Convolutional neural network (CNN)-based dehazing methods have achieved great success in single image dehazing. However, the absence of real-world haze image datasets hinders the deep development of single image dehazing. To address this issue, we propose a diverse hazy image synthesis method based on generative adversarial network (GAN) and matting. Specially, we train a GAN-based model that can transform a gray image into a hazy image. To boost the diversity of hazy images, we propose to simulate hazy images via image matting, which can fuse a real haze image with another image containing diverse objects. To evaluate the performance of dehazing methods, we propose two novel metrics: part-based peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and structure similarity index measure (SSIM). Extensive experiments are conducted to show the effectiveness of the proposed model, dataset, and criteria. © 2020 IEEE.

It is generally known that compared to unimodal systems, the multi-modal biometric systems can improve recognition accuracy by utilizing the complementary features of multiple biometric. Nevertheless, the modalities used may not always play equally important roles in multi-modal recognition. Especially, in practical application scenarios, it often occurs that some of the biometric samples are contaminated by noise and corruption. In this context, the multi-modal recognition systems should pay more attention to the high-quality modality than the ones with low-quality samples, so as to maintain high accuracy. In this paper, we proposes a multi-branch deep learning network for multi-modal recognition, each branch using one biometric sample as input. To highlight the more important biometric modalities, we propose to embed a branch attention module between branches before multi-modal feature fusion. The branch attention module includes fuse, select, and calibrate steps, which can dynamically calculate the weight of each branch based on its importance. The proposed multi-modal recognition model is tested on a chimeric bimodal dataset with the face and the ear modalities. Our proposed method still achieves 92.76% of rank-1 on the most contaminated dataset;the rest of the experimental results are shown in the Experiment and Performance Analysis section. Our experimental results clearly demonstrate that the proposed branch attention method can improve the multi-modal recognition performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Agriculture, energy, mining, healthcare, and transportation are a few of the top industries transformed by the industrial internet of things (IIoT). Industry 4.0 mainly relies on machine learning (ML) to use the vast interconnectedness and large amounts of IIoT data that IIoT primarily drives. ML approaches are trained on confidential data generated by the IIoT environment often exposes privacy to adversarial assaults. Blockchain-based ML is established in the proposed secured IIoT research work to safeguard and enhance privacy. This research proposes a Gaussian differential privacy-integrated machine learning model (GDPIMLM), created for a scalable and controlled IIoT system, fully connected (FC) layer, implemented blockchain benefits to create a privacy-preserving mechanism while considering other limitations and reasonable time. A probability test using two altered Gaussian distributions (GD) forms the basis for defining Gaussian differential privacy (GDP). Due to a central restriction theorem for differential privacy, GDP is the primary privacy term within the family of Federal differential privacy (f-DP) policies. Ethereum is used to implement experimental evaluations. Data collections show that the recommended method enhances digital data privacy with industry-leading security without reducing performance. The performance analysis of the proposed model of secured industrial internet of things (IIoT) is studied using the accuracy of comparison with existing methods and for diverse distributed entities (DE). The proposed secured IIoT attains a minimal time consumption (TC) of 790 Sec—the highest accuracy of 92%, outperforming the existing method. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Education quality has undoubtedly become an important local and international benchmark for education,and an institute’s ranking is assessed based on the quality of education,research projects,theses,and dissertations,which has always been ***,this research paper is influenced by the institutes ranking all over the *** data of institutes are obtained through Google Scholar(GS),as input to investigate the United Kingdom’s Research Excellence Framework(UK-REF)*** this purpose,the current research used a Bespoke Program to evaluate the institutes’ranking based on their *** bespoke program requires changes to improve the results by addressing these methodological issues:Firstly,Redundant profiles,which increased their citation and rank to produce false ***,the exclusion of theses and dissertation documents to retrieve the actual publications to count for ***,the elimination of falsely owned articles from scholars’*** accomplish this task,the experimental design referred to collecting data from 120 UK-REF institutes and GS for the present year to enhance its correlation analysis in this new *** data extracted from GS is processed into structured data,and afterward,it is utilized to generate statistical computations of citations’analysis that contribute to the ranking based on their *** research promoted the predictive approach of correlational ***,experimental evaluation reported encouraging results in comparison to the previous modi-fication made by the proposed *** paper discussed the limitations of the current evaluation and suggested the potential paths to improve the research impact algorithm.

The cloud network is rapidly growing due to a massive increase in interconnected devices and the emergence of different technologies such as the Internet of things, fog computing, and artificial intelligence. In response, cloud computing needs reliable dealings among the service providers, brokers, and consumers. The existing cloud monitoring frameworks such as Amazon Cloud Watch, Paraleap Azure Watch, and Rack Space Cloud Kick work under the control of service providers. They work fine;however, this may create dissatisfaction among customers over Service Level Agreement (SLA) violations. Customers’ dissatisfaction may drastically reduce the businesses of service providers. To cope with the earlier mentioned issue and get in line with cloud philosophy, Monitoring as a Service (MaaS), completely independent in nature, is needed for observing and regulating the cloud businesses. However, the existing MaaS frameworks do not address the comprehensive SLA for customer satisfaction and penalties management. This article proposes a reliable framework for monitoring the provider’s services by adopting third-party monitoring services with clearcut SLA and penalties management. Since this framework monitors SLA as a cloud monitoring service, it is named as SLA-MaaS. On violations, it penalizes those who are found in breach of terms and condition enlisted in SLA. Simulation results confirmed that the proposed framework adequately satisfies the customers (as well as service providers). This helps in developing a trustworthy relationship among cloud partners and increases customer attention and retention. © Mary Ann Liebert, Inc.

Agile development aims at rapidly developing software while embracing the continuous evolution of user requirements along the whole development *** stories are the primary means of requirements collection and elicitation in the agile development.A project can involve a large amount of user stories,which should be clustered into different groups based on their functionality’s similarity for systematic requirements analysis,effective mapping to developed features,and efficient ***,the current user story clustering is mainly conducted in a manual manner,which is time-consuming and subjective to human *** this paper,we propose a novel approach for clustering the user stories automatically on the basis of natural language ***,the sentence patterns of each component in a user story are first analysed and determined such that the critical structure in the representative tasks can be automatically extracted based on the user story *** similarity of user stories is calculated,which can be used to generate the connected graph as the basis of automatic user story *** evaluate the approach based on thirteen datasets,compared against ten baseline *** results show that our clustering approach has higher accuracy,recall rate and F1-score than these *** is demonstrated that the proposed approach can significantly improve the efficacy of user story clustering and thus enhance the overall performance of agile *** study also highlights promising research directions for more accurate requirements elicitation.

Human object interaction(HOI)recognition plays an important role in the designing of surveillance and monitoring systems for healthcare,sports,education,and public *** involves localizing the human and object targets and then identifying the interactions between ***,it is a challenging task that highly depends on the extraction of robust and distinctive features from the targets and the use of fast and efficient ***,the proposed system offers an automated body-parts-based solution for HOI *** system uses RGB(red,green,blue)images as input and segments the desired parts of the images through a segmentation technique based on the watershed ***,a convex hullbased approach for extracting key body parts has also been *** identifying the key body parts,two types of features are ***,the entire feature vector is reduced using a dimensionality reduction technique called t-SNE(t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding).Finally,a multinomial logistic regression classifier is utilized for identifying class labels.A large publicly available dataset,MPII(Max Planck Institute Informatics)Human Pose,has been used for system *** results prove the validity of the proposed system as it achieved 87.5%class recognition accuracy.

Virtual reality is an emerging field in the whole *** problem faced by people today is that they are more indulged in indoor technology rather than outdoor ***,the proposed system introduces a fitness solution connecting virtual reality with a gaming interface so that an individual can play first-person *** system proposed in this paper is an efficient and cost-effective solution that can entertain people along with playing outdoor games such as badminton and cricket while sitting in the *** track the human movement,sensors Micro Processor Unit(MPU6050)are used that are connected with Bluetoothmodules andArduino responsible for sending the sensor data to the ***,the sensor data is sent to a machine learning model,which detects the game played by the *** detected game will be operated on human gestures.A publicly available dataset named IM-Sporting Behaviors is initially used,which utilizes triaxial accelerometers attached to the subject’s wrist,knee,and below neck regions to capture important aspects of human *** main objective is that the person is enjoying while playing the game and simultaneously is engaged in some kind of sporting *** proposed system uses artificial neural networks classifier giving an accuracy of 88.9%.The proposed system should apply to many systems such as construction,education,offices and the educational *** experimentation proved the validity of the proposed system.

Agriculture is under tremendous pressure to produce more productivity with fewer resources as a result of the expanding global population. Decision-making along the entire supply chain needs to be improved considering competing economic, environmental, and societal demands. Data from satellites, drones, sensors, and other sources must be processed in order to make informed judgments. However, sophisticated machine learning and data analytics methods must be used due to the complexity and volume of the data. This initiative covers crucial duties in yield prediction and precision agriculture. Management zones are areas of a field that have high inter-regional variability and low intra-regional variability, dividing the field into uniform zones for which agronomic practices should be modified independently. For fertilizer optimization and post-harvest logistics, yield prediction is crucial. In order to make up for the nutrients that have been taken out of the soil, fertilizer type and quantity must be adjusted accordingly. The yield data is also essential for enhancing harvesting, shipping, storage, and sales. So, utilizing web scraping and convolution neural networks, the proposed model has been forecast yields from input satellite photos. The result of investigations is illustrated that the artificial neural network algorithm is used to predicting the agricultural data rules and powerfully decrease the error rate from crop yield data. © 2023 IEEE.
