of Bucharest. All rights reserved.

Efficient Linearized Model of Pressurizer system in Pressurized Water Reactors for control Purposes

The pressurizer has an important role to ensure the protected operation of pressurized water reactor (PWR) by keeping the reactor coolant system pressure among allowed tolerances. In this paper, a non-equilibrium two-region nonlinear pressurizer (PZR) model was linearized using Taylor technique to introduce the linear models of pressurizer transients for the controller design purposes. Taylor series expansion of functions around an equilibrium point was calculated. The same assumptions of the reference model are considered in linearized model. The linearized model consists of five states; rate of changes for: mass of steam &water in the PZR, mass of water in the PZR, mass of water in the PC, steam temperature in PZR, and water temperature in PZR. The nonlinear and linear PZR models was implemented in MATLAB/Simulink. The linearized model of PZR is verified. The performance of linearized model of PZR and nonlinear model is consistent with small and acceptable errors. The closed-loop of the linearized model of PZR pressure and water level is implemented and investigated using standard Proportion-Integration-Differentiation (PID) controllers. Simulation results and the evaluation performance indicate that the proposed linear model of PZR is efficient, and it can be used for control purposes.

Feature design and selection is one of the first steps towards successful fault detection and diagnosis. Data from different sources can contain complimentary information about a monitored system. Hence methods which fuse features from multiple sources can often detect and diagnose a greater number of fault modes with higher confidence. However, solutions that require data from multiple sensors as inputs can be susceptible to failure if one or more of those sensors cease to function. Optimally a solution will fuse data from a sufficient number of sensors so that the advantages of sensor fusion are realized, while the robustness of the system is retained. In this paper the authors investigate how the best subset of features might differ for fault detection and fault severity diagnosis in a multiphase flow facility case study. ReliefF, which is a K-nearest neighbors-based feature selection filter, is used to rank the features for different problems. The dataset used for the analysis contains data from various operating conditions and induced faults with various severities. It was found that the optimal subset of features varied for different monitoring problems. It was also shown that including features that are ranked as being uninformative into a fault classifier can also impact the robustness of the classifier to sensor failures.

Memetic Algorithms (MAs) are a class of stochastic global search heuristics in which Evolutionary Algorithms (EAs) - based approaches are combined usually with heuristic local searches. This hybridization is meant to reach solutions that would otherwise be unreachable by evolution or a local method alone. In this work, we propose three Local Search (LS) algorithms for hybridization with an existing Evolutionary Algorithm with Pareto ranking in order to define biological intelligence using the concepts of useful and utility and therefore to zoom on the basin of attraction of promising realistic solutions. Our experimental results with these memetic algorithms in the game of Checkers show how we can learn the organization of behaviors into paths of behaviors of different lengths and frequencies and then reveal the true nature of these behaviors.
