In this paper results of the application of a hybrid Fault Detection and Isolation scheme are presented. A Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is used to describe the system and a type of sliding mode observers are designed to estimate the system state vector; from this, the diagnostic signal-residual is generated by the comparison of measured and estimated output. Neural Networks are proposed in order to solve the fault isolation problem based on signal-residual. The faulted component is identified from the active signal-residuals by means of the application of the presented technique based on neural networks. This paper shows an application of the fault diagnosis technique, which was satisfactorily tested in a two-tank hydraulic system.

The current situation of environmental resources requires their efficient usage through efficient process control. But, process control can not be achieved without an essential component: the communication between all devices, such as sensors, controllers, actuators, programming stations etc. The aim is to achieve the irrigation process of plants in greenhouse conditions. Therefore, it is submitted a comprehensive application that proposes to be a distributed controlsystem including data acquisition and processing, both local and remote monitoring of the process parameters. The distributed system is based on modern equipment: Siemens Simatic PLCs and HMI, Memsic e̅Ko Pro wireless sensors network, level sensors for irrigation tanks and actuators such as on/off valves and pumps. In terms of communication between equipments, an industrial bus and protocols were used - Profinet and wireless communication. The software part is provided by TIA Portal with STEP 7 and WinCC flexible RT and LOGO! Soft Comfort for programming the automation devices. ModbusTCP was used to develop the communication protocol between central devices.
Analysis of various adaptive feedforward vibration compensation schemes has shown that a strictly positive real (SPR) condition has to be satisfied in order to guarantee the stability of the whole system (Jacobson, Jo...

The paper will compare the performances which can be obtained using a direct adaptive regulation scheme based on the Youla-Kučera (YK) parametrization of the controller and using an adaptive finite impulse response (FIR) filter for implementing the internal model of the disturbance with a new indirect adaptive regulation scheme. The main features of this new scheme are: (i) the use of adaptive Band-stop Filters (BSFs) tuned at the frequencies of the disturbance instead of the Internal Model Principle (IMP) and (ii) a procedure for direct identification of frequencies contained in the disturbance. The use of adaptive BSFs allows to introduce the desired attenuation of the disturbance (instead of total rejection) and allows to get a much better shaping of the output sensitivity function (to meet the specification for the tolerated amplification outside the frequencies of the disturbance). The two approaches are comparatively evaluated on the benchmark simulator and on the benchmark active vibration controlsystem.
