Traditional method of images is routinely applied in electrostatic problems with infinite ground planes. However, practical situations almost always deal with finite ground planes. This causes the prediction to be inexact. For the first time, the differences between them are analyzed and a new model for the image is proposed, for small ground planes in two-dimension. In this model, two additional charges are introduced at either side of the ground plane to improve the prediction. This model predicts the potential with less error compared with the traditional method of images. © 2022, The Institution of Engineers (India).

This article deals with the accuracy check of the PQ analyzers using the OMICRON CMC 356 calibrator. This article describes the principle and concept of three applications used to test the accuracy of various quantities important in PQ measurements. Furthermore, the GUI of each application, its principle, and description of functionality, software architecture, and implementation in the LabVIEW graphical programming environment are described. The purpose of the applications is the automated generation of a three-phase voltage at the output of the OMICRON CMC 356 calibrator with parameters defined by the operator to test the accuracy of the PQ analyzers. The first application is used to generate the harmonic components according to EN 50160 with definable deviations from the standard and duration intervals. The second application is to generate defined sequence of events (overvoltages, undervoltages, faults) with a definable duration. The third application is used to simulate different types of voltage fluctuations called flicker at the output of the calibrator. © 2023 IEEE.

Joint V2V Group Association and Transmission Power Control in Federated Vehicular Networks

With growing awareness of privacy protection, Federated Learning (FL) in vehicular network scenarios effectively addresses privacy concerns, leading to the development of Federated Vehicular Networks (FVN). In FVN, vehicles maintain a global model by transmitting local models and iterative processing, resulting in significant communication overhead. In the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), as the majority of the spectrum resources are allocated to Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication, vehicles engaged in FL encounter uplink interference when these resources are reused. This compromises the efficacy of FL vehicle communication. To address this issue, we propose FedCDC, a new Federated learning framework with adaptive weight Clustering with knowledge Distillation and Channel sharing-based resource allocation. First, we implement a communication compression strategy based on clustering and distillation to alleviate transmission load. Then, we develop a resource allocation strategy to maximize the Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) for both FL vehicles and V2V groups, which investigates two critical components: channel pairing and power coordination. We formulate the optimization issue as a multi-objective optimization problem that is solved offline using the MIDACO solver. Due to the dynamic characteristics of FVN, we employ a Multi-Agent Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (MADDPG) to enhance efficiency. Finally, extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach significantly reduces data transmission and offers an efficient resource coordination plan, thus improving FL communication efficiency and ensuring the Quality of Service (QoS) for both V2V groups and FL vehicles. © 2014 IEEE.

In this paper, we present a novel contribution to the problem of the detection of potential anomalous cosmic rays particle tracks acquired by Earth-scale complex distributed observatory infrastructure. Detection of such signals provides an opportunity to analyze the performance of the entire research infrastructure of a complex system (for example, potential failures) and a chance to record unknown physical phenomena that can be recorded simultaneously with space radiation observations. The observatory comprises a worldwide network of CMOS detectors cooperating in the citizen science paradigm. We propose, evaluate, and compare several data processing, feature extractions, and potential anomaly discovery pipelines based on machine learning approaches. Although, to date, there have already been published works performing detection and analysis of anomalies in the Cosmic Ray Extremely Distributed Observatory Project (CREDO) dataset, they applied single methods without comparing the results with other possible approaches to analyze potential anomalies. In this work, for the first time, we have used and discussed many anomalous discovery approaches not previously applied to this issue to perform analysis of this extensive dataset (nearly 600,000 images). For this reason, the results published here are of significant cognitive importance to the problem under consideration. During the last decade, the use of social media has exploded. One of the internet’s most popular and accessible social media sites is Twitter in which people can have micro-blog to post their views on any subject, called a tweet. Indonesia becomes one of country which has the most active user of social media. On the other side, Indonesia has experienced a great deal of natural disasters because it is located in a pacific ring of fire. It is needed effective disaster management used in Indonesia, especially with the help of social media data. Big data analysis obtained during turbulent and unorganized emergency situations is the perfect fit for effective management. During a disaster, it is vital to manage the proper decision to help people affected with their needs. This research investigated some methods used in social media analysis and then apply deep learning model for supervised tasks which classify the related and unrelated disasters on tweet datasets and Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) for unsupervised learning which extracts the details category on the disaster Twitter data. The LSTM model architecture obtained a higher score accuracy than CNN. Moreover, the LDA topic modeling obtained potential results on the details topic from the datasets which could describe useful information to help disaster management. © 2023 IEEE.

The escalating reliance on biometric systems for identity verification underscores the imperative for robust data protection mechanisms. Biometric authentication, leveraging unique biological and behavioral characteristics, offers unparalleled precision in individual identification. However, the integrity and confidentiality of biometric data remain paramount concerns, given its susceptibility to compromise. This research delineates the development and implementation of an innovative framework for cancellable biometrics, focusing on facial and fingerprint recognition. This study introduces a novel cancellable biometrics framework that integrates graph theory encryption with three-dimensional chaotic logistic mapping. The methodology encompasses a multifaceted approach: initially employing graph theory for the secure and efficient encryption of biometric data, subsequently enhanced by the complexity and unpredictability of three-dimensional chaotic logistic mapping. This dual-layered strategy ensures the robustness of the encryption, thereby significantly elevating the security of biometric data against unauthorized access and potential compromise. Thus, the resulting cancellable biometrics, characterized by the ability to transform biometric data into an adjustable representation, addresses critical challenges in biometric security. It allows for the revocation and reissuance of biometric credentials, thereby safeguarding the original biometric characteristics of individuals. This feature not only enhances user privacy and data security but also introduces a dynamic aspect to biometric authentication, facilitating adaptability across diverse systems and applications. Preliminary evaluations of the proposed framework demonstrate a marked improvement in the security of face and fingerprint recognition systems. The Internet of Things (IoT) stands as a revolutionary leap in digital connectivity, envisioning a future network connecting billions of devices, seamlessly. Amidst the myriad benefits, there arises an intricate web of challenges, prominently centered around potential threats and data security implications. Recent cryptography techniques, such as DNA-based cryptography, 3D chaos-based cryptography, and optical cryptography, face challenges including large encryption times, high energy consumption, and suboptimal rather than optimal performance. Particularly, the burden of long encryption cycles strains the energy resources of typical low-power and compact IoT devices. These challenges render the devices vulnerable to unauthorized breaches, despite large storage capacities. The hallmark of the IoT ecosystem, characterized by its low-power compact devices, is the burgeoning volume of data they generate. This escalating data influx, while necessitating expansive storage, remains vulnerable to unauthorized access and breaches. Historically, encryption algorithms, with their multifaceted architectures, have been the bulwark against such intrusions. However, their inherently-complex nature, entailing multiple encryption cycles, strains the limited energy reserves of typical IoT devices. In response to this intricate dilemma, we present a hybrid lightweight encryption strategy. Our algorithm innovatively leverages both one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) chaotic key generators. Furthermore, it amalgamates a classical encryption philosophy, harmonizing the strengths of Feistel and substitution-permutation networks. The centerpiece of our strategy is achieving effective encryption in merely three rounds, tailored expressly for compressed Three-Dimensional Video (3DV) frames, ensuring their unwavering integrity.
