We present numerical results for three-dimensional (3D) solitons with symmetries of the semi-vortex (SV) and mixed-mode (MM) types, which can be created in spinor Bose-Einstein condensates of Rydberg atoms under the action of the spin-orbit coupling (SOC). By means of systematic numerical computations, we demonstrate that the interplay of SOC and long-range spherically symmetric Rydberg interactions stabilize the 3D solitons, improving their resistance to collapse. We find how the stability range depends on the strengths of the SOC and Rydberg interactions and the soft-core atomic radius. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Communication efficiency is a major bottleneck in the applications of distributed networks. To address the problem, the problem of quantized distributed optimization has attracted a lot of attention. However, most of the existing quantized distributed optimization algorithms can only converge sublinearly. To achieve linear convergence, this paper proposes a novel quantized distributed gradient tracking algorithm (Q-DGT) to minimize a finite sum of local objective functions over directed networks. Moreover, we explicitly derive lower bounds for the number of quantization levels, and prove that Q-DGT can converge linearly even when the exchanged variables are respectively quantized with 3 quantization levels. To achieve secure quantum key distribution, all imperfections in the source unit must be incorporated in a security proof and measured in the lab. Here we perform a proof-of-principle demonstration of the experimental techniques for characterizing the source phase and intensity fluctuation in commercial quantum key distribution systems. When we apply the measured phase-fluctuation intervals to the security proof that takes into account fluctuations in the state preparation, it predicts a key distribution distance of over 100km of fiber. The measured intensity fluctuation intervals are, however, so large that the proof predicts zero key, indicating a source improvement may be needed. Our characterization methods pave the way for a future certification standard.

Cervical cancer is the seventh most common cancer among all the cancers worldwide and the fourth most common cancer among women. Cervical cytopathology image classification is an important method to diagnose cervical cancer. Manual screening of cytopathology images is time-consuming and error-prone. The emergence of the automatic computer-aided diagnosis system solves this problem. This paper proposes a framework called CVM-Cervix based on deep learning to perform cervical cell classification tasks. It can analyze pap slides quickly and accurately. CVM-Cervix first proposes a Convolutional Neural Network module and a Visual Transformer module for local and global feature extraction respectively, then a Multilayer Perceptron module is designed to fuse the local and global features for the final classification. Experimental results show the effectiveness and potential of the proposed CVM-Cervix in the field of cervical Pap smear image classification. In addition, according to the practical needs of clinical work, we perform a lightweight post-processing to compress the model. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Accurate and lightweight 3D object detection is crucial for the perception ability of mobile intelligent robots. Aiming at the problem that current 3D object detection is difficult to balance lightweight and accuracy, this paper presents a multimodal fusion object detection method, F-ResPoint, based on point cloud culling in vision frustum. F-ResPoint is a lightweight two-stage object detection method, in which the frustum point cloud generation algorithm based on the improved YOLOv5 is used first to obtain the point cloud containing the object information in the view frustum from the point cloud in the original field. Then, the point cloud detection network based on the Residual-SA module is utilized for detecting the three-dimensional (3D) object from point cloud in the view frustum and obtaining its position and actual size of the object in 3D space. Experimental results demonstrate that this method achieves high detection accuracy and maintains good real-time performance while remaining lightweight.

The inverse linear-quadratic optimal control problem is a system identification problem whose aim is to recover the quadratic cost function and hence the closed-loop system matrices based on observations of optimal trajectories. In this paper, the discrete-time, finite-horizon case is considered, where the agents are also assumed to be homogeneous and indistinguishable. The latter means that the agents all have the same dynamics and objective functions and the observations are in terms of "snap shots" of all agents at different time instants, but what is not known is "which agent moved where" for consecutive observations. This absence of linked optimal trajectories makes the problem challenging. We first show that this problem is globally identifiable. Then, for the case of noiseless observations, we show that the true cost matrix, and hence the closed-loop system matrices, can be recovered as the unique global optimal solution to a convex optimization problem. Next, for the case of noisy observations, we formulate an estimator as the unique global optimal solution to a modified convex optimization problem. Moreover, the statistical consistency of this estimator is shown. Finally, the performance of the proposed method is demonstrated by a number of numerical examples. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. Time delay estimation using fixed-time terminal sliding mode control (TDEFxSMC) for unknown nonlinear systems with uncertainty and external disturbances is presented in this study. Firstly, the notion of fixed-time terminal sliding mode control (FxSMC) is outlined and thoroughly examined. Using the FxSMC scheme, nonsingular fixed-time control, non-chatter control inputs, and high performance tracking positions have been achieved. To estimate the unknown dynamics, proposed method incorporates a TDE scheme. The Lyapunov theorem is applied to find whether the proposed system can achieve its stability in a fixed-time. The effectiveness of the suggested method is evaluated and demonstrated by presenting the results of the proposed method implemented to the nonlinear robot dynamics.

This paper develops a class of iterative learning control (ILC) laws for a subclass of uncertain spatially interconnected systems. Model uncertainties appear both in the state and the output equation of the dynamics modeled in the 2D systems setting to which existing results are not applicable. The first stage is to write the dynamics in 2D model form. Then the stability theory for a distinct class of 2D systems known as repetitive processes is used to develop the ILC law in the case of differential dynamics. This analysis results in a design algorithm that can be applied using linear matrix inequalities.
