This paper investigates the cooperative output regulation (COR) of nonlinear multi-agent systems (MASs) with long input delay based on periodic event-triggered mechanism. Compared with other mechanisms, periodic event-triggered control can automatically guarantee a Zeno-free behavior and avoid the continuous monitoring of triggered conditions. First, a new periodic event-triggered distributed observer, which is based on the fully asynchronous communication data, is proposed to estimate the leader information. Second, a new distributed predictor feedback control method is proposed for the considered nonlinear MASs with input delay. By coordinate transformation, the MASs are mapped into new coupled ODE-PDE target systems with some disturbance-like terms. Then, we show that the COR problem is solvable. At last, to further save the communication resource, a periodic event-triggered mechanism is considered in the sensor-to-controller transmission in every agent. A new periodic event-triggered filter is proposed to deal with the periodic event-triggered feedback data. The MASs with input delay are mapped into coupled ODE-PDE target systems with sampled data information. Then, Lyapunov-Krasovskii functions are constructed to demonstrate the exponential stability of the MASs. Simulations verify the validity of the proposed results. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

This paper investigates the problem of outlier-resistant distributed fusion filtering(DFF)for a class of multi-sensor nonlinear singular systems(MSNSSs)under a dynamic event-triggered scheme(DETS).To relieve the effect of measurement outliers in data transmission,a self-adaptive saturation function is ***,to further reduce the energy consumption of each sensor node and improve the efficiency of resource utilization,a DETS is adopted to regulate the frequency of data *** the addressed MSNSSs,our purpose is to construct the local outlier-resistant filter under the effects of the measurement outliers and the DETS;the local upper bound(UB)on the filtering error covariance(FEC)is derived by solving the difference equations and minimized by designing proper filter ***,according to the local filters and their UBs,a DFF algorithm is presented in terms of the inverse covariance intersection fusion *** such,the proposed DFF algorithm has the advantages of reducing the frequency of data transmission and the impact of measurement outliers,thereby improving the estimation ***,the uniform boundedness of the filtering error is discussed and a corresponding sufficient condition is ***,the validity of the developed algorithm is checked using a simulation example.

The present study presents the development of an impedance based fractional order model that describe the dynamics of pain assessment based on experimental data. Bioimpedance spectroscopy is used to acquire real-life electrodermal responses from a healthy subject undergoing induced acute pain. The measurements register both normal epidermal values in the absence of pain and bioimpedance measurements at the presence of sudden, acute, pain. The aim is to develop a general model that describes the feeling of pain in the presence/absence of active stimulus. The complex dynamics of the acquired data suggest the usage of fractional calculus, a powerful tool that provides a versatile and efficient solution of modeling complex physical phenomena. The proposed models are obtained using constrained optimization routines and are successfully validated on the real life data. © 2021 IEEE.

As a decentralized machine learning approach, federated learning has become a key solution for numerous applications. However, one primary challenge lies in the data heterogeneity issue when developing effective federated learning algorithms. While many existing frameworks address the concern of non-independent and identically distributed data(non-IID), they have not considered heterogeneity of data quality. Therefore, we propose ROCFL, a robust clustered federated learning method in this study, which can amplify the disparity in weight allocation between models trained on different quality data. We first develop an optimal clustering matching mechanism that groups clients with similar data distributions. This allows the optimal clustering model to be derived without specifying a predetermined number of clusters. Next, we introduce a personalized weight allocation strategy, which assigns a weight benchmark to each cluster based on its cluster importance index. This strategy mitigates the negative impacts of low-quality data during model aggregation. Finally, we design a federated aggregation strategy grounded in a sampling approach. It not only ensures unbiased sampling but also significantly reduces both computational and communication overheads. Experiments have been carried out and the results demonstrate that higher accuracy and robustness can be achieved by ROCFL in scenarios wherein data distribution and quality heterogeneity coexist, in comparison with the benchmarks.

A Generalized Probabilistic Monitoring Model with Both Randomand Sequential Data

Many multivariate statistical analysis methods and their corresponding probabilistic counterparts have been adopted to develop process monitoring models in recent decades. However, the insightful connections between them have rarely been studied. In this study, a generalized probabilistic monitoring model (GPMM) is developed with both random and sequential data. Since GPMM can be reduced to various probabilistic linear models under specific restrictions, it is adopted to analyze the connections between different monitoring methods. Using expectation maximization (EM) algorithm, the parameters of GPMM are estimated for both random and sequential cases. Based on the obtained model parameters, statistics are designed for monitoring different aspects of the process system. Besides, the distributions of these statistics are rigorously derived and proved, so that the control limits can be calculated accordingly. After that, contribution analysis methods are presented for identifying faulty variables once the process anomalies are detected. Finally, the equivalence between monitoring models based on classical multivariate methods and their corresponding probabilistic graphic models is further investigated. The conclusions of this study are verified using a numerical example and the Tennessee Eastman (TE) process. Experimental results illustrate that the proposed monitoring statistics are subject to their corresponding distributions, and they are equivalent to statistics in classical deterministic models under specific restrictions. Modeling of cross-medium vehicles with complex shapes still requires a thorough investigation. This paper proposes a multi-method combination modeling approach to tackle such a problem. First-principle model is derived to determinate a model structure. Experiments are then set up to estimate parameters related to its rigid-body model and propulsion system. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is performed to calculate and identify coefficients related to surrounding fluid. Base on the model obtained, we systematically investigate the possible steady motion of the cross-medium vehicle and analyze their related performance. Results are instrumental for designing controllers for the vehicle to perform autonoumous missions.

The process of blast furnace ironmaking is com-posed of several sub-processes. The process of blast furnace smelting is complicated and the data of each sub-process are scattered and not concentrated. The traditional working mode of subjective judgment based on manual experience is not conducive to the stable production of the blast furnace. Therefore, this paper develops a big data system for the production process of blast furnace, which is of great significance to realize the digital production and intelligent production of blast furnace. According to the system architecture of blast furnace ironmaking, this paper mainly designs and develops the data acquisition layer, data storage layer, data analysis layer and data application layer of the big data system.

Underwater supporting robots serving as a relay of energy supplements and communication for other underwater equipment are promising for ocean exploration, development, and protection. This paper proposes a novel autonomous docking system centered on a designed supporting robotic fish named ‘CourierFish’. Specifically, CourierFish is capable of docking with a surface dock station for supplying itself and docking with a seafloor platform for supporting equipment in the platform. A visual navigation scheme integrating LED and ArUco markers is presented for accurate localization. The control approach for docking motion is also illustrated. Simulations and aquatic experiments are performed to verify the feasibility of the proposed docking system. The obtained results lay a solid foundation for the construction of various underwater equipment and robot networks.
