Directed energy weapon (DEW) is the weapon equipment directly attacking targets through high-energy beams, wherein the fiber laser consumes energy and generates a lot of waste heat in the process of generating laser. The heat must be rejected in time, otherwise the efficiency of the fiber laser will be greatly compromised. Therefore, this paper analyzes the thermal characteristics of the fiber laser. A model of the fiber laser is established based on the laser composition principle. Simulations are carried out under different working conditions and show that fiber laser efficiency is mainly related to junction temperature. A thermal management system is designed. The volume, weight and temperature of cold tank are evaluated and provided as references for the thermal management system design of directed energy weapons. © 2022 IET Conference Proceedings. Stable control and active disturbance rejection strategy is proposed for planar 2R underactuated robot via intelligent algorithm in this paper. At first, we build the dynamic model and describe the control characteristic. After that, we design PD controller for the active link. According to the underactuated constraint, we then optimize the parameters of controller by using the differential evolution algorithm (DEA), so that we can ensure the target states of all links could eventually be reached at the identical time. And the simulation results indicate the strategy is effective. © 2022 IEEE.

Finite Impulse Response filtering is increasingly becoming the interpolation method of choice in modern computer numerically controlled (CNC) machining centres. Recently, On-The-Fly (OTF) interpolation was introduced using direct convolution to adaptively change the FIR filter time constant throughout the toolpath. In this paper, it is shown that computational advantages can be gained by using frequency domain methods instead. This paper introduces a novel on-the-fly CNC interpolation method using Fast Fourier Transforms (FFTs). The presented OTF FFT method demonstrates up to 10 times increase in computational speed than the direct convolution OTF method. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated in simulation based case studies. © 2022 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

The disability,mortality and costs due to ionizing radiation(IR)-induced osteoporotic bone fractures are sub-stantial and no effective therapy *** radiation increases cellular oxidative damage,causing an imbalance in bone turnover that is primarily driven via heightened activity of the bone-resorbing *** demonstrate that rats exposed to sublethal levels of IR develop fragile,osteoporotic *** reactive surface sites,cerium ions have the ability to easily undergo redox cycling:drastically adjusting their electronic con-figurations and versatile catalytic *** properties make cerium oxide nanomaterials *** show that an engineered artificial nanozyme composed of cerium oxide,and designed to possess a higher fraction of trivalent(Ce^(3+))surface sites,mitigates the IR-induced loss in bone area,bone architecture,and *** investigations also demonstrate that our nanozyme furnishes several mechanistic avenues of protection and selectively targets highly damaging reactive oxygen species,protecting the rats against IR-induced DNA damage,cellular senescence,and elevated osteoclastic activity in vitro and in ***,we reveal that our nanozyme is a previously unreported key regulator of osteoclast formation derived from macrophages while also directly targeting bone progenitor cells,favoring new bone formation despite its exposure to harmful levels of IR in *** findings open a new approach for the specific prevention of IR-induced bone loss using synthesis-mediated designer multifunctional nanomaterials.

During the calibrating of star sensor, the calibration accuracy is greatly affected by the mismatch between the color temperature of the light and the to-be-measured star, which further affects the attitude measurement accuracy. This paper studied the near-infrared spectra of stars with different color temperatures, and analyzed the errors on star positioning and magnitude measurement of star sensor due to the color temperature mismatch. The results showed that in the central field of view, the spot centroid deviation caused by spectral mismatch is smaller than that in the edge field of *** the defocus of the imaging surface also affects the spot centroid deviation. In this paper, we present a nodal hydraulic head estimation methodology for water distribution networks (WDN) based on an Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) scheme with application to leak localization. The UKF refines an initial estimation of the hydraulic state by considering the prediction model, as well as available pressure and demand measurements. To this end, it provides customized prediction and data assimilation steps. Additionally, the method is enhanced by dynamically updating the prediction function weight matrices. Performance testing on the Modena benchmark under realistic conditions demonstrates the method’s effectiveness in enhancing state estimation and data-driven leak localization.

We are committed to designing a method for establishing a set of reliable correspondences between two images in this paper. Previous work proposes an outlier removal network based on global and local attention mechanism. It normalizes the feature map under the guidance of attention weight, as a result the robustness to outliers is improved and inliers are better preserved. However, element-wise multiplication of these two different attentions makes them unable to perform their original functions. In order to overcome this limitation, a network based on attention mechanism has been designed in our work. Firstly, global attention is employed to compute a global weight which can help normalization focus on inliers and reduce the influence of outliers on context information. Secondly, to extract channel information, we use local attention to learn a channel weight for each correspondence. Finally, the above structures and residual network modules are combined for correspondence establishment. Experimental results show that our method is better than other SOTA methods. © 2021 IEEE

This comparative study between two topologies of three-phase grid-connected photovoltaic inverters, namely the single-stage inverter and the two-stage inverter, was modeled and simulated using Matlab Simulink. The control of the two-level inverter is by the synchronous reference frame method, and the tracker of the PV array power is by the incremental conductance MPPT algorithm. In this paper, performance analysis of PV grid-connected inverters based on the overall efficiency and harmonic distortion. The simulation results indicate satisfaction with the quality of the current and voltage inj ected into the electrical grid, where THD is according to the recommendations of the IEEE-519 standard, and both topologies are efficient, but the single-stage inverter performs better than the two-stage inverter.
