This paper presents a ring synthetic gene network model described by fractional differential equations,studies the conditions of Hopf bifurcation in the model,and discusses the limit cycle oscillation phenomenon due to the existence of bifurcation,which causes the system to become unstable,and then We propose a method to control the bifurcation behavior in the system,so that the system can be stable over a large *** addition,the dynamic behavior of the fractional-order model is simulated by triggering a genetic oscillator(a single inhibitory gene) composed of a transistor composed of linear and nonlinear electronic *** circuit simulation results well verify the theoretical analysis conclusion,and the circuit simulation model can well demonstrate the biological characteristics of gene regulatory networks.

The paper presents humidity sensing elements based on silica-graphene surface layers, prepared via a sol-gel method. The samples were sintered at temperatures of 400 °C, 600 °C and 800 °C. Tetraethoxysilane was used as a precursor of SiO2 and as a dopant - graphene aggregates of nanoplatelets. A description of the sample preparation procedure is provided. Using a precise impedance analyzer and a calibrator for humidity and temperature, the changes in their resistance R were investigated with variations in relative humidity in the range of 30% to 90% at a temperature of 25 °C and at a frequency of 20 Hz. Morphological observations and map data analyses were carried out by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersion Spectroscopy (EDX). The developed sensor elements have a good sensitivity to the humidity, and the resistance change reaches two orders of magnitude. Additions of graphene improve the sensitivity of the elements. The characteristics of the sensing elements at different sintering temperatures and different amounts of graphene dopant were modeled using an artificial neural network. © 2024 Nedyu Nedev, Zvezditza Nenova, Stephan Kozhukharov, Stefan Ivanov, Toshko Nenov.

In the context of electrical power operation sites, the automated and accurate detection of whether workers are properly equipped with safety gear, such as safety clothing, helmets, and safety ropes for high-altitude operations, is crucial for ensuring the safety of personnel. Traditional object detection models often struggle to accurately identify these critical pieces of safety equipment in complex environments, due to variable object sizes, overlapping objects, and substantial background noise. To specifically address these challenges, we propose a novel loss function-Enhanced Alignment Intersection over Union (EAIoU) loss. This loss function is designed to enhance the model’s ability to discriminate between closely spaced and overlapping safety gear in real-time, significantly improving robustness against scale variations and complex backgrounds. In experiments based on the YOLOv8s architecture, our model achieved a mean Average Precision (mAP) of 92.1% on a dataset specific to electrical power operations, markedly outperforming traditional IoU loss functions. Additionally, EAIoU demonstrated improved performance on the COCO dataset, indicating its generalization capability across various complex scenarios. This research not only enhances the accuracy and real-time performance of safety equipment detection at electric power operation sites but also opens new avenues for advanced object detection technology in complex, multi-object environments. © 2024 IEEE.

Changes in coal seam hardness cause fluctuations in the feed resistance at the drill bit during the drilling process, leading to unstable feeding speed. This paper proposes a robust dynamic output feedback controller to suppress disturbances caused by the variations in coal seam hardness in the feed system. Firstly, an unknown parameter measuring coal seam hardness is introduced, and an uncertain model of the feeding system is established based on the finite element model of the drill string. By designing weighted functions based on industrial field requirements and constructing a generalized plant, the controller achieves loop shaping, reducing the low-frequency impact of coal seam hardness variations on the feed system and suppressing the systems resonance peak. Simulation results demonstrate that the controller effectively suppresses parameter variations and external disturbances caused by changes in coal seam hardness, achieving stable control of the drilling speed. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a method that employs an evolutionary normal distributions transform (NDT) for simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) using light detection and ranging (LiDAR) for autonomous mobile robots. An adaptive inertia weight and two genetic operators were employed in the Taguchi-based whale optimization algorithm (WOA) to improve the search diversity and avoid local optima. NDT was used to model the environment of differential-drive mobile robots and WOA was applied to optimize the scan matching for the robotic SLAM problem. The NDT-WOA determines the SLAM pose estimation using sensed data from the physical world. A nonholonomic mobile robot was steered to achieve the NDT-WOA SLAM task with the derived robot kinematics and actuator dynamics. The proposed method was implemented in a TurtleBot3 Burger robotic development kit, which includes a single-board computer and an OpenCR control board. The Robot Operating System (ROS) was utilized to implement the evolutionary NDT-WOA SLAM system due to its flexibility, open source, and client library. Simulation and comparisons were conducted to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed NDT-WOA SLAM method compared to other SLAM paradigms. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed evolutionary NDT-WOA SLAM for autonomous mobile robots. We discuss two specific issues that affected the workflows in our career as automatic control teachers and that are related to how teachers may establish teaching-oriented collaborations with colleagues from the same or different institutions. The first issue we identify is the systematic difficulty that one encounters when wanting to exchange instructional material with colleagues, while the second is the complexity of establishing students exchange programs across different institutions and nations. We discuss the nature and structure of the two problems, discuss why and how they are connected, and draw practical examples of how these problems may affect workflows. We then present a strategy that aims at solving these issues based on the introduction of an opportune indexing of instructional material in terms of contents and complexity of such contents, and how this information may be graphically displayed so to ease human and machine interpretability. We further discuss how this approach was used on a smaller scale to ease collaborations among close colleagues, and how it may be extended and adopted on a larger scale. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, by using the flux-controlled memristor model, the finite-time synchronization problem of delayed complex-valued memristive neural networks (MCNNs) is studied. Firstly, according to the proposed memristor model, we model the MCNNs as continuous systems on voltage-flux-time (wp, varpi, t) domain. Then, we design a class of approaches to realize state synchronization between the drive and response systems, and the corresponding synchronization conditions are achieved. Finally, the effectiveness of results is illustrated with the simulations. © 2023 IEEE.
