Blockchain technology can bring profound changes to the energy industry and is now becoming a new driving force for the rapid development of this sector. In order to build a secure, reliable, and stable energy service system, it is necessary to study the framework and interaction mechanism of the energy trading system. This paper introduces a distributed integrated energy trading solution, proposes a new overall architecture, and analyses the blockchain model. This paper presents an algorithm to calculate the score directly in the client. Through this algorithm, users can choose service providers, get rid of cloud control, and realize users' free choice of electricity purchase and interaction between users through the smart contract. The test results show that the system has high performance and efficiency, can meet the needs of integrated energy transactions, and provides a solution for the application of blockchain in energy trading. © 2021 IEEE.

Underwater high-performance biological adhesion systems have attracted increasing research interest to inspire engineered adhesion systems. Switchable underwater adhesion systems typically employ suction adhesion. However, achieving low pre-pressure negative pressure adhesion is still a challenge. An inspiring nature mode is provided by the rock-climbing fish, which needs little preload and can resist a pull-off force of 1000 times its own body weight. The pectoral and abdominal fins of rock-climbing fish have evolved to almost a flat suction cup. Through micro CT, we found that a unique skeletal network is embedded in the suction cup. This unique structure increases the stiffness of the suction cup and enhances its adhesion performance. Through numerical simulation, it was revealed that this rigid, flexible coupling structure enhances the ability of the suction cup to resist lateral pressure and increases the energy dissipation of the edge detachment of the suction cup. This work can shed light on the design of novel underwater adhesion systems and inspire underwater adhesion crawling robots. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2023.

This publication presents a review of the application of large databases (Big Data) in medicine. The aim of the work is to provide some positive guidelines for the optimization of health care and improvement of patient care in Bulgaria. Therefore, the article discusses designed applications that can find their place in various fields of medicine. Our proposed optimization is the introduction of electronic chip cards. The development assumes that each patient will be provided with a processor card carrying information about basic data related to the condition and its personalization and possible access to this data when necessary. Thus, the proposed solution provides an opportunity to upgrade (for the future) and build an information system with a connection to the health fund. In addition, an early-stage project is described to integrate data from personal portable devices with the electronic health record, thereby providing information to medical personnel about the individual's health status. Portable personal devices and other non-medical equipment generate a huge, almost continuous flow of data that can be useful in making decisions regarding the treatment of patients with various health conditions. The applications described are a continuation of the team's previous developments.

Parkinson's disease(PD) is a progressive neu-rodegenerative disease defined by clinical syndrome including bradykinesia, tremor and postural instability. The PD-related disability and impairment are usually monitored by clinicals using the MDS-UPDRS scale. However, due to COVID-19, it became much harder for the patients to reach hospitals and obtain necessary assessment and treatment. Nowadays, 2D videos are easily accessible and can be a promising so-lution for on-site and remote diagnosis of movement disorder. Inspired by the frequency-based video processing mechanism of human visual system, we propose a video-based SlowFast GCN network to quantify the gait disorder. The model consists of two parts: the fast pathway and the slow pathway. The former detects characteristics such as tremor and bilateral asymmetry, while the latter extracts characteristics such as bradykinesia and freezing of gait. Furthermore, in order to investigate the influence of age on the model performance, an aged control group and a young control group were set up for verification. The proposed model was evaluated on a video dataset collected from 68 participants. We achieved a balanced accuracy of 87.5% and precision of 87.9%, which outperformed existing competing methods. When replacing the young healthy controls with the same number of older controls, the balanced accuracy and precision were decreased by 10.4% and 9.7%, which indicates that age has a significant effect on the model perfomance. © 2022 IEEE.

Simulation-based training is used in various fields. One of these fields is medical education. This study researches the use of Augmented Reality (AR) for laparoscopic surgeries and the settings for surgical training. AR adds an overlay of computer-generated content on a camera live image. AR helps medical staff to improve diagnostics and surgical treatment of patients. This paper presents an approach to teaching medical students to use augmented reality. Two software applications MOSAR ICTPro 1.0 and MOSAR ICTPro 2.0 have been developed, which are designed as upgrades to the multifunctional operating station for laparoscopic manipulations, developed on Tcl/Tk. Applications run under Android®. The experimental results take into account the force interaction of the instrument-obj ect. This work is a continuation of previous research in the field of surgical robotics. © 2021 IEEE.

Medication management poses significant challenges for many patients, particularly the elderlies, who often struggle with keeping track of their medication schedules and taking the correct dosages. To address this issue, this study aims to design an AI-integrated Medication Management and Assistive Unit (AMMAU) for elderlies with some important features like, schedule reminder, medicine recognition and count, early indication of shortage, sorted slots, and so on. Automated insulin-dose prediction and alert system makes the system unique and more demanding at these current scenarios. For this study, a suitable machine learning model is designed, analyzed, verified, and embedded in the proposed system so that the elderly diabetic patients can get alert, further compare with the current insulin-doses. Though, the proposed system is currently focusing on only the Basal insulin doses prediction, the system will definitely reduce the risks associated with wrong management of medication by degrading the chances of missed doses or taking wrong pills for elderlies at home.

Trends in medical technologies are novel techniques and methods for study of biological tissue and and identify the existing of a tissue anomaly. An attempt in this direction is based on augmented reality surgical systems and devices that allow doctors to visualize data from diagnostic and surgical procedures, and improve work efficiency. The primary aim of this work is to study biological tissue using Augmented Reality surgical systems and to model the behavior of an instrument-organ in an environment close to its real one. To solve these problems the following is done: i) an original tactile model of an instrument for robot-assisted surgery is designed and produced ii) Unified Modeling Language (UML) design of augmented reality surgical system, and iii) an extension program MOSAR ICTPro 2.0 with an augmented reality upgrade is design. The accurate detection of lateral walking gait phases is essential for the effective implementation of hip exoskeleton systems in lateral resistance walking exercises. However, limitations in hardware, such as memory and computing power, in the microcontrollers of wearable devices, significantly impact the size and training speed of the lateral walking gait phase detection model, thus affecting the exoskeleton system. This study proposes a data optimization algorithm that utilizes K-means clustering combined with commonly used machine learning algorithms, including Random Forests (RF), Support Vector Machines (SVM), and k-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), to reduce both the training time and size of the model. With the implementation of this algorithm, the training time and model size of RF, SVM, and KNN-based models are reduced by 89.6%, 99.8%, and 97.9%, and 89.6%, 92.7%, and 95.2% respectively. The corresponding gait phase prediction accuracy experiences only a slight decrease of 1.6%, 1.7%, and 2.8% respectively. This method ensures a sufficiently high accuracy in detecting lateral walking gait phases while simultaneously achieving higher efficiency and a smaller model size.

Bayesian Neural Networks (BNNs) offer a sophisticated framework for extending classical neural network point estimates to encompass predictive distributions. Despite the high potential of BNNs, established BNN training methods such as Variational Inference (VI) and Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) grapple with issues such as scalability and hyperparameter dependence. In addressing these issues, our research focuses on the fundamental elements of BNNs, in particular perceptrons and their predictive capabilities. We introduce a new perspective on the closed-form solution for backward-pass computation for the Bayesian perceptron and prove that the state-of-the-art solution is equivalent to statistical linearization. To assess the efficacy of Bayesian perceptrons and provide insights into their performance in distinct input space regions, a novel methodology utilizing k-d trees as a space partitioning method is introduced to evaluate prediction quality within specific input space regions.

The paper proposes new ontologies for describing and diagnosing malfunctions of subsystems of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) as a part of the development of a previously created approach to the intelligent diagnosis of these vehicles using knowledge bases. To implement this approach, it is proposed to use two knowledge bases, one of which describes malfunctions, features for their identification and actions necessary to adapt to the negative consequences caused by the appearance of these malfunctions. The other database contains information about the main subsystems of the AUV, devices and replaceable modules, as well as the states they may be in. Knowledge bases are used in the work of the intelligent control-emergency system (ICES) on board the AUV, which allows for comprehensive functional diagnostics of all subsystems of the device, including payload modules, as well as adaptation to the consequences of emerging malfunctions, taking into account the actual cause-and-effect relationships between them. To test the system’s operability, a prototype was developed. The results of the prototype simulation showed that ICES performs the tasks and can be implemented on the onboard computers of existing AUV using well-known programming technologies.
