The main idea of this project is to simulate the thermal construction responses in dependence on changing boundary conditions. In order to predict environmental temperature precisely a model of one room has been developed and implemented in COMSOL Multiphysics. A finite element model was developed in 3D coordinates in order to achieve illustration of an air and an energy movement and to simulate the transient process in the walls. Notwithstanding, this model was not accurate enough for application in building conditions. Main goal of this paper is in updating current model to get results with sufficient accuracy. Temperature course of the model is analyzed and compared to the experimentally measured temperature data.

This paper is focused on reference tracking and disturbance rejection for linear time-invariant time delay systems. The contribution is motivated by the fact that the task of reference tracking and disturbance rejection for non-stepwise those external inputs in the feedback loop is often ignored in the literature. The presented approach is based on algebraic operations in a special ring RMS and on the divisibility condition in the ring. The general idea for a feedback loop with two controllers is introduced. The methodology is clarified and verified by a simulation example in the Matlab/Simulink environment.

Abstract In this paper an anti-slip predictive controller is designed and implemented in order to control the rear wheels of a V-PRA (Variable Powered Rear Axle) vehicle. The control algorithm is EPSAC, a Model based Predictive control (MPC) strategy. It uses explicitly a model of the system for the prediction of the future system output, in order to calculate the optimal control input which will bring the system to a required setpoint. The main goals of this predictive controller were setpoint trajectory following, disturbance rejection and maintain overall the stability of the V-PRA vehicle. Although the process is non-linear, being influenced by several parameters, linear discrete-time ARX models could be obtained based on system linearization around an operating point. An initial SISO controller was developed and tested, based on a Simulink model of the process. The control performances were tested successfully in presence of all kind of disturbances, denoting a robust controller.

An algorithmic framework is developed for automatic deployment of car-like robots based on Linear Temporal Logic (LTL) formulae over a set of regions of interest in the environment. The environment and the regions of interest are a priori known, and the robot has non-negligible size and restricted steering capabilities. The approach relies on constructing a probabilistic finite-state abstraction of the car-like robot and on finding a trajectory (run) in this abstraction such that the probability of satisfying the LTL formula is maximized. The feasibility of our approach is supported by simulations under Matlab environment.

This paper investigates the possibility of packet error recovery in a cooperative cluster of mobile devices. We assume that these devices receive data from a broadcast transmission on their primary network interface (e.g. LTE network), and they are using a secondary network interface (e.g. ad hoc WLAN network) to form a cooperative cluster in order to exchange missing data packets among each other. Our goal is to devise a protocol that minimizes the number of packets exchanged on the secondary network whilst maximizes the number of packet errors recovered on the primary network. Moreover, we aim to repair the packet losses on-the-fly (as the data is being received), which also imposes real-time constraints on the protocol. We propose a solution based on random linear network coding to form cooperative clusters of mobile devices to facilitate the efficient exchange of information among them. We also introduce a demo application that implements this technique on Nokia phones. Then we present our testbed and the collected measurement results in order to evaluate the performance of our protocol.

Time delay systems (TDS), called hereditary or anisochronic as well, can be frequently found in many engineering problems and they constitute a widespread family of industrial plants. Modelling, identification, stability analysis, stabilization, control, etc. of TDS are challenging and fascinating tasks in modern systems and control theory as well as in academic and industrial applications. One of their possible linear representations in the form of the Laplace transform yields the transfer function expressed as a fraction of quasipolynomials, instead of polynomials, with delay (exponential) terms in denominators. In this contribution, detailed root location analysis of a characteristic retarded quasipolynomial of degree one is presented, which gives rise to the spectrum of a retarded TDS. The presented analysis represents also a powerful tool for controller tuning in pole-placement control algorithms for delayed systems. A simulation example clarifies the results obtained vie proven propositions, lemmas and theorems.
