The Internet of Multimedia Things (IoMT) has recently experienced a considerable surge in multimedia-based services. Due to the fast proliferation and transfer of massive data, the IoMT has service quality challenges. This article proposes a novel fog-based multimedia transmission scheme for the IoMT using the Sugano interference system with a quantum genetic optimization algorithm. The fuzzy system devises a mathematically organized strategy for generating fuzzy rules from input and output variables. The quantum genetic algorithm (QGA) is a metaheuristic algorithm that combines genetic algorithms and quantum computing theory. It combines many critical elements of quantum computing, such as quantum superposition and entanglement. This provides a robust representation of population diversity and the capacity to achieve rapid convergence and high accuracy. As a result of the simulations and computational analysis, the proposed fuzzy-based QGA scheme improves the packet delivery ratio and throughput by reducing end-to-end latency and delay when compared to traditional algorithms like genetic algorithm, particle swarm optimization, heterogeneous earliest finish time, and ant colony optimization. Consequently, it provides a more efficient scheme for multimedia transmission in the IoMT. © 1994-2012 IEEE.

Ultracompact entangled photon sources are pivotal to miniaturized quantum photonic *** der Waals(vdW)nonlinear crystals promise efficient photon-pair generation and on-chip monolithic integration with nanophotonic ***,it remains challenging to generate maximally entangled Bell states of photon pairs with high purity,generation rate,and fidelity required for practical ***,we realize a polarization-entangled photon-pair source based on spontaneous parametric down conversion in an ultrathin rhombohedral tungsten disulfide(3R-WS2)*** vdW entangled photonic source exhibits a high photon-pair purity with a coincidenceto-accidental ratio of above 800,a generation rate of 31 Hz,and two maximally polarization-entangled Bell states with fidelities exceeding 0.93 and entanglement degree over *** results stem from scalable optical nonlinearity,enhanced second-order susceptibility by electronic transitions,and a well-defined symmetry-enabled selection rule inherent in *** polarization entangled photon source can be integrated with photonic structures for generating more complex entangled states,thus paving an avenue for advanced quantum photonic systems toward computation and metrology.

Studies of cultured embryos have provided insights into human peri-implantation ***,detailed knowledge of peri-implantation lineage development as well as underlying mechanisms remains *** 3D-cultured human embryos,herein we report a complete cell atlas of the early post-implantation lineages and decipher cellular composition and gene signatures of the epiblast and hypoblast *** addition,we develop an embryo-like assembloid(E-assembloid)by assembling naive hESCs and extraembryoniic *** human embryos and E-assembloids,we reveal that WNT,BMP and Nodal signaling pathways synergistically,but functionally differently,orchestrate human peri-implantation lineage ***,we dissect mechanisms underlying extraembryonic mesoderm and extraembryonic endoderm ***,an improved E-assembloid is developed to recapitulate the epiblast and hypoblast development and tissue architectures in the pre-gastrulation human *** findings provide insights into human peri-implantation development,and the E-assembloid offers a useful model to disentangle cellular behaviors and signaling interactions that drive human embryogenesis.

Beamspace single-carrier and multi-carrier transmission schemes for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems using single-radio-frequency (RF) electronically steerable parasitic array radiator (ESPAR) antenna are investigated. Single-RF MIMO based on ESPAR antenna has advantages of smaller size, low cost and higher energy efficiency when compared to conventional MIMO antenna. While with mutual coupling and single RF chain, MIMO transmission using ESPAR is conducted in beamspace domain where multiple streams of symbols are mapped onto a set of orthogonal far-field radiation patterns instead of antenna elements. In this work, single-carrier beamspace spatial modulation (SM) as well as generalized SM are studied while for multi-carrier case, SM-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and OFDM are investigated. By finding the optimal reactive loads of ESPAR, these single and multi-carrier MIMO transmission schemes can be performed by exciting the radiation patterns corresponding to the symbol streams. Simulation example using ESPAR of 5-element uniform circular array for various schemes in frequency-selective channel are provided. It is shown that bit error rate (BER) of the MIMO system using ESPAR with optimized radiation patterns achieves close performance to conventional MIMO systems, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach and its promise in sixth-generation (6G) wireless communication. © 2024 IEEE.

Cooperative perception is a promising paradigm to tackle the perception limitations of a single intelligent vehicle (IV) to enhance the driving safety and efficiency in intelligent vehicular networks. However, the real-time transmission and computation-intensive fusion of raw sensing data raise new challenges for satisfying the stringent delay requirement of delay-sensitive applications. In this paper, we formulate a joint optimization problem of the cooperative IV selection, compression ratio selection, transmit power control, task offloading decision and computation allocation to minimize the end-to-end delay consisting of compression, transmission and computation. In particular, to meet the perception probability requirement, the quality and quantity-aware matching algorithm is proposed to optimize the cooperative IV selection. To guarantee the queue stability of offloading tasks, we develop the Lyapunov optimization algorithm to determine the upper bound of the offloading tasks and the corresponding optimal computation allocation. The Lyapunov aided deep reinforcement learning algorithm is further proposed to dynamically adjust the task offloading decision and compression ratio selection to minimize the end-to-end delay with the transmit power control being optimized by the successive convex approximation algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that, compared to several benchmark algorithms, our proposed algorithm achieves the lowest end-to-end delay while guaranteeing the requirements on perception probability and queue stability effectively. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Data with missing values,or incomplete information,brings some challenges to the development of classification,as the incompleteness may significantly affect the performance of *** this paper,we handle missing values in both training and test sets with uncertainty and imprecision reasoning by proposing a new belief combination of classifier(BCC)method based on the evidence *** proposed BCC method aims to improve the classification performance of incomplete data by characterizing the uncertainty and imprecision brought by *** BCC,different attributes are regarded as independent sources,and the collection of each attribute is considered as a ***,multiple classifiers are trained with each subset independently and allow each observed attribute to provide a sub-classification result for the query ***,these sub-classification results with different weights(discounting factors)are used to provide supplementary information to jointly determine the final classes of query *** weights consist of two aspects:global and *** global weight calculated by an optimization function is employed to represent the reliability of each classifier,and the local weight obtained by mining attribute distribution characteristics is used to quantify the importance of observed attributes to the pattern *** comparative experiments including seven methods on twelve datasets are executed,demonstrating the out-performance of BCC over all baseline methods in terms of accuracy,precision,recall,F1 measure,with pertinent computational costs.

Ecosystems are undergoing unprecedented persistent deterioration due to unsustainable anthropogenic human activities,such as overfishing and deforestation,and the effects of such damage on ecological stability are *** recent advances in experimental and theoretical studies on regime shifts and tipping points,theoretical tools for understanding the extinction chain,which is the sequence of species extinctions resulting from overexploitation,are still lacking,especially for large-scale nonlinear networked *** this study,we developed a mathematical tool to predict regime shifts and extinction chains in ecosystems under multiple exploitation situations and verified it in 26 real-world mutualistic networks of various sizes and *** discovered five phases during the exploitation process:safe,partial extinction,bistable,tristable,and collapse,which enabled the optimal design of restoration strategies for degraded or collapsed *** validated our approach using a 20-year dataset from an eelgrass restoration ***,we also found a specific region in the diagram spanning exploitation rates and competition intensities,where exploiting more species helps increase *** computational tool provides insights into harvesting,fishing,exploitation,or deforestation plans while conserving or restoring the biodiversity of mutualistic ecosystems.

Extracellular vesicles(EVs)have been identified as promising biomarkers for the noninvasive diagnosis of various ***,challenges in separating EVs from soluble proteins have resulted in variable EV recovery rates and low ***,we report a high-yield(>90%)and rapid(<10 min)EV isolation method called FLocculation via Orbital Acoustic Trapping(FLOAT).The FLOAT approach utilizes an acoustofluidic droplet centrifuge to rotate and controllably heat liquid *** adding a thermoresponsive polymer flocculant,nanoparticles as small as 20 nm can be rapidly and selectively concentrated at the center of the *** demonstrate the ability of FLOAT to separate urinary EVs from the highly abundant Tamm-Horsfall protein,addressing a significant obstacle in the development of EV-based liquid *** to its high-yield nature,FLOAT reduces biofluid starting volume requirements by a factor of 100(from 20 mL to 200µL),demonstrating its promising potential in point-of-care diagnostics.
