This paper presents a methodology to generate proper state trajectories of a swarm of agents, described as a single integrator model. The main goal of the proposed methodology is to route the agents into planar polygons like areas, so that to accomplish for cooperative perimeter surveillance or target capturing tasks. In particular, the agents are driven into a polygonal strip defined by a given containment external convex polygonal region and an internal forbidden convex polygonal region around a prescribed target. The control law is designed looking at a circular strip, then a conversion from circular to polygonal areas is applied to achieve the prescribed goal. Steady-state conditions are analyzed and sufficient conditions derived in terms of the control law parameters. Simulation results put in light the main properties of the resulting kinematic state description.

Developing neural machine translation models for Hungarian-English

I train models for the task of neural machine translation for English-Hungarian and Hungarian-English, using the Hunglish2 corpus. The main contribution of this work is evaluating different data augmentation methods during the training of NMT models. I propose 5 different augmentation methods that are structure-aware, meaning that instead of randomly selecting words for blanking or replacement, the dependency tree of sentences is used as a basis for augmentation. I start my thesis with a detailed literature review on neural networks, sequential modeling, neural machine translation, dependency parsing and data augmentation. After a detailed exploratory data analysis and preprocessing of the Hunglish2 corpus, I perform experiments with the proposed data augmentation techniques. The best model for Hungarian-English achieves a BLEU score of 33.9, while the best model for English-Hungarian achieves a BLEU score of 28.6. © 2021, CC BY.

This paper presents a mathematical model of flow washing with the initial volume of the washing bath of preserved raw hides by salt. The main result of this work is the determination of the concentration field of the preservative in the raw material depending on the washing time and the size of the washing water flow, based on the correct laboratory-determined diffusion coefficient of the preservative using a tortuous factor. The paper points out the usefulness of applying theoretical tools of chemical engineering in areas such as the tanning industry.

Multi-swarm particle swarm optimization algorithms have received much attention in recent years due to their effectiveness in maintaining the diversity of population. However, during the evolution process, the algorithm often suffers from the aggregation of particles within the sub-swarm which could make the particles fall into the local optimum. In order to solve this problem, we propose a new multi-swarm particle swarm optimization algorithm: A Subordinate Multi-Swarm Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm based on the Dynamic Cooperative Learning Strategy Algorithm (SMS-DCLS-PSO). In the SMS-DCLS-PSO algorithm, we use the number of stagnant local optimums in the sub-swarms as the aggregation flag. When the sub-swarms reach the aggregation condition, the dynamic random cooperative learning strategy is adopted to realize the adaptive periodic information exchange between sub-swarms. To further enhance the diversity of the population, the best particle of the main population and the worst particle of the sub-swarms are respectively mutated. When the sub-swarms don't meet the aggregation conditions, the sub-swarms evolve independently which means the particles only exchange the information within their own sub-swarm. The main-swarm evaluates the local optimal position of each sub-swarm and its own local optimal position in each iteration to update the velocity. The results of the comparison with SMS-DCLS-PSO and other PSO algorithms on the latest public test suite demonstrate that SMS-DCLS-PSO has a better performance on optimization. © 2022 ACM.

So far, no matter what kind of inertia weighting algorithm, its value changes within the positive range (0, 1.2). To further improve the optimization performance of particles, this paper proposes a mirror-image inertia weight (miIW) strategy, which extends the value range of inertia weight from the positive domain (0, 1.2) to the negative domain (-1.2, 0). The CEC2014 function was used to test the optimization performance of different inertia weight algorithms in the PSO algorithm using three strategies of positive inertia weight (PIW), negative inertia weight (NIW), and mirror-image inertia weight (miIW), The results show that the optimization performance of miIW is better than PIW and NIW. To verify the actual optimization ability of the mirror-image inertial weight (miIW), we compared the effects of PSO with miIW, PSO with PIW, and PSO with NIW in the optimization of the classification model parameters. The results show that the PSO with miIW optimization result is the best. These research results show that the miIW strategy increases the flight distance of the particles, which expands the search range of the particles, improves the overall development capabilities of the particles, and increases the search density of the particles. The expansion of the search range and the increase of the search density work together to promote a significant improvement in the optimization performance of the PSO algorithm. © 2022 ACM.

Mixed reality and digital twins offer two prominent technological approaches that have the potential to revolutionize chemical industries. However, there are some hurdles that need to be overcome before these technologies can be widely adopted. One major challenge can be found in cooperation of interdisciplinary teams. In order to create an effective practical solution, mixed reality researchers need to be aware of the heterogeneity of data, scale and requirements of the real-life scenes. Moreover, engineers in process industries need to understand the functional requirements of mixed reality solutions. To close this existing gap, this paper presents an exemplary use case model with market requirements and technological potentials, system interfaces, and role models to serve as a reference model for future trans-disciplinary research on this use case. © 2022 IEEE.

Need of use of computer technology for conceptual design of control systems' elements for electric power system was proved. The known approaches to the solution of this task are analysed and need of their development is proved. New approach to conceptual design of control systems' elements on the basis of the fractal theory is observed. Two types of self-similarity for functional fractals were defined: rigid and non-rigid self-similarity. Use of this approach allows to model sensors of new generation, in particular, multiifunctional sensors. © 2021 IEEE.

Depression is a widespread emotional disorder that is marked by a lasting and intense feeling of sadness,diminished enthusiasm,an absence of joy,and difficulty in *** this study,we first constructed a fuzzy RBF neural network model that conforms to fuzzy reasoning logic for depression symptom *** then employed the fuzzy c-means technique to establish the starting values for the three crucial parameters of the ***,grounded in the traits of parameter training,we proposed a method to optimize network parameter *** the practical application of depression symptom evaluation,we collected emotional conflict decision-making behavior data from 86 patients with *** this basis,we completed feature construction,feature normalization and feature dimensionality *** emotional conflict features and fuzzy RBF neural network to predict the PHQ-9 scores of patients with depression,we finally obtained an MAE of 3.84 and an RMSE of 4.98.

The lack of effective communication and cooperation among subpopulations leads to subpopulation aggregation,which affects the movement direction and search accuracy of the *** this study,we propose a multi-population cooperative particle swarm optimization(MCPSO) to improve communication and cooperation among *** MCPSO,we reconstruct the population optimal position(gbest) and subpopulation optimal position(lbest).Additionally,we establish exploration,exploitation,and auxiliary subpopulations and assign them different *** results using the CEC2017test function in three dimensions(30,50,and 100) demonstrate the superior performance of *** applied to hyperparameter optimization of neural network model,the results show that MCPSO outperforms other PSO algorithms,thereby validating its effectiveness and practicality.

The study aims to numerically investigate the flow boiling of Al2O3/H2O and CuO/H2O nanofluids and water in pipes filled with copper metal foams. Four different values of porosity and three values of pore density have been used. To perform numerical simulation, the mixture model has been developed. Also, with the help of user-defined functions, the effects of nanoparticle deposition on the wettability of heating surfaces were considered. The thermal performance of metal foam pipes has been compared with each other by comparing the increase in heat transfer and pressure drop. Besides, the effect of metal foams with different porosities on the onset of nucleate boiling was evaluated. As a result, by reducing the porosity from 0.95 to 0.80, the heat transfer coefficient was increased by 59%, while the pressure drop increased by 28%. Finally, by comparing the increase in heat transfer and pressure drop, results show that the metal foam pipe with 80% porosity and 5 PPI has the best thermal performance. The results of this study are expected to be used for the optimization of advanced phase change cooling technologies. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.
