Characterization of control noise effects in optimal quantum unitary dynamics

This work develops measures for quantifying the effects of field noise upon targeted unitary transformations. Robustness to noise is assessed in the framework of the quantum control landscape, which is the mapping from the control to the unitary transformation performance measure (quantum gate fidelity). Within that framework, a geometric interpretation of stochastic noise effects naturally arises, where more robust optimal controls are associated with regions of small overlap between landscape curvature and the noise correlation function. Numerical simulations of this overlap in the context of quantum information processing reveal distinct noise spectral regimes that better support robust control solutions. This perspective shows the dual importance of both noise statistics and the control form for robustness, thereby opening up new avenues of investigation on how to mitigate noise effects in quantum systems.

We propose an approach for integrated object and path demonstration. The main idea is to choose the motion of the robot depending on the object it grabs. When programming, an object is fixed at the robot's gripper. Path programming is done using haptic guidance. Afterwards, if a robot is handed over an object it knows before, it reproduces the path assigned to the object. Path programming and object recognition can be done with a single force/torque sensor. In our opinion, this way of programming is especially suited for creating pick and place tasks in frequently changing production environments where (re-)programming has to be done frequently.

The problem of how to select a coordinate transformation matrix to improve the LMI conditions for H∞ staticoutput-feedback(SOF) control of discrete-time systems is a challenging open *** paper applies a newly proposed strategy to solve this *** iterative algorithm is developed to produce controllers with locally optimal closed-loop H∞*** algorithm is also applied to other H∞ SOF control problems,such as decentralized H∞ SOF control and simultaneous H∞ SOF ***,numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed method.

EEG physiological signals correlation under condition of +Gz accelerations

In this research, by simultaneously recording the Electroencephalogram(EEG), Electrocardiogram(ECG) and brain blood pressure signals under the condition of +Gz accelerations, the correlation of EEG and heart rate, brain blood pressure was respectively studied in order to provide experimental basis for correctly understanding the relationships between global and local areas as well as among different local areas of human brain, and also to lay foundation for the EEG spectral analysis, interaction and mechanism research of EEG and related physiological signals. The results of EEG auto-correlation and symmetrical electrode cross-correlation analysis of 16 derivation for different loads were obtained, and the correlation coefficients of EEG and brain blood pressure, heart rate were calculated by designing analytical procedure of processing and analyzing the EEG data through programming. Correlation diagrams indicate that the first peak after zero lags appeared is the main peak responding to relatively stronger correlation and correlation numerical value of the first main peak is the largest and the correlation is greatly impacted by different G loads;EEG and heart rate, brain blood pressure, each frequency band of EEG and heart rate, brain blood pressure has different correlation degree separately. In this study EEG experiments are first carries out on high performance three axial human centrifuge by using a new specific acquisition and test method of EEG and related physiological signals and correlation research of EEG and heart rate, brain blood pressure under +Gz accelerations is first proposed. The conclusion can be drawn that EEG correlation under +Gz accelerations is gradually decreased with time lag increasing, greatly affected by G loads and correlation degree of EEG and brain blood pressure is greater than that of EEG and heart rate. © 2013 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.

In this paper, the state estimation problem is investigated for a class of nonlinear stochastic systems with mixed time delays under event-triggered scheme. Based on the proposed event-triggered scheme, the new measurement is sampled and then transmitted to the estimator only when the difference between the current measurement and the previous transmitted measurement is greater than a fixed threshold, thereby reducing the network traffic. Attention is focused on the design problem of the estimator such that the estimation error in mean square is bounded and then minimized. A novel Lyapunov function is employed to derive sufficient condition for the existence of the desired state estimators whose gain matrix can be computed by solving a convex problem. The gain matrix of the estimator is characterized in order that an asymptotic bound of the estimation error is found and subsequently minimized. A numerical simulation is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the results.

The paper deals with the design of an adaptive cruise control system considering the optimal energy and fuel consumption of the vehicle as well as safety aspects of cornering maneuvers. In the velocity design the look-ahead system considers several information of the road sections ahead of the vehicle. By incorporating road information about the geometrical characteristics and traffic of the oncoming road sections, e.g. speed limits, road slopes, road curvature and traffic mean speed it is possible to alter the velocity of the vehicle in advance. Such way, the longitudinal energy required by the vehicle motion can be reduced significantly. The main novelty of the paper is the adaptation of forward traffic mean speed and safe cornering velocity in the look-ahead control algorithm. It is demonstrated in real data simulation that with the proposed method significant amount of fuel can be saved and the safety of the vehicle motion can also be enhanced. © 2013 IEEE.

This paper is concerned with the containment control for a group of double-integrator agents with multiple dynamic leaders communicating over heterogeneous networks, i.e., the position and velocity network topologies are modeled by different graphs. Different containment control algorithms are proposed and analyzed for the two cases that the leaders move with the same constant velocity and the same time-varying velocity, respectively. For the former case the sufficient conditions provided for guaranteeing the containment control are structural and thus easy to verify. Though the conditions proposed for the latter case that leaders move with time-varying velocity are algebraic, such algebraic conditions can be satisfied if the position and velocity network topologies among the follower agents are undirected.

The aim of this work is to present an entropy-like Lyapunov function based dynamic feedback design technique for quasi-polynomial and Lotka-Volterra systems. It is shown, that the dynamic feedback design problem is equivalent to the feasibility of a bilinear matrix inequality. The problem is also formulated as a control Lyapunov function based feedback design when the Lyapunov function parameters are given, the solution of this problem can be obtained by solving a linear matrix inequality. The developed method is illustrated on a simple numerical example. © IFAC.
