A semi-supervised method using cycle consistency and multi-perspective dilated for SAR-to-optical translation

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a powerful imaging sensor capable of operating in any weather and at any time, despite its image interpretation poses challenges. Translating SAR images to optical (S2O) can serve as a beneficial supplement for target detection, image alignment, and image fusion. The existing S2O translation employs solely unsupervised or supervised techniques. This research presents a semi-supervised S2O generating approach that can obtain domain-level and pixel-level mapping relationships. A dual-branch cycle consistency loss has been developed to independently constrain supervised and unsupervised modules. To improve global and sparsity feature extraction, the generator combines sliding dilated convolution with multi-respective parallel branching. Using just 1,100 pairs of training sets, extensive experiments have demonstrated that the suggested strategy outperforms baseline methods in both subjective and objective standards, where Fréchet inception distance (FID) is optimized by 23.41%, 49.25%, 48.57%, 16.73%, and 42.32% on the five land classes. © 2025 The Authors

Solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) are a highly efficient hydrogen production technology, but thermal stresses induced by temperature gradient under high temperature may accelerate performance degradation and cause equipment damage. Optimizing operating parameters to balance efficiency and thermal safety is critical to addressing these challenges. Existing optimization methods primarily rely on numerical simulations and experimental validations, but their high time and economic costs limit practical applications. To overcome this challenge, this study proposes a performance optimization method that, unlike conventional models, considers thermal safety constraints and rapidly determines optimal SOEC operating conditions with varying power inputs. By integrating the deep neural network with a one-dimensional multiphysics field model, the method leverages data generated by complex multiphysics field model to train the network and systematically analyze the effects of different operating conditions on SOEC stack power and efficiency. Subsequently, the slime mold algorithm is employed to efficiently optimize operating parameters under power and thermal constraints, achieving maximum SOEC efficiency and providing theoretical support for future dynamic control strategies. © 2025 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC

Induction heating is widely used in industrial furnaces because of its rapid response time and high energy efficiency. To design and optimize these furnaces, computer-aided simulations are essential. This study aims to develop an accurate temperature field model for a square cross-section steel billet in an induction furnace by leveraging various parameters in COMSOL Multiphysics software. The simulation analysis incorporated temperature dynamics, considering skin depth, temperaturedependent, and constant parameters of the steel billet. The datadriven model was converted into a state-space representation utilizing MATLAB's System Identification Toolbox. This conversion facilitated the design of a Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) with integral gain and pole placement. Further, these controllers' performance was analyzed, and controllers were successfully implemented to regulate the temperature field of the billet from initial temperature to reference temperature, utilizing the distributed parameter system control circuit.

A Profit-Oriented Attack by Virtual Power Plants for Economic Risk Transfer: Profitability Analysis and Defense Strategy

Virtual power plants (VPP) may face the risk of economic losses arising from the deviation between day-ahead schedule and real-time energy delivery. This article introduces a novel profit-oriented attack by some greedy VPP (G-VPP) for the first time, which aims to transfer its risk of economic losses to other normal VPPs (N-VPPs) and obtain a risk-free profit. Particularly, the G-VPP launches the load-altering attack (LAA) on N-VPPs to fail their real-time (RT) generation schedule via modifying the generation instructions of the managed resources. The optimal LAA strategy considering stealthiness is proposed to avoid priori detection and the optimal bidding strategy using CVaR is proposed to quantify bidding risk and maximize profit. To defend against such profit-oriented attacks, this article constitutes the first attack traceability research. A defense scheme with attack detection and attacker identification is proposed, which is executed by VPPs and the independent system operator (ISO). VPPs employ an attack detection algorithm based on complex features, and if any, report it to the ISO. The ISO constructs a knowledge graph of electricity market transactions and embeds a rules-based identification algorithm to identify suspected attackers. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the defense scheme and Neo4j is used to visualize. © 2007-2012 IEEE.

Li4Ti5O12 (LTO) anode is a promising candidate for high-energy–density lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), but achieving high mass loading, a porous structure, and efficient ion transport remains a challenge. Herein, we present a high-mass-loading, hierarchically porous LTO anode with a conductive network and grid-lined micropores, embedded with a metal–organic framework (MOF) as both an electrode additive and surface protective layer. This novel structure is fabricated using extrusion-based three-dimensional (3D) printing technology. The self-standing framework provides mechanical stability and high conductivity, enabling a thick (316 μm) 3D-printed LTO@UiO-66-MOF (3D-LTO@U) anode with a mass loading of 11 mg/cm2. It delivers a high-rate capability of 161 mAh/g at 5C, an areal specific capacity of 5.37 mAh/cm2, and 78.9 % areal capacity retention after 150 cycles. Additionally, it achieves a high specific energy density of 382.35 Wh/kg. The UiO-66 MOF provides strong binding affinity, suppressing side reactions and enhancing Li-ion/electron transport within the 3D-printed interconnected channels. This improves active material utilization during charge and discharge. Furthermore, a 3D-printed full cell integrating a grid-lined 3D-LTO@U anode and a 3D-printed LiFePO4 cathode exhibits enhanced electrochemical performance. This work demonstrates an effective strategy for designing thick, high-mass-loading, and porous conductive network anodes for advanced LIBs. © 2025 Elsevier Inc.

Image Restoration Phase-Filtering Lateral Superresolution Confocal Microscopy

Image restoration phase-filtering lateral superresolution confocal microscopy, a new approach, is proposed to achieve lateral superresolution using a confoeal microscope. This approach uses a lateral superresolution pupil filter to preliminarily improve its lateral resolution and uses a siagle-image superresolution restoration technique based on a maximum likelihood estimate to further improve its lateral resolution. The new approach has the advantages of a low cost and the remarkable superresolution effect without excessive system complexity. Experiments indicate that the proposed approach can improve the lateral resolution of a confocal microscope from 0.3μm to less than 0.1 μm when λ = 632.8 nm and NA=0.85.

Nonlinear composite bilateral control framework for n-DOF teleoperation systems with disturbances

This paper proposes a new nonlinear composite bilateral control framework for n-degree-offreedom(n-DOF) teleoperation systems with external disturbances. Different with the existing methods which usually regard the dynamics of the master and slave robots as linear impedance models, the proposed control framework fully considers the nonlinear dynamics of the n-DOF teleoperation systems. Central to the proposed framework is the utilization of nonlinear disturbance observers for estimating the disturbances in master and slave robot systems. The nonlinear composite bilateral controller is constructed by incorporating the disturbance estimations into the nonlinear feedback linearization controller. The proposed control method guarantees satisfactory position tracking performance and desired remote force haptic simultaneously for the n-DOF teleoperation systems with external disturbances. The effectiveness of the proposed control framework is validated by its applications on 2-DOF teleoperation systems.

Generalization and propagation of spiraling Bessel beams with a helical axicon

A generalized type of spiral Bessel beam has been demonstrated by using a spatially displaced helical axicon （HA）. The topological charge of the spiraling Bessel beams is determined by the order of the input Laguerre Gaussian （LG） beam and the topological charge of the HA. The obtained spiraling Bessel beams have an LG type of modulation along their propagation direction and exhibit annihilation-reconstruction properties. Theoretical analysis is presented, including that of the stability, propagation distance, topological charge, and spiraling dynamic characteristics. The mathematical and numerical results show that the propagation distance and helical revolution of the spiraling Bessel beams can be controlled through choosing appropriate radius of the HA.

The speed regulation problem with only speed measurement is investigated in this paper for a permanent magnet direct current(DC)motor driven by a buck *** lumping all unknown matched/unmatched disturbances and uncertainties together,the traditional active disturbance rejection control(ADRC)approach provides an intuitive solution for the problem under ***,for such a higher-order disturbed system,the increase of poles for the extended state observer(ESO)therein will lead to drastically growth of observer gains,which causes severe noise *** paper aims to propose a new model-based disturbance rejection controller for the converter-driven DC motor system using *** of estimating lumped disturbances directly,a new observer is constructed to estimate the desired steady state of control signal as well as errors between the real states and their desired steady-state ***,a controller with only speed measurement is proposed by utilizing the *** performance of the proposed method is tested through experiments on *** is further shown via numerical calculations and experimental results that the poles of the observer within the proposed control approach can be largely increased without significantly increasing magnitude of the observer gains.
