Home automationsystems based on wireless sensor/actuator networks are characterized by diversity of node power sources, limited computational power, and mobility. We propose a routing protocol that fully uses the location of static nodes to limit the search for a route to a small zone based on the analysis of characteristics and requirements. The calculation of two different kinds of zone and the route discovery procedure are described in this paper. According to the environment of home automation, we compared the performance of our routing protocols with the ad-hoc on-demand distance-vector protocol using simulation and gave suggestions for zone selection. Simulation results showed that our routing protocol dramatically reduced the routing overhead and increased the reliability.

This paper proposes a simulator-based foresight control approach for nonlinear plant based on system identification. In the proposed method, as a main part of the simulator-based foresight controlsystem, a simulator of an exact plant model of non-affine nonlinear plant is first constructed. If relative degree of disturbance is smaller than control input, servo type filter will be then installed in series of disturbance line in order to adjust relative degree. Next, a control target equation which defines pole assignment for stable output error convergence is determined. Based on this control target equation, the control input for non-affine type nonlinear plant is generated. In this paper, the control of a boiler was implemented by use of the proposed method. The simulation results verified the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Active yaw stabilization for passenger vehicles, following driver yaw rate commands with steer-by-wire and rear break force distribution, is discussed. The problem is solved via a decomposition of the vehicle equations of motion into a static, scheduled tyre characteristics map, and an affine Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) plant. control is provided via a cascade connection of scheduled inverse tyre characteristics and an LPV controller, handling both the nonlinear dynamics an the non-affine tyre characteristics. The train regulation problem is of particular importance among the scheduling problems found in mass transit systems, being characterized by trains running in urban regions taking passengers from one location to another. If the desired headway between trains, dwell-times in platforms and running times between platforms are determined and known a-priori, the steady state solution (timetable) can be calculated. However, real systems are subject to disturbances such as passengers preventing doors from closing, mechanical or electrical failures, etc., that can deviate the trains from the steady state. In this context, this work is concerned with the determination of a control law, i.e. a law for the determination of the arrival and departure times of each train on each platform in the system's cycles in order to reestablish and maintain the timetable (reference solution). The proposed control law is based on max-plus algebra concepts. The desired arrival and departure times of each train on each platform are calculated from the last occurrence instants of the system's events and from a set of matrices defined in max-plus algebra.

This paper presents a new practical backup power supply connection scheme for distribution line non-communication protection (DNCP). Simulation tests have been conducted using the alternate transient program (ATP) with respect to a typical single circuit breaker multi-section system. The results prove that the new scheme is able to not only recover the power supply of loads on healthy lines automatically, but also create disturbances in favor of accelerated over current (AOC) criterion. Aiming at the failure of directional under voltage (DUV) criterion derived from high voltage and large capacity induction motor load, a novel criterion using the increment of reactive power is proposed.

Firstly, the paper takes National Topographic Database by assuming DEM (digital elevation model) with 1:250,000 scale as a data source, extracts simulated drainage network by using Arc Hydro Tools 9.2. Secondly, a new coding method is presented, which can reflect the topology of drainage network. It becomes easily to locate any reach of drainage network directly and operate the topology of drainage network effectively. Finally, this coding method is applied to Hunhe drainage system of Liaohe basin. The successful application proves that the self-replicating code has excellent expansibility and high efficiency, and can be handled easily by the computer.
