Predefined-Time Distributed Fault-Tolerant control for Nonlinear Multiagent systems Suffering From Nonaffine Faults

This article investigates the distributed predefined-time (PT) fault-tolerant control for nonlinear multiagent systems (NNMSs) with nonaffine faults. A novel distributed PT control scheme is proposed based on a new PT theorem. The switching functions are introduced into distributed control signals to avoid the singularity problem. The second-order filter technology is designed to solve "explosion of complexity" issues. The newly designed PT compensation signals are utilized to eliminate filter errors. The proposed distributed PT controller based on local information can guarantee that all signals of the closed-loop system are PT bounded, and consensus errors of NNMSs can be enforced to a small region around the origin within a predefined time. Compared with the finite/fixed time, the predefined time is an exact value given in advance, which remains constant regardless of initial states and control parameters. Finally, two comparative simulations are provided to demonstrate the presented strategy. © 2013 IEEE.

This paper presents an original theoretical framework to model steel material properties in continuous casting line process. Specific properties arising from non-Newtonian dynamics are herein used to indicate the natural convergence of distributed parameter systems to fractional order transfer function models. Data driven identification from a real continuous casting line is used to identify model of the electromagnetic actuator device to control flow velocity of liquid steel. To ensure product specifications, a fractional order control is designed and validated on the system. A projection of the closed loop performance onto the quality assessment at end production line is also given in this paper.

Computer aided control in biomedical applications is gaining more and more popularity due to numerous research studies that have proven the efficiency of automatic control over manual dosing, which is highly susceptible to human errors. Optimal drug dosing is best achieved using automatic control, which triggers important benefits in terms of both costs and patient side-effects. However, mathematical models for patients are highly susceptible to large modeling uncertainty. A predictive control algorithm is designed in this paper for optimal multidrug control of hemodynamic variables. Improved closed loop performance is obtained compared to similar control strategies, for ± 30% modeling uncertainty. The simulation results demonstrate that predictive control is a feasible solution for optimal drug dosing. An analysis of the closed loop performance for significant patient variability shows that controllers tuned using a nominal patient model often fail to achieve desired robustness. To limit the effect of modeling uncertainty, the prediction model should be updated using an online identification tool to extract patient features. © 2024 AACC.

Point Cloud Classification Using Content-Based Transformer via Clustering in Feature Space

Recently, there have been some attempts of Transformer in 3D point cloud classification. In order to reduce computations, most existing methods focus on local spatial attention,but ignore their content and fail to establish relationships between distant but relevant points. To overcome the limitation of local spatial attention, we propose a point content-based Transformer architecture, called PointConT for short. It exploits the locality of points in the feature space(content-based), which clusters the sampled points with similar features into the same class and computes the self-attention within each class, thus enabling an effective trade-off between capturing long-range dependencies and computational complexity. We further introduce an inception feature aggregator for point cloud classification, which uses parallel structures to aggregate high-frequency and low-frequency information in each branch separately. Extensive experiments show that our PointConT model achieves a remarkable performance on point cloud shape classification. Especially, our method exhibits 90.3% Top-1 accuracy on the hardest setting of ScanObjectN N. Source code of this paper is available at https://***/yahuiliu99/PointC onT.

One of the most important goals of theoretical ecologists is to find a strategy for controlling the chaos in ecological models to maintain healthy ecosystems. We investigate the influence of fear and the supply of additional food to predators in a delayed tri-trophic food chain model, where interference among the species is determined by Holling type-II functional response. The proposed model incorporates the fact that the growth rates of prey and middle predators are decreased due to the fear of middle and special predators, respectively. The additional food is supplied to both predators by either nature or external agencies. Furthermore, the poisoned prey in the predator's environment is taken into account. In the proposed model, we use two time delays: one for the growth term of the middle predator and another for the gestation delay of the special predator. We determine the conditions for the existence of ecologically feasible equilibrium points and their local and global stability. In addition, we establish the conditions for the existence of Hopf bifurcation around interior equilibrium to seek periodic behavior in nondelayed and delayed models. Numerical investigations are performed to justify the proposed theoretical findings through phase portraits, time series of solutions, and bifurcation diagrams. We observe that the chaotic dynamics of a tri-trophic food chain model can be controlled by the proper choice of the fear effect and by supplying additional food parameters. As a result, our findings provide more ecological insights into the dynamics of the delayed tri-trophic food chain model with the fear effect and additional food supply. © 2023 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Recently, a reference derived some new higher-order output tracking properties for direct model reference adaptive control（MRAC） of linear time-invariant（LTI） systems: limt→∞ e（i）（t） = 0, i = 1,..., n*-1, where n*and e（i）（t） denote the relative degree of the system and the i-th derivative of the output tracking error, respectively. However, a naturally arising question involves whether indirect adaptive control（including indirect MRAC and indirect adaptive pole placement control） of LTI systems still has higher-order tracking properties. Such properties have not been reported in the literature. Therefore, this paper provides an affirmative answer to this question. Such higher-order tracking properties are new discoveries since they hold without any additional design conditions and, in particular, without the persistent excitation condition. Given the higher-order properties, a new adaptive control system is developed with stronger tracking features.（1） It can track a reference signal with any order derivatives being unknown.（2） It has higher-order exponential or practical output tracking properties.（3） Finally, it is different from the usual MRAC system, whose reference signal's derivatives up to the n*order are assumed to be known. Finally, two simulation examples are provided to verify the theoretical results obtained in this paper.

The shape of the wavefront is important for the most realistic reproduction of the acoustic wave. In acoustics, the wave front (or wave surface) is defined as the totality of points in the space of the propagating medium that have the same instantaneous elongation amplitude. In the ideal case, in a homogeneous and isotropic propagation medium without other disturbances, the wave has a spherical symmetry, i.e. the shape of the wavefront is circular and at large distances from the wave source, due to dispersion, the shape of the wavefront can be considered plan. In practice, however, due to the multiple component harmonics, reflections and possible summations of the primary acoustic wave, the elongation has a non-sinusoidal shape, and the wavefront may have an irregular random shape. Moreover, if the source of the wave or bodies from which it is reflected are in motion, the shape of the wavefront may even be variable in time. The paper presents a method for determining the shape of the wave front of a non-sinusoidal periodic plane acoustic wave, resulting from the addition of several harmonic components, reflected waves, etc. It uses an array of omnidirectional capacitive microphones arranged in line, at equal distances between them. At each of the microphones, the acoustic wave is captured out of phase depending on the position of the microphone in space and the shape of the wave front. These phase shifts placed next to each other give an image of the shape of the wavefront captured by the microphone system. The method presented in this paper reproduces sounds very realistically and can be used in Active Noise Cancel systems, in open spaces, with one or more mobile noise sources. One of the benefits is the increase in hearing comfort in noisy environments. Another is to record sounds with high fidelity. © 2023 IEEE.

ERTMS and ALSN signalling systems are two of the major signalling systems that are under operation in the world. With the introduction of technical specifications for interoperability, ERTMS promises increased passenger and freight attractiveness and seamless cross-border operation. The ERTMS specifications recognise ETCS as a Class A train protection system and other signalling systems in Europe as Class B train protection systems. The specifications further define 'Specific Transmission Modules' (STMs) that enable trains with ETCS onboard to operate in railway lines that are equipped with Class B train protection systems. Although ALSN is classified as a Class B train protection system, ALSN STM is not defined yet. This paper focuses on proposing a novel ALSN STM that enables trains with ETCS onboard to operate in the countries where ALSN trackside is operational. The proposed STM unit is conceptualised as a system architecture, and a new standardised interface is introduced to enable signalling interoperability between ERTMS and ALSN. © 2023 IEEE.

Distributed Resilient control of Cyber-Physical Multi-Agent systems Under Attacks

This paper delves into the distributed resilient state estimation-based secure control in multi-agent systems under false-data injection attacks. Firstly, we propose a novel adaptive distributed output observer approach that is based on resilient outputs. The key feature of our proposed observer is its sole dependence on the coefficients of the minimal polynomial of the leader's system matrix, rather than on individual entries of the leader's system. Subsequently, to identify the target attacker, we assign both trust and confidence values to each agent and its neighbors, thereby enabling attack detection and localization. Furthermore, we propose a distributed finite-time resilient control strategy, grounded in trust and confidence, to safeguard against attackers while ensuring secure output estimation and maintaining a bounded upper limit for finite-time convergence. Additionally, we introduce a piecewise function-based approximation method to achieve a less conservative upper bound for the convergence time, compared to traditional methods. Finally, we provide a numerical example to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed theoretical analysis. © 2023 IEEE.
