80% of the use of clean water by the community becomes wastewater which must be managed first before being discharged into surface water bodies not to cause disturbances to the water body environment, public health, and environmental aesthetics. This study examines the effectiveness of seven reactors for domestic wastewater treatment in reducing levels of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). These reactors are the Moving Bed Biofilter Reactor (MBBR) with kaldness media, only MBBR, filtration pipes, the addition of papaya seed bio coagulant, Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB), pipes filled with soil, and a combination of filtration and Anaerobic Baffled Reactor (ABR). This research was conducted with a descriptive method of literature review. The results showed that the reactors, respectively, reduced BOD levels by 83.3%; 78.9%; 15.75%; 93%; 36.9%; 76%; and 79%. They were able to reduce COD levels by 84.2%; 80.58%; 16.79%; 93%; 67.8%; 58%; and 68%. The addition of papaya seed bio coagulant is the most effective reactor to reduce BOD and COD because it contains tannin compounds that have effective clotting ability.

This study reports for the first time the dual kinetics phenomenon triggered by the in situ generated ketone derivatives in the cathode chamber and reveals the mode of catalytic persulfate activation through electron exchange by the conversion of ketone functional groups to ketone derivatives. The experimental results show that the reaction rate constant in the rapid degradation stage in the cathode chamber (42.62 × 10 -2 min −1 ) is significantly higher than that in the induction stage (2.11 × 10 -2 min −1 ), achieving 98.96 % removal within 25 min. The intermediate validation experiments indicate that the in-situ generation of ketone-containing intermediates in the cathode chamber increases the steady-state concentration of reactive species (from 1.71 × 10 -10 to 1.08 × 10 -9 ML -1 ), which is the main reason for the increased reaction rate. The ketone capture experiments and density functional theory (DFT) calculations show that the intermediates with ketone functional groups exchange electrons with persulfate ions under alkaline conditions and in the presence of an electric field, generating additional sulfate radicals and singlet oxygen. In the cathode chamber, the electrochemical activation of Peroxymonosulfate (PMS) by ketones on intermediate products is expected to become an inherent catalytic technology for the selective oxidation of pollutants occurring in aquatic environments.

Motor vehicle air pollution comes from exhaust gases resulting from combustion. Becak Motorcycles are widely used in Yogyakarta and are usually used motorcycles with a long life. Hydrocarbons (HC) or unburned fuel and carbon monoxide (CO), were air-fuel control. This research was studied to determine the ability of palm shell activated charcoal to reduce CO, HC and noise. The 14 meshes sample diameter placed inside the tube from 24 meshes of stainless steels were prepared. The weight of activated charcoal of 10 grams, 20 grams and 30 grams were tried to reduce the In the exhaust of a 1984 Suzuki motorcycle with plate number AB 4194 CK, an exhaust extension was installed, then palm activated carbon was placed inside and the emission gases were measured.
