In this paper,we study the consensus problem of multiple Euler-Lagrange systems subject to limited communication resources and parametric ***,an event-triggered communication scheme is proposed to achieve the leaderless consensus *** the proposed event-triggered mechanism,the state of each subsystem is transmitted at event instants which are aperiodic and asynchronous with respect to other ***,we consider the time-delay effects in *** consensus analysis of the proposed scheme is based on the small-gain *** simulation results on a network of robot manipulators are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

Multi-Human Pose Estimation by Deep Learning-Based Sequential Approach for Human keypoint Position and Human Body Detection

Recent multimedia and computer vision research has focused on analyzing human behavior and activity using images. Skeleton estimation, known as pose estimation, has received a significant attention. For human pose estimation, deep learning approaches primarily emphasize on the keypoint features. Conversely, in the case of occluded or incomplete poses, the keypoint feature is insufficiently substantial, especially when there are multiple humans in a single frame. Other features, such as the body border and visibility conditions, can contribute to pose estimation in addition to the keypoint feature. Our model framework integrates multiple features, namely the human body mask features, which can serve as a constraint to keypoint location estimation, the body keypoint features, and the keypoint visibility via mask region-based convolutional neural network (Mask-RCNN). A sequential multi-feature learning setup is formed to share multi-features across the structure, whereas, in the Mask-RCNN, the only feature that could be shared through the system is the region of interest feature. By two-way up-scaling with the shared weight process to produce the mask, we have addressed the problems of improper segmentation, small intrusion, and object loss when Mask-RCNN is used, for instance, segmentation. Accuracy is indicated by the percentage of correct keypoint, and our model can identify 86.1% of the correct keypoints. © 2023, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The joint design of control and transmission has been demonstrated to be a successful technique for enhancing the performance of industrial cyber-physical systems (ICPS). In the majority of existing works, the control cost and the transmission cost are defined independently, followed by a weighted total calculation. This approach suffers from a dimension consistency issue, leading the results to diverge from the system's actual optimal performance. Hence, it is necessary to consider the overall information of the loop and characterize the coupling relationship between control and transmission to construct the overall system performance function. This paper proposes a full loop age of information (FL-AoI) based control and transmission joint design architecture for multi-subsystem ICPS integrating multi-hop network. The state delay, input delay, and event trigger are all taken into consideration by FL-AoI to more fully portray the freshness of the information. We provide a novel control performance based on FL-AoI where the network characteristics are incorporated into the control cost, which could tackle the dimensionality mismatch brought by the form of weighted summation of the control and transmission cost. We also provide the FL-AoI-based strategy for the controller and event-triggering mechanism and derive the cost's boundary. The evaluation results demonstrate that, in comparison to the conventional joint design strategy, our solution increases the stability of the control system while decreasing the network burden. © 2023 IEEE.

We investigate the problem of optimal control synthesis for Markov Decision Processes (MDPs), addressing both qualitative and quantitative objectives. Specifically, we require the system to fulfill a qualitative surveillance task in the sense that a specific region of interest can be visited infinitely often with probability one. Furthermore, to quantify the performance of the system, we consider the concept of efficiency, which is defined as the ratio between rewards and costs. This measure is more general than the standard long-run average reward metric as it aims to maximize the reward obtained per unit cost. Our objective is to synthesize a control policy that ensures the surveillance task while maximizes the efficiency. We provide an effective approach to synthesize a stationary control policy achieving -optimality by integrating state classifications of MDPs and perturbation analysis in a novel manner. Our results generalize existing works on efficiency-optimal control synthesis for MDP by incorporating qualitative surveillance tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

To achieve precise localization,autonomous vehicles usually rely on a multi-sensor perception system surrounding the mobile *** is a time-consuming process,and mechanical distortion will cause extrinsic calibration ***,we propose a lidar-visual-inertial odometry,which is combined with an adapted sliding window mechanism and allows for online nonlinear optimization and extrinsic *** the adapted sliding window mechanism,spatial-temporal alignment is performed to manage measurements arriving at different *** nonlinear optimization with online calibration,visual features,cloud features,and inertial measurement unit(IMU)measurements are used to estimate the ego-motion and perform extrinsic *** experiments were carried out on both public datasets and real-world *** indicate that the proposed system outperforms state-of-the-art open-source methods when facing challenging sensor-degenerating conditions.

Using machine vision for meter reading significantly enhances the efficiency of industrial monitoring. However, meters in outdoor environment are often subject to the noise such as rain and fog, which affect the accuracy of meter readings. Additionally, the meter images and labels under noise are hard to obtain. To address these challenges, We propose a method for pointer meter reading under noise based on virtual data generation. Firstly, We utilize Unity to construct an industrial meter scene, which generates the images of meter under noise and theri labels. Secondly, we develop a U-Net network with an ASPP module, which expands the receptive field of network and enhances the ability of segmentation network to capture global semantic information under noise. Finally, the angular method is used to calculate the meter readings. Experimental results show that this method can effectively read meters under noise in outdoor environments. © 2024 IEEE.

Automatic defect detection on wood surface is essential for ensuring product quality. Semantic segmentation methods have shown outstanding performance in wood defect detection. However, it is costly to acquire correct pixel-level labels of wood surface defects due to the complicated characteristics. To mitigate the cost of acquiring high-quality datasets, this study proposes a semi-supervised defect detection approach based on generative adversarial networks, which contains a generator and a discriminator. The generator is utilized to generate pixel-level segmentation results of wood defect images. To improve the segmentation performance, the discriminator learns against the generator by judging the goodness of the prediction results and generates supervised signals for the prediction results of unlabeled images. With this learning model, the proposed method can enhance segmentation performance using unlabeled images and alleviate the burden of data annotation. We validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach on a collected dataset of wood defects. Experimental results demonstrate the remarkable performance of our method even when utilizing only a small amount of annotated data. © 2024 IEEE.

Discoloration defect detection is a significant task in the wood industry for ensuring the appearance and quality of wooden products. However, discoloration defect detection still faces some challenges due to the low contrast, blurred boundary, and slender shape of discoloration defects. To overcome these challenges, we propose a multi-branch feature encoding HRNet(MFE-HRNet) for wood surface discoloration defect detection. The network maintains high-resolution features and builds a parallel multi-resolution architecture to prevent the dilution of low-contrast discoloration defect features. Through repeated cross-fusion of multi-scale features, the network enhances the global representation of blurry features. In order to effectively preserve the detail features of the defect edge, a multi-branch feature encoding module (MFEM) is proposed as the encoding layer of the network. In the MFEM, multiple branches concurrently extract features, generating feature maps with complementary characteristics, thereby enhancing the ability of network to recognize fine details of defects. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of our method in detecting discoloration defects on wood surface. © 2024 IEEE.

Blended learning integrates online and face-to-face (FTF) teaching methods to offer students in higher education a flexible and customized educational experience. Despite its significant advantages in promoting academic achievement and increasing student participation, blended learning presents challenges for educators due to difficulties in collecting and analyzing learning behavior data. Existing research mainly focuses on single learning modes, and data collection methods primarily rely on interviews and questionnaires, which can be subjective. To address these challenges, this study developed a mobile software called EasyClass, integrated with an online Small Private Online Course(SPOC) platform, to automatically record student behaviors in a blended learning environment. Obtaining data from an undergraduate blended learning course, statistical methods are used to analyze the correlation between student behaviors and final grades, as well as to identify factors affecting grades. The results of multivariate linear regression models confirmed the feasibility and effectiveness of blended instruction. This study provides a new approach to identifying and disseminating effective data collection strategies in blended learning, enabling educators and educational institutions to better understand and assess student behaviors, and to further explore their impact on final academic achievement. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an event-based asymptotic tracking control scheme designed for strict feedback systems with unknown control directions. The control directions directly determine how the controller acts on the system, thus impacting the system's stability and convergence speed. When the control directions are unknown, it presents a significant challenge in controller design. To tackle this issue, the Nussbaum-type gains are introduced. However, this method increases communication overhead. Hence, an event-triggered mechanism is introduced to alleviate this burden. Additionally, to achieve and maintain desired target states, satisfying control requirements and performance demands, this paper improves the event-triggered mechanism to achieve asymptotic tracking. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed design are validated through a simulation example. © 2024 Asian control Association.
