As a huge amount of gene disorder information is available on the Internet, there is an increasing requirement to integrate these data sources. The integration of gene disorder data sources provides an important tool in the research of life science, therapeutics, and genetic disease prevention and inhibition. The key challenge of such integration is how to deal with semantic heterogeneity of multiple information resources. The paper proposes an ontology-based approach to describe and extract the semantics of genetic disorder terminologies and provides a mechanism for sharing and reusing genetic disorder knowledge. According to this unified meta model, heterogeneous gene disorder data sources can be integrated, and a semantic middleware has the ability to do reasoning on the knowledge base of gene disorder for users and applications' various queries

Abnormal intermuscular coordination is a major stroke-induced functional motor impairment in the upper extremity (UE). Previous studies have computationally identified the abnormalities in the intermuscular coordination in the stroke-affected UE and their negative impacts on motor outputs. Therefore, targeting the aberrant muscle synergies has the potential as an effective approach for stroke rehabilitation. Recently, we verified the modifiability of the naturally expressed muscle synergies of young able-bodied adults in UE through an electromyographic (EMG) signal-guided exercise protocol. This study tested if an EMG-guided exercise will induce new muscle synergies, alter the associated intermuscular connectivity, and improve UE motor outcome in stroke-affected UE with moderate-to-severe motor impairment. The study used the six-week isometric EMG signal-guided exercise protocol that focused on independently activating two specific muscles, the biceps and brachioradialis, to develop new muscle activation groups. The study found that both the stroke and age-matched, able-bodied groups were able to develop new muscle coordination patterns through the exercise while habitual muscle activation was still available, which led to improvements in the motor control of the trained arm. In addition, the results provided preliminary evidence of increased intermuscular connectivity between targeted muscles in the beta-band frequencies for stroke patients after training, suggesting a modulation of the common neural drive. These findings suggest that our isometric exercise protocol has the potential to improve stroke survivors' performance of UE in their activities in daily lives (ADLs) and, ultimately, their quality of life through expanding their repertoire of intermuscular *** Relevance— This study shows the feasibility of expanding the intermuscular coordination pattern in stroke-affected UE through an isometric EMG-guided exercise which positively affects ta

Uterine fibroid is the most common benign tumor of the female in the world. Uterine volume measurement before and after surgery has an important role in predict and following the result of surgery. Fibroids segmentation in patient with multi fibroids is the challenging task manually. We propose tow step method for robustly segmentation of these cases. The first step results in a uterine segmentation using FCM and some morphological operations in T1-Enhanced and T1 images. In the second step by applying a new method based on FCM, PCM and information of voxels neighborhoods (Modified PFCM_MPFCM) and knowledge based image processing final segmentation created. We compared manually segmented images results with the output of our system and we obtained 79.9% average of similarity index and 68.28% Jaccard index.

This research paper explores nuances of large language models along with a detailed analysis of various model types, and their associated advantages and drawbacks. The primary objective of this paper is to provide a brief knowledge about prevailing popular LLMs. This study further offers a thorough summary of the most recent survey articles that have been published on Large Language Models (LLMs) till date. Furthermore, a comparative study of the latest LLMs launched by popular organizations is also done, along with their evolution over a period of time. Challenges of LLMs are also outlined in this work.

Efficiently storing and retrieving archetype-based patient information can be a challenging task. This paper surveys current archetype-based system implementations in the world and in particular the different approaches that have been used to create 13606- or openEHR-based storage repositories. Data is reported from systems with a few records to millions of records, including both deployed systems in production and experimental systems. Worldwide 21 projects were found, 4 did not reply and 1 did not provide data. Many systems (n=ll) base their storage on RDBMS, then often (n=6) with some XML data fields. Dedicated XML (n=3) and object-oriented (n=2) databases were other examples of storage used. Query formalisms used include SQL, AQL, XQuery and XPath. Service interfaces via SOAP (n=12) or REST (n=6) are common. Most systems support dynamic configuration using new/changed archetypes and templates dynamically without system restart. Some (n=7) systems use demographic archetypes. In addition to the built in DBMS indexing mechanisms, one project reports use of an additional inverted index to achieve improved performance.
