This research-to-practice WIP paper describes methods for improving assessment. Assessment is crucial for pro-gram accreditation and continuous improvement in engineering education. Outcome-based learning is a recent student-centred approach that can be used perform assessment. Under this paradigm, clear outcomes related to the knowledge and skills that the students should have after completing the course are identified and assessed. The student attainments are measured against the outcomes using clear and well-defined metrics. In this paper, an outcome-based strategy is proposed and used for assessing courses in control systems. In order to improve assessment reliability, the learning outcomes are broken down into sub-outcomes, which are used as performance indicators. The advantage of the proposed method is twofold, first it provides more accurate and reliable metrics for measuring student attainment, and second, the assessment results are personalized, allowing to evaluate individual students and identify means to help them. This approach also allows to identify common mistakes and misconceptions. Data are collected for several semesters and analyzed. It turns out that the proposed approach allows to obtain more accurate and reliable assessment results. © 2024 IEEE.

A pneumothorax is the accumulation of air in the pleural space between the chest and lungs. Air that is in the lungs during breathing can leak out of the lungs and become trapped between the chest and lungs in the thoracic cavity, causing chest pain, difficulty breathing, and ultimately the complete collapse of the taut lungs. pneumothorax. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment should be started. Neural networks have proven effective in image classification tasks, and many researchers believe that training neural network models can detect radiologist-diagnosed chest abnormalities such as pneumonia and pneumothorax. is proving. Moreover, we utilize various techniques, including Stochastic Weight Averaging (SWA), aggressive data augmentation, and learning rate schedule. We use the chest x-ray dataset provided by the 2019 SIIM-ACR In this study, a ResNet-34 neural network is trained on a data set of chest x-rays containing over 10,675 images to create a model that predicts the presence of pneumothorax from chest *** suggested system receives a Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) of 0.8410 © 2023 IEEE.

This research-to-practice WIP paper describes concept maps for computer organization. A concept map is a tool that can be used to describe the relationship between the topics (or concepts) in a specific field of study. Concept maps are used in a variety of applications to improve curricula and assessment, particularly in K12 and undergraduate STEM education. In this paper we use concept maps for modeling computer organization topics and assess their importance with respect to the depth and breadth levels required for computer science and engineering graduates. The proposed concept maps focus on two aspects: The first one is the idea of the centrality of the topics. Centrality is an important concept in graph theory. Each topic in the concept map is given a level of centrality or a centrality index. The second aspect is the relationship between the topics, particularly between the topics with high level of centrality. The objective of the modeling is to identify the most central topics and come up with a set of more standard learning outcomes for undergraduate level computer organization courses. © 2024 IEEE.

Multiobjective optimization (MOO) plays a critical role in various real-world domains. A major challenge therein is generating K uniform Pareto-optimal solutions to approximate the entire Pareto front. To address this issue, this paper firstly introduces fill distance to evaluate the K design points, which provides a quantitative metric for the representativeness of the design. However, directly specifying the optimal design that minimizes the fill distance is nearly intractable due to the involved nested min − max − min problem structure. To address this, we propose a surrogate "max-packing" design for the fill distance design, which is easier to optimize and leads to a rate-optimal design with a fill distance at most 4× the minimum value. Extensive experiments on synthetic and real-world benchmarks demonstrate that our proposed paradigm efficiently produces high-quality, representative solutions and outperforms baseline MOO methods. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. The introduction of Edge computing has pushed the horizon to the edge of the network and the user's proximity. The openness of data on the edge raised many issues about the security of data. Although edge computing is an extension of the cloud, besides this, its solutions to handle security threats are different from cloud computing because of its architectural dissimilarities. There is a need for a comprehensive mechanism to ensure the choice of secure service. For this purpose, the combination of trust would be a better approach to deal with the service selection tasks in edge computing. In this paper, a trust-aware cloudlet federation model has been proposed which ultimately helps in the safe service selection of an edge node. Before using a service 'A' of any edge node, the trust value of the edge node for service 'A' should be calculated, called Service Trust Value (STV). Then the edge nodes with a higher STV for service 'A' are filtered. Lastly, the model will select the edge node with a satisfactory value of trust for service 'A'. This proposed model will be beneficial in secure service selection. © 2023 IEEE.

The exploitation of finite spectrum resources is being addressed by the new technology known as Cognitive Radio (CR). It has emerged as a potential remedy for the spectrum shortage problem in the following generation of cellular networks by utilizing opportunities in the time, frequency, and spatial domains. Many group-oriented applications that are created for CRAHN deployment have grown significantly in relevance in recent years. Multicasting is a more effective method for enabling applications that rely on group communication. In contrast to traditional wired multicast routing protocols, multicast routing for CRNs must manage a range of challenges, because of the characteristics of CRNs, such as low bandwidth, mobility, and low power. Vehicular ad hoc networks(VANETs)provide intelligent navigation and efficient route management,resulting in time savings and cost reductions in the transportation ***,the exchange of beacons and messages over public channels among vehicles and roadside units renders these networks vulnerable to numerous attacks and privacy *** address these challenges,several privacy and security preservation protocols based on blockchain and public key cryptography have been proposed ***,most of these schemes are limited by a long execution time and massive communication costs,which make them inefficient for on-board units(OBUs).Additionally,some of them are still susceptible to many *** such,this study presents a novel protocol based on the fusion of elliptic curve cryptography(ECC)and bilinear pairing(BP)*** formal security analysis is accomplished using the Burrows–Abadi–Needham(BAN)logic,demonstrating that our scheme is verifiably *** proposed scheme’s informal security assessment also shows that it provides salient security features,such as non-repudiation,anonymity,and ***,the scheme is shown to be resilient against attacks,such as packet replays,forgeries,message falsifications,and *** the performance perspective,this protocol yields a 37.88%reduction in communication overheads and a 44.44%improvement in the supported security ***,the proposed scheme can be deployed in VANETs to provide robust security at low overheads.

Optimization in ad hoc networks is a highly specialized task because the structure of the network is loosely formed, and each node is independently responsible for its operation. In order to obtain a better result from this solely formed networks this report offer extensive Dynamic Topology Management (DTM) method. Dynamic routing protocols lager lines, dividend balancing, Life-saving administration, guarantee of reliability, cross-layer design, security aspects and the on-time monitoring and discovery of topology changes are the main objectives and steps to be accomplished. Real-time Location monitoring and forest structure discovery are made possible by employing adaptive routing protocols, namely Dynamic Source Routing(DSR) and Ad-Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector(AODV). Also, the algorithms are capable of making advance adjustments to routing routes and resource allocations drawn from the mobility patterns forecasting which is vital. Load balancing methods, which distribute traffic in a network evenly, enable the system to run efficiently and avoid problems caused by overloading. Algorithms that are energy-efficient and make the best use of energy resources having their topology's optimized are introduced to the streamlined energy distribution systems. These algorithms are focused on the node's energy level. Through fault tolerance techniques which recognize and handle failures in nodes and partitioned networks, connectedness activity is a continuous one. Through QoS perception, the network topology might automatically be tailored to conform to the given quality criteria, thus not restricting the choice for differing applications. The proposed could have defenses against adversary nodes and their potential DDoS attacks which will enhance network protection. Yet another advantage of an architectural style that promotes cross-layer collaboration is enhanced topology management which is the goal around which the functions of various levels of the protocol stack revolve

Gliomas are aggressive brain tumors known for their heterogeneity,unclear borders,and diverse locations on Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)*** factors present significant challenges for MRI-based segmentation,a crucial step for effective treatment planning and monitoring of glioma *** study proposes a novel deep learning framework,ResNet Multi-Head Attention U-Net(ResMHA-Net),to address these challenges and enhance glioma segmentation ***-Net leverages the strengths of both residual blocks from the ResNet architecture and multi-head attention *** powerful combination empowers the network to prioritize informative regions within the 3D MRI data and capture long-range *** doing so,ResMHANet effectively segments intricate glioma sub-regions and reduces the impact of uncertain tumor *** rigorously trained and validated ResMHA-Net on the BraTS 2018,2019,2020 and 2021 ***,ResMHA-Net achieved superior segmentation accuracy on the BraTS 2021 dataset compared to the previous years,demonstrating its remarkable adaptability and robustness across diverse ***,we collected the predicted masks obtained from three datasets to enhance survival prediction,effectively augmenting the dataset *** features were then extracted from these predicted masks and,along with clinical data,were used to train a novel ensemble learning-based machine learning model for survival *** model employs a voting mechanism aggregating predictions from multiple models,leading to significant improvements over existing *** ensemble approach capitalizes on the strengths of various models,resulting in more accurate and reliable predictions for patient ***,we achieved an impressive accuracy of 73%for overall survival(OS)prediction.
