Training summarization models requires substantial amounts of training data. However for less resourceful languages like Hungarian, openly available models and datasets are notably scarce. To address this gap our paper introduces HunSum-2 an open-source Hungarian corpus suitable for training abstractive and extractive summarization models. The dataset is assembled from segments of the Common Crawl corpus undergoing thorough cleaning, preprocessing and deduplication. In addition to abstractive summarization we generate sentence-level labels for extractive summarization using sentence similarity. We train baseline models for both extractive and abstractive summarization using the collected dataset. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the trained models, we perform both quantitative and qualitative evaluation. Our dataset, models and code are publicly available, encouraging replication, further research, and real-world applications across various domains. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Data augmentation methods for neural machine translation are particularly useful when limited amount of training data is available, which is often the case when dealing with low-resource languages. We introduce a novel augmentation method, which generates new sentences by swapping objects and subjects across bisentences. This is performed simultaneously based on the dependency parse trees of the source and target sentences. We name this method TreeSwap. Our results show that TreeSwap achieves consistent improvements over baseline models in 4 language pairs in both directions on resource-constrained datasets. We also explore domain-specific corpora, but find that our method does not make significant improvements on law, medical and IT data. We report the scores of similar augmentation methods and find that TreeSwap performs comparably. We also analyze the generated sentences qualitatively and find that the augmentation produces a correct translation in most cases. Our code is available on Github1. © 2023 Incoma Ltd. This paper presents an original theoretical framework to model steel material properties in continuous casting line process. Specific properties arising from non-Newtonian dynamics are herein used to indicate the natural convergence of distributed parameter systems to fractional order transfer function models. Data driven identification from a real continuous casting line is used to identify model of the electromagnetic actuator device to control flow velocity of liquid steel. To ensure product specifications, a fractional order control is designed and validated on the system. A projection of the closed loop performance onto the quality assessment at end production line is also given in this paper.

Application of Robust control Toolbox for Time Delay Systems implemented in the Matlab system to the oscillating plant with uncertain time delay and astatism using the D-K iteration and algebraic approach. The algebraic approach combines the structured singular value, algebraic theory and algorithm of global optimization solving remaining issues in structured singular value framework. The algorithm for global optimization can be alternated with direct search methods such as Nelder-Mead simplex method giving solutions for problems with one local extreme. As a global optimization method, Differential Migration is used proving to be reliable in solving this type of problems. The D-K iteration represents a standard method in the structured singular value theory. The results obtained from the D-K iteration are compared with the algebraic approach. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper explains in detail the development, validation and simulation of a standard PI controller that can boost the WECS (Wind energy conversion system) power through two strategies. In the first strategy, the power is boosted by increasing the generator angular velocity through the direct increase of the angular velocity of the wind turbine rotor by slightly pitching the blades. In the second strategy, the power is boosted by increasing the load torque of the generator, through the direct increase of the load torque of the wind turbine rotor. For achieving this goal, the following tasks have been accomplished: a wind energy conversion system nonlinear mathematical model has been developed, a gain scheduled proportional-integral (PI) controller as the baseline controller, and two gain scheduled proportional-integral (PI) power-boosting controllers for the two power-boosting strategies. For the power-boosting controllers, it is also presented a logic that switches between baseline and power booster controllers when certain wind speeds conditions are met. The response, stability, performance and the increase in the shaft torsion, tower and blades bending moments of the gain scheduled PI power-boosting controllers have been compared with the baseline controller. By comparing the output power response of the controllers, it can be seen that the power booster controllers boost the power when the defined conditions are met. Finally, for boosting the power of a WECS in certain conditions the most efficient way is by increasing the generator load torque, because this strategy increases the least the loading of the main components of a WECS. This power boosting strategy implementation it might require the change (or reinforcement) of the drive train shaft, if it cannot take the extra loading created by power boosting controller. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper presents an experimental study that compares the performance of four selected metaheuristic algorithms for optimizing a time delay system model. Time delay system models are complex and challenging to optimize due to their inherent characteristics, such as non-linearity, multi-modality, and constraints. The study includes an explanation of the choice and core functionality of the selected algorithms, which are both baseline and state-of-the-art variants of self-organizing migrating algorithm (SOMA), state-of-the-art variant from the Success-History-based Adaptive Differential Evolution family of algorithms, with emphasis on diverse search (DISH algorithm), and Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy (CMA-ES) algorithm. The hyperparameters of the metaheuristic algorithms were set using the iRace automatic algorithm configuration framework. The paper emphasizes the importance of metaheuristic algorithms in control engineering for time-delay systems to develop more effective and efficient control strategies and precise model identifications. The experimental results highlight the effectiveness of the state-of-the-art algorithms with specific adaptive mechanisms like population organization process, diverse search and adaptation mechanisms ensuring a gradual transition from exploration to exploitation. Overall, this study contributes to understanding the challenges and advantages of using metaheuristic algorithms in control engineering for time delay systems. The results provide valuable insights into the performance of modern metaheuristic algorithms and can help guide the selection of appropriate adaptive mechanisms of metaheuristics. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper discusses the design of a robust H∞ controller for satellite systems that exhibit changes in its inertia matrix within a range of ±5%. Using MATLAB Simulink, the proposed approach is a Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) by LMILAB Semidefinite programming solver in YALMIP. Simulation results demonstrate the controller’s effectiveness in stabilizing the system against disturbance and maintaining performance despite variations in the inertia matrix. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The successful verification of the authenticity of banknotes, or the detection of counterfeits, is based on the combination of an effective measuring system and computer technology. In this paper, a modern diagnostic method Raman microscopy together with an exploratory tool for processing and interpreting multi-dimensional datasets, and cluster analysis, are used to study structural differences between paper and orange ink used on genuine banknotes. Six currencies of European countries were selected for this study: Croatian kuna, Czech crown, euro, Great British Pound, Polish zloty, and Swiss franc. Raman microscopy offers non-destructive, rapid analysis without any sample preparation and pre-processing, with the potential to recognize structural modification of substances, together with the advantages of optical microscopy. Cotton fibres, TiO2 in two different modifications, and other additives are successfully identified within the spectra. The patterns found in mathematically processed Raman data, especially between the paper, indicate both, the similarities and differences across the various banknotes, even of the same currency. The results serve as a base of the spectral database for authenticity control of banknotes and classification of the materials used. © 2022 IEEE.
