This study explores Blockchain technology in the global financial industry using trends analysis, bibliometric analysis, and a literature appraisal using Elsevier Scopus data from 2016 to 2023. The Blockchain in Finance (BCF) study produced 185 publications: 53.5% papers, 45.4% conference proceedings, and 1.1% reviews. Analysis of the subject area revealed three important Computer Science, engineering, and Decision Sciences articles. However, source title analysis showed that ACM International Conference Proceeding Series, Sustainability Switzerland, and E3S Web of Conferences publish BCF research most often. According to the stakeholders study, Jon M. Truby and Qatar University (Qatar) are the top BCFin researchers and affiliations with 4% and % publications, respectively. China produces the most research on the topic. Due to active support from funding sources like the Chinese National Natural Science Foundation (NNSF), 18 publications have been funded. Co-occurrence of keywords The investigation indicated that BCFin’s top keywords include Blockchain, Finance, and Supply Chain Finance. Three clusters with 4–8 keywords, 132 linkages, and 866 TLS were found via cluster analysis. Keywords classify the clusters as Integrated business Solutions (Cluster 1), Digital Commerce Infrastructure (Cluster 2), and Decentralized Financial Network (Cluster 3). The findings indicate that BCFin is a dynamic and influential multidisciplinary study field. BCFin has transformed the global financial sector by improving trust, transaction security, and communication. Predicting future glycemic events such as hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, and normal for type 1 diabetes (T1D) remains a significant and challenging issue. In this study, an artificial neural network (ANN)-based model is proposed to predict the future glycemic events of T1D patients. We utilized five T1D patient datasets to build the models and predict future glycemic events with a prediction horizon (PH) of 30 and 60 minutes ahead of time. We applied the data preprocessing method based on the sliding window approach by sliding the blood glucose time-series data from the past 60 minutes (the last 12 data points) as input and using the next 30 and 60 minutes (the next 6 and 12-th data points) as output. All the numeric blood glucose output data are then transformed into a multi-class classification label, such as hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, and normal. Our proposed model is then used to learn and create the prediction model from the preprocessed blood glucose dataset. Four performance metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and f-1 score were utilized to measure the performance of the classification models used in this study, such as Naïve Bayes (NB), Decision Tree (DT), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN). The results showed that our proposed ANN-based model performed better at predicting future glycemic events than other models, with an average accuracy, precision, recall, and f-1 score of 88.649%, 76.661%, 71.731%, 72.609%, and 83.364%, 60.437%, 61.345%, 60.62% for the PH of 30 and 60 minutes, respectively. As a result, knowing this future glycemic event sooner can help patients avoid potentially dangerous conditions and can eventually be used to improve diabetes management. © 2022 IEEE.

Quantifying societal emotional resilience to natural disasters from geo-located social media content

Natural disasters can have devastating and long-lasting effects on a community’s emotional well-being. These effects may be distributed unequally, affecting some communities more profoundly and possibly over longer time periods than others. Here, we analyze the effects of four major US hurricanes, namely, Irma, Harvey, Florence, and Dorian on the emotional well-being of the affected communities and regions. We show that a community’s emotional response to a hurricane event can be measured from the content of social media that its population posted before, during, and after the hurricane. For each hurricane making landfall in the US, we observe a significant decrease in sentiment in the affected areas before and during the hurricane followed by a rapid return to pre-hurricane baseline, often within 1-2 weeks. However, some communities exhibit markedly different rates of decline and return to previous equilibrium levels. This points towards the possibility of measuring the emotional resilience of communities from the dynamics of their online emotional response. © 2022, CC BY.

Detecting brain tumours is complex due to the natural variation in their location, shape, and intensity in images. While having accurate detection and segmentation of brain tumours would be beneficial, current methods still need to solve this problem despite the numerous available approaches. Precise analysis of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is crucial for detecting, segmenting, and classifying brain tumours in medical diagnostics. Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a vital component in medical diagnosis, and it requires precise, efficient, careful, efficient, and reliable image analysis techniques. The authors developed a Deep Learning (DL) fusion model to classify brain tumours reliably. Deep Learning models require large amounts of training data to achieve good results, so the researchers utilised data augmentation techniques to increase the dataset size for training models. VGG16, ResNet50, and convolutional deep belief networks networks extracted deep features from MRI images. Softmax was used as the classifier, and the training set was supplemented with intentionally created MRI images of brain tumours in addition to the genuine ones. The features of two DL models were combined in the proposed model to generate a fusion model, which significantly increased classification accuracy. An openly accessible dataset from the internet was used to test the model's performance, and the experimental results showed that the proposed fusion model achieved a classification accuracy of 98.98%. Finally, the results were compared with existing methods, and the proposed model outperformed them significantly.

Cardiovascular diseases, also known as CVDs, currently rank as the primary incidence of mortality. The present approach for identifying illnesses involves the analysis of the Electrocardiogram (ECG), an electronic diagnostic device utilized to capture the rhythm of the heart. Regrettably, the process of seeking out specialists to conduct analysis on a substantial volume of electrocardiogram (ECG) data results in a significant depletion of medical capabilities. Hence, the utilization of deep learning algorithms for the identification of ECG characteristics has progressively gained prominence. Nevertheless, there exist certain limitations associated with these conventional approaches, which necessitate the need for manual characteristic identification, intricate models, and extensive training duration. This study presents a novel and effective approach for categorizing the five different types of heartbeats in the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia database. The proposed method involves the utilization of a 16-layer deep one-dimensional convolutional neural network, which exhibits both robustness and efficiency in its classification performance. Thus, the designed model is consisting of five-groups, first to fourth groups are the main feature extraction and mapping blocks, while the fifth group is fully connected and classification layers. The findings indicate that the model presented in this study has superior performance in terms of accuracy, precision, and F1-score. The proper classification of medical cases has a significant impact on the conservation of medical resources, hence positively influencing clinical practice. Additionally, the model training phase is characterized by its efficiency, since it does not significantly deplete resources. © 2023 ACM.

For a class D of drawings of loopless (multi-)graphs in the plane, a drawing D∈ D is saturated when the addition of any edge to D results in D′∉ D —this is analogous to saturated graphs in a graph class as introduced by Turán (1941) and Erdős, Hajnal, and Moon (1964). We focus on k-planar drawings, that is, graphs drawn in the plane where each edge is crossed at most k times, and the classes D of all k-planar drawings obeying a number of restrictions, such as having no crossing incident edges, no pair of edges crossing more than once, or no edge crossing itself. While saturated k-planar drawings are the focus of several prior works, tight bounds on how sparse these can be are not well understood. We establish a generic framework to determine the minimum number of edges among all n-vertex saturated k-planar drawings in many natural classes. For example, when incident crossings, multicrossings and selfcrossings are all allowed, the sparsest n-vertex saturated k-planar drawings have 2k-(kmod2)(n-1) edges for any k≥ 4, while if all that is forbidden, the sparsest such drawings have 2(k+1)k(k-1)(n-1) edges for any k≥ 6. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Environmental monitoring plays a crucial role in understanding the impact of human activities on our ecosystems. However, the cost and complexity of traditional monitoring systems often hinder widespread deployment, especially in resource-constrained regions. This research paper explores the feasibility and effectiveness of employing Arduino Internet of Things (IoT) modules as a low-cost alternative for environmental research monitoring. The study focuses on designing and implementing an Arduino-based environmental monitoring system capable of gathering real-time data on key environmental parameters, such as temperature, humidity, air quality, and soil moisture. The hardware setup comprises Arduino microcontrollers interfaced with a range of environmental sensors and connectivity modules for data transmission. To assess the system's reliability and accuracy, a series of field experiments were conducted in diverse environmental settings, including urban areas, agricultural zones, and natural habitats. The collected data was compared against measurements from conventional monitoring equipment to validate the Arduino-based system's performance. The research demonstrates that the Arduino IoT modules can effectively monitor and transmit environmental data with a reasonable level of accuracy and stability, making them suitable for various environmental research applications. The low-cost nature of Arduino components and the open-source ecosystem facilitate customization and scalability, enabling researchers and organizations to develop tailored monitoring solutions for specific environmental contexts. Additionally, the paper discusses the challenges and limitations encountered during the deployment of Arduino-based monitoring systems, including power constraints, sensor calibration, and data processing techniques. This study proposes a unique learning technique that involves choosing and organizing important learning items using a recommender system. We also studied our method's efficacy. Using a recommended system to help online learning activities was proven to be effective. Software development methodology is a collection of principles and processes used to build software. Systematic software development is the goal. The research approach utilized for this topic is Lean Development Methodology. We also examine the advantages and disadvantages of e-learning. This research also introduces various new strategies and methodologies that may be employed in the future to improve system-learning. It also presents system that we choose and why we choose it. So, it aims to eliminate waste and increase production. Following the principles can help developers avoid nonproductive chores while still producing high-quality results. The ultimate objective is to develop an efficient and error-free system. Finally, E-learning is a social revolution. It's part of a bigger rethinking of how we teach future employees and students. The eLearning platform enabled the learning data visualization dashboard beautifully. User-centered design lets the dashboard adapt to its users' demands.

Applying large language models (LLMs) to academic API usage shows promise in reducing researchers' efforts to seek academic information. However, current LLM methods for using APIs struggle with the complex API coupling commonly encountered in academic queries. To address this, we introduce SoAy, a solution-based LLM methodology for academic information seeking. SoAy enables LLMs to generate code for invoking APIs, guided by a pre-constructed API calling sequence referred to as a solution. This solution simplifies the model's understanding of complex API relationships, while the generated code enhances reasoning efficiency. LLMs are aligned with this solution-oriented, code-based reasoning method by automatically enumerating valid API coupling sequences and transforming them into queries and executable *** evaluate SoAy, we introduce SoAyBench, an evaluation benchmark accompanied by SoAyEval, built upon a cloned environment of APIs from AMiner. Experimental results demonstrate a 34.58-75.99% performance improvement compared to state-of-the-art LLM API-based baselines.
