The system of engine in a car is one of the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) implementations. This system applies the basic concept of MHD, which is fluid motion that can conduct electric current because of a magnetic field. Several researchers therefore commenced to develop these ideas by observing the characteristics of the numerical simulation solutions. Because of the significance of this research, we are interested in assessing the effect of forced convection on MHD fluid flow, especially nano-fluids, when passing over a magnetic object. We therefore consider the MHD analysis of nano-fluids through sliced magnetic spheres that are induced by mixed convection problem using a mathematical model. This mathematical model is developed from the continuity equation, the momentum equation and the energy equation. The model is then elucidated numerically by means of the finite difference method with the Keller-Box scheme and MATLAB software. Furthermore, within numerical simulations investigated the effects of magnetic parameters (M), slice angle parameters (θs), and volume fraction of nano-fluid (X) towards fluid velocity and temperature. The numerical solutions express that when the magnetic parameter (M) rises, the velocity of the nano-fluid drops and the temperature of the nanofluid growths. When the cut angle parameter (θs) enlarges, the velocity of the nano-fluid enhances and the temperature of the nano-fluid lessens. When the volume fraction of nanofluid (X) expansions, the velocity of the nano-fluid falls and the temperature of the nanofluid rises.

In this study, mixed cultures of brown-rot fungus Gloeophyllum trabeum and filamentous fungus Trichoderma viride in decolorizing Methylene Blue (MB) has been investigated. T. viride culture was mixed with G. trabeum culture and then MB was added into the media to achieve final concentration 95.24 mg/L. The results showed single culture of G. trabeum and T. viride can decolorize MB only 31.50% and 53.89%, respectively. While decolorization of MB by mixed cultures of G. trabeum and T. viride reached to 74.72% in a liquid medium of potato dextrose broth (PDB) for 7 days. The results showed mixed cultures had the highest ability to decolorize MB among those variations. Based on the LC- TOF/MS analysis, the peak of MB in mixed cultures treatment had a lower intensity compared to the peak of MB in abiotic control. The metabolites from MB biodecolorization by G. trabeum were C8H10N2SO5, C6H8N2SO3, C16H20N3SO, C6H7NSO3, and C12H10N3S, while the metabolites from MB biodecolorization of T. viride were C16H23N3O3S, C22H26NO2S, and C31H48N3S. On the other hand, the metabolites from the MB biodecolorization by mixed cultures were C16H23N3O3S, C31H48N3S, C31H47N2OS and C17H20N2S. This study indicated that mixed cultures of brown-rot fungus G. trabeum and filamentous fungus T. viride was effective to decolorize MB dye.

This study reported methylene blue (MB) dye decolorization by using mixed consortium culture, brown-rot fungus (BRF) Gloeophyllum trabeum which is known as degradative fungus with bacterium Bacillus subtilis addition. B. subtilis were added into G. trabeum cultures at variation 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 mL and incubated statically (1 mL = 9.47 × 108 CFU). All of mixed cultures had ability to decolorize MB (100 mg/L) in potato dextrose broth (PDB) medium during incubation process at 30 °C for 7 days. The addition of 10 mL B. subtilis in fungus culture showed the highest of MB decolorized, approximately 82%, while using G. trabeum culture only was approximately 11%. The metabolites of MB biodecolorization were identified and characterized by LC-TOF/MS, which were N-(7-(dimethylamino)-1-hydroxy-3H-phenothiazin-3-ylidene)-N-methylmethanaminium; 2-amino-5-(dimethylamino)-3-((3-(dimethylamino) phenyl) sulfinyl) phenol; and N-7-(7-(dimethylamino)-1,4,6,9-tetrahydroxy-3H-phenothiazin-3-ylidene)-N-methylmethanaminium. Those results could indicate that the mixed consortium culture of BRF G. trabeum with B. subtilis addition were efficient for dye wastewater treatment.
