Hydrostatic transmissions, also called hydrostatic gears, have been widely used in mobile working machines and off-road vehicles such as construction and agricultural machines. This kind of transmission offers important advantages like continuously variable transmission with high power density, maximum tractive force at low speeds and reversing without changing gear. The automatic electronic control of hydrostatic transmissions, which depend on a number of measurable values, has become more common in industrial practice. To ensure the reliability and safety at least a two-channel redundant system for the measuring channels is required. In this paper, a general model-based approach using a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy observer for analytical redundancy of the oil pressure measuring process in hydrostatic transmissions is developed. It has been shown by experimental results that this approach can be used to estimate the pressure values under varying load conditions and different driving situations. © 2010 IFAC.

Simulation model of laser transmission and detection through cumulus

We have developed a simulation model of laser transmission and Detection through cumulus. Based on successive-order-of-scattering approach, the model describes the transmission process of the laser beam under the impact of various media which are mainly cumulus in atmosphere. In this model, the factors affecting the laser transmission include aerosol, atmospheric molecules and water vapor molecules. The distribution of liquid water droplets in cumulus is described by two-dimensional model and Mie theory is used to calculate the optical parameters. In the life cycle of cumulus, the results can correctly describe the trends of laser power respect to target height and water droplets distribution of cumulus. The model can meet the requirements of real-time simulation. The model simulation process depends on the support of several parameters including equipment geometric parameters, atmospheric optical parameters and others. © 2011 by Binary Information Press.

A novel blind source extraction algorithm for ill-conditioned mixtures

A new contrast function is proposed to solve blind extraction problem from ill-conditioned mixtures of Gaussian and sub-Gaussian signals, or mixtures of Gaussian and super-Gaussian signals. Firstly, we point out the limitation of the existing contrast function for hybrid mixtures. Then the new contrast function based on fourth order cross cumulants and the covariance is presented. In addition, it is proved that minimizing the new contrast function would lead to separation of the extractable sources, and the classic Gaussian-Newton method is applied to accomplish the minimizing process. Simulation results, for both nonsingular mixing matrix case and singular mixing matrix case (ill-conditioned case), validate the sequential blind extraction algorithm in which the proposed contrast function is used. © 2012 Binary Information Press.

Motion planning is one of the most significant technologies for autonomous driving. To make motion planning models able to learn from the environment and to deal with emergency situations, a new motion planning framework called as"parallel planning" is proposed in this paper. In order to generate sufficient and various training samples, artificial traffic scenes are firstly constructed based on the knowledge from the reality.A deep planning model which combines a convolutional neural network(CNN) with the Long Short-Term Memory module(LSTM) is developed to make planning decisions in an end-toend mode. This model can learn from both real and artificial traffic scenes and imitate the driving style of human ***, a parallel deep reinforcement learning approach is also presented to improve the robustness of planning model and reduce the error rate. To handle emergency situations, a hybrid generative model including a variational auto-encoder(VAE) and a generative adversarial network(GAN) is utilized to learn from virtual emergencies generated in artificial traffic scenes. While an autonomous vehicle is moving, the hybrid generative model generates multiple video clips in parallel, which correspond to different potential emergency scenarios. Simultaneously, the deep planning model makes planning decisions for both virtual and current real scenes. The final planning decision is determined by analysis of real observations. Leveraging the parallel planning approach, the planner is able to make rational decisions without heavy calculation burden when an emergency occurs.

The problem of reachable set estimation for linear systems subject to both time delay and polytopic uncertainties is considered in this paper. Our aim is to find a set as small as possible to bound the states starting from the origin by inputs with peak values. The Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional together with free-weighting matrix technique are proposed to derive some sufficient conditions for the existence of an ellipsoidal bound to estimate the states. This method eliminates the conservatism generated by Jensen's inequality and obtains a much tighter reachable set bound. In addition, the number of variables to be determined is smaller than the previous result based on the maximal Lyapunov functional. Finally, an example illustrates the merits of our proposed results. © 2012 IFAC.

This paper fucuses on the global control problem for a class of upper-triangular nonlinear systems whose linearization around the origin is not guaranteed to be controllable. Assuming that the nonlinearities satisfy the homogeneous growth conditions, a nonsmooth state-feedback controller is elaborately constructed based on the adding a power integrator technique and the homogeneous domination approach. By introducing the dynamic gain to deal with the input dependent growth rate, it can be proved that all the signals of the closed-loop system are bounded and the system states converge to the origin asymptotically.

This study employs nine distinct deep learning models to categorize 12,444 blood cell images and automatically extract from them relevant information with an accuracy that is beyond that achievable with traditional *** work is intended to improve current methods for the assessment of human health through measurement of the distribution of four types of blood cells,namely,eosinophils,neutrophils,monocytes,and lymphocytes,known for their relationship with human body damage,inflammatory regions,and organ illnesses,in particular,and with the health of the immune system and other hazards,such as cardiovascular disease or infections,more in *** results of the experiments show that the deep learning models can automatically extract features from the blood cell images and properly classify them with an accuracy of 98%,97%,and 89%,respectively,with regard to the training,verification,and testing of the corresponding datasets.

Infrared (IR) and visible images are commonly used in the detection and tracking of a moving target. A novel contour extraction scheme for a moving vehicle is proposed in this paper. Firstly, a motion segmentation technology is applied to get an initial contour. Secondly, a dynamic contour is applied to represent the initial contour and then converges to the target's contour. Lastly, a novel image fusion is proposed, which minimizes the B-spline norm's square of control point vector's difference in two modal images. Image registration is not required. The experiment indicates that for visible images, average contour extraction error decreases by 58.14% after the fusion. Moreover, a fast iteration algorithm of dynamic contour based on the Newmark algorithm is devised. This image fusion is implemented only with control point vectors and is suitable for real-time processing. © 2005 IEEE.

In order to obtain a forecast model for product design time from a small data set, Gaussian Margin Regression (GMR) is presented on the basis of combining Gaussian Margin Machines and kernel based regression. Gaussian Margin Regression maintains a Gaussian distribution over weight vectors for kernel based regression. The algorithm is applied to seeking the least information distribution that will make actual value be included in the confidential interval with high probability, and embedded genetic algorithm is presented for choosing its relevant parameters. The results of application in injection mold designs reveal that the time forecast model based on GMR is of feasibility and validity. © 2011 IEEE.

The battery is the energy storage device of the satellite power system. The working life of power system mainly depends on the life of the battery. The health state of the battery refers to the battery current performance deviation from the nominal design performance and indicators, so the performance of the battery in the future can be judged by the health state of the battery. Therefore, the study of the battery health assessment method has an important reference value on the design and the management of the satellite on-orbit. First, the aging and failure of GEO satellite battery is introduced, and the battery structure of the GEO satellite power system is analyzed in this paper. Then the evaluation method of GEO satellite battery based-on fuzzy theory is studied, the flow of the assessment of the battery health status, the calculation method of the symptoms membership degree and weight evaluation matrix are given, the calculation method of the Degree of Failure (DOF) and Degree of Health (DOH) is given, too. Using this method, the health state of the satellite battery can be evaluated and diagnosed. Furthermore, in the simulation experiment, the GEO satellite battery charging and discharging data of 3 years are used to evaluate the health condition, the effective, reliability and accuracy of the battery evaluation model proposed in this paper are also proved out and verified.
