The simulating of a servo drive with symmetrical pulse width controlling is implemented by the ISMA platform. This task is classified as an event-continuous or hybrid system. Since the dynamic processes can be event-driven, the finite-state machine notation by D. Harel (statechart as formalism) is applied to build a mathematical model for the problem. The statechart with three states complying the Cauchy problem is designed, predicates for directed transitions, as well as states equations are defined. The original LISMA language, combining both block and textual coding, which allows to form compact models that correspond bijectively to statechart formalism used for event-driven continuous systems, is applied. A fragment of the LISMA language grammar for determining the states and transitions of hybrid systems is presented. The designed ISMA software is resolved by original explicit and semi-explicit numerical methods with the asymptotic algorithm for event detection, included to the ISMA library. Computer experiments demonstrate good results with sufficient accuracy.

This article describes in detail the implementation of an automated parking house model based on ATmega2560 microcontroller that enables simple and efficient parking of cars in precisely determined positions. Described model offers to user convenient parking of the car model. In addition to the automated parking system, the system provides several additional functions realized by displacement sensors and smoke sensors. One of the goals of this paper is to eliminate potentially dangerous situations and collisions during parking and thereby increase safety in this area. The garage house model is not designed solely for parking purposes but also as a practical teaching tool in the field of sensors and actuators. It is precisely in this area that students can expand their skills in designing and implementing programs that can enable all the functions of the garage house - temperature and smoke detection, precise positioning of the platform through stepper motors, display outputs, and more. At the same time, they will learn teamwork, where the functionality of the garage house is divided into multiple parts, and individual teams of students must collaborate to successfully solve and create a fully functional garage house software. © 2023 IEEE.

The authors highlight the need for the development and industrial deployment of online monitoring systems for the elastic moment on the rolling mill stand spindles. An example of a 5000 plate mill was used to demonstrate that these systems are made due to the need for a reliable moment assessment in dynamic modes. This problem is relevant for the development of control systems limiting the maximum (amplitude) values of moments when the workpieces enter the stand. The shock loading causes a multifold increase of the dynamic moment over the steady rolling moment. This results in the fatigue breakdown of spindle connections., as well as mill failures and emergency stops. The authors provide information on a telemetric elastic moment monitoring system installed on a 5000 mill. The data were validated in the industrial context. To achieve this, the authors propose a procedure where experimental research is carried out in two stages. During the first stage, the electromagnetic moment of the motor is compared to the spindle moment in the quasi-steady rolling mode when the elastic properties of the spindle are not manifested. During the second stage, the elastic moments of the upper and lower roll motors are assessed during 9 passes of reverse rolling. Some conclusions are made about the proportion of roll motor loads, spindle moment amplitudes, and the relevance of aligning rolling moments through the improvement of electric drive speed control algorithms. © 2024 IEEE.

Now computer science methods are actively used in different areas of Industry 4.0., including in the postal service to automate the transportation of postal items. The problem of transportation is particularly acute for postal objects of large volumes and weights, as it is performed manually and is one of the most time-consuming operations. The article describes the development of a prototype intelligent robotic system with computer vision to recognize and transport such postal objects (parcels). An analysis of modern scientific and practical developments, methods and means of image processing, including methods of contour analysis, and video stream processing algorithms is carried out. The stages of design and integration of the computer vision subsystem into the robotic complex are described.

Mobile robots, which are produced to fulfill certain tasks to make our lives easier, are becoming more and more common in our environment day by day. In the long run, these robots can be more cost-effective, faster, and more efficient than humans in accomplishing tasks. In order for mobile robots to fulfill the tasks, they need to be able to safely navigate to specific destinations without hitting obstacles. Safely reaching a given goal most accurately and shortly is the problem of autonomy. This autonomy problem is divided into sub-problems and algorithms are needed to solve each sub-problem. The main sub-problems in the field of autonomy are localization, mapping, local planning, and global planning. The main purpose of this paper is to describe how the position information computed by a MEKF (Modified Extended Kalman Filter) localization algorithm using the VDPL (Virtual Dynamic Point Landmark) algorithm, which was previously designed in MATLAB, is published to the ROS environment via a topic. This position information can be used together with the local and global planning algorithms in the navigation stack to realize fully autonomous driving capability in a real-time environment. Using these algorithms, full-autonomous driving tests were conducted on the Turtlebot3 mobile robot in a real-time environment according to a predefined scenario. The performance results of both simulation and real-world tests show that the MEKF using the VDPL algorithm outperforms the AMCL algorithm in the navigation stack in both cases.

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of different Pharmacokinetic-Pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) models for administering Propofol and Remifentanil, two critical agents in anesthesia. Initially, different PK models were introduced: one for Propofol based on the Schnider model and another for Remifentanil using the Minto model. Alternatively, both drugs were modeled using the Eleveld models. The PK-PD models were integrated into a closed-loop control system using model predictive control (MPC) with disturbances to control the Bispectral index (BIS) and the Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale (RASS). The methodology involved simulating the anesthetic agents in the open-source patient simulator (2 inputs, 2 outputs) with 12 patient datasets in a controlled environment to simulate the patient response variability, allowing for a detailed analysis of the model's performance in maintaining optimal drug concentrations. The primary focus was on the system's ability to adapt to surgical disturbances, a key challenge in anesthesia management, and whether a different modeling of drugs can have an impact on their effects. The results indicated significant differences in the performance of the two models configurations. The Eleveld model for Propofol showed less usage of drugs to maintain the desired BIS value. Concluding that this comparative analysis offers a valuable reference for selecting appropriate modeling approaches in the development of advanced control strategies in anesthesia.

The paper considers the problem of fault identification in dynamic systems described by linear differential equations. To solve this problem, diagnostic observers constructed on the basis of optimal control methods are used. The proposed new method for the synthesis of such observers is based on the idea of introducing a new system with some auxiliary control which plays a role of an unknown vector function describing emerging faults. This control is proposed to be formed in such a way that it provides a minimum for the residual functional. Unlike popular approaches to solving the problem of fault identification based on observers operating in a sliding mode, the proposed method allows us to expand the class of systems for which the identification problem can be solved. It is known that the methods of sliding mode observers design impose certain restrictions on the systems under consideration. The suggested theory is illustrated by an example. The simulation results confirmed the operability of the diagnostic observers synthesized using the method proposed in the work. © 2022 IEEE.

Purpose of work is development of design method of robust combined electromagnetic silence including active and solid passive parts for improvement of silence effectiveness of magnetic field (MF) generated by overhead power lines (OPL) inside old residential buildings and for reducing sensitivity to system parameters changes based on 3D modeling and geometric inverse magneto quasi-static problem solution. Combined silence includes double-circuit active and U-shaped solid passive part and MF level reducing efficiency increased. Combined silence design reduced to geometric inverse magneto quasi static problem (GIMGSP) solution based on minimax vector optimization problem (MMVOP) solution with vector objective function (VOF) calculated based on 3D Maxwell equations solutions in quasi-stationary approximation by COMSOL Multiphysics ® software package used. MMVOP solution calculated based on multi swarm particle optimization algorithm (MSPOA) from Pareto-optimal solutions taking into account binary preference relations. Active silence system two compensation winding’s spatial location coordinates as well as windings currents magnitudes and phases calculated during combined silence design. U-shaped solid passive silence parameters also calculated. Modeling and experimental studies of designed combined system effectiveness MF silence generated by OPL inside old residential buildings carried out based on 3D modeling presented. Initial MF level possibility reduced to sanitary standards level shown. © 2024 SPIE.

The paper examines the influence of the working fluid temperature on power losses in an electro-hydraulic servo system. The behavior of the system has been investigated under Proportional-Integral (PI) control at different working fluid temperatures and various control setpoints. An Adaptive PID controller has been synthesized, utilizing feedback from sensors to measure various system parameters (such as temperature, pressure, and RPM), and then adapting the parameters of the P, I, and D components of the controller based on this data to achieve optimal regulation.
