Due to unforeseen climate change,complicated chronic diseases,and mutation of viruses’hospital administration’s top challenge is to know about the Length of stay(LOS)of different diseased patients in the *** management does not exactly know when the existing patient leaves the hospital;this information could be crucial for hospital *** could allow them to take more patients for *** a result,hospitals face many problems managing available resources and new patients in getting entries for their prompt ***,a robust model needs to be designed to help hospital administration predict patients’LOS to resolve these *** this purpose,a very large-sized data(more than 2.3 million patients’data)related to New-York Hospitals patients and containing information about a wide range of diseases including Bone-Marrow,Tuberculosis,Intestinal Transplant,Mental illness,Leukaemia,Spinal cord injury,Trauma,Rehabilitation,Kidney and Alcoholic Patients,HIV Patients,Malignant Breast disorder,Asthma,Respiratory distress syndrome,*** been analyzed to predict the *** selected six Machine learning(ML)models named:Multiple linear regression(MLR),Lasso regression(LR),Ridge regression(RR),Decision tree regression(DTR),Extreme gradient boosting regression(XGBR),and Random Forest regression(RFR).The selected models’predictive performance was checked using R square andMean square error(MSE)as the performance evaluation *** results revealed the superior predictive performance of the RFRmodel,both in terms of RS score(92%)and MSE score(5),among all selected *** Exploratory data analysis(EDA),we conclude that maximumstay was between 0 to 5 days with the meantime of each patient 5.3 days and more than 50 years old patients spent more days in the *** on the average LOS,results revealed that the patients with diagnoses related to birth complications spent more days in the hospital than other *** finding coul

A Blockchain network contains a distributed ledger that is used to store a secure and permanent record of transactions among multiple parties. As the registries of land records are historically stored in the form of paper documentation where, there might arise the issue of losing, destroying, and modifying needed documents. This land registration process is complicated and time-consuming and required a lot of effort to transfer ownership of the land registry or change any information. For this purpose, various contributions have been made by different researchers to overcome the problem of the classical land registration process by using blockchain technology. In this survey, we shed light on some advantages (reduce time and effort, security, permanency, etc.) of blockchain to identify some early problems in the paper-based land registration process.

Intelligent Internet of Things (IIoT), a network paradigm, is an interconnection of intelligent edge devices, empowered by machine learning models. The recent emergence of large language models (LLMs) opens a new path towards IIoT. Although device models are generally lightweight and suitable for edge devices with limited processing power, their performance is less impressive compared to LLMs running on large servers. Server models offer superior performance with the cost of significant computational resources for model inference. To realize cost-effective IIoT, we introduce a novel collaborative inference framework: the online speculative inference enabled by device collaboration and time divisions. We aim to find the minimum number of servers required for the immediate processing of arrived inference requests. To solve the problem, we propose an evolving directed acyclic graph along with a Proof-of-Deletion mechanism for cost reduction and privacy protection. Based on computer simulations using heterogeneous LLMs, it is found that time-division online speculative inference is a promising approach towards cost-effective IIoT.

Recent advances in DeepFake face-swapping technology have made it simple to create fake videos that appear remarkably real. Since it has been employed in numerous instances for deceit, extortion, and the falsification of facts, its widespread use has generated a huge social, security, and political risk. Its use on websites and social media has become more widespread. Detecting this crime is becoming more and more important due to the potential harm false videos may inflict on a global scale. This research offers a method for building a deep learning model that really can tell the difference between authentic and false videos. The article describes how to create new models based on the VGG16 neural network, a previously created neural network that does image categorization, using transfer learning in the computer vision field. Deep learning is still becoming better at both producing and spotting DeepFakes. DeepFake detection algorithms are developed using dated public datasets, and as a result, they may become obsolete with time. and require continual updating. The research findings are encouraging, and our results reached an accuracy rate of over 90%. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid and continuous development of data-driven technologies such as supervised learning, high-quality labeled data sets are commonly required by many applications. Due to the easiness of crowdsourcing small tasks with low cost, a straightforward solution for label quality improvement is to collect multiple labels from a crowd, and then aggregate the answers. The aggregation strategies include majority voting and its many variants, EM-based approaches, Graph Neural Nets and so on. However, due to the uncertainty information loss and commonly existing task correlations, the aggregated labels usually contain errors and may damnify the downstream model *** address the above problem, we propose a hierarchical crowdsourcing framework1 for data labeling with noisy answers about correlated data. We make use of the heterogeneity of the labeling crowd and form an initialization-checking-update loop to improve the quality of labeled data. We formalize and successfully solve the core optimization problem, namely, selecting a proper set of checking tasks for each round. We prove that maximizing the expected quality improvement is equivalent to minimizing the conditional entropy of the observations given the crowdsourced answer families for the selected task set, which is NP-hard to solve. Therefore, we design an efficient approximation algorithm and conduct a series of experiments on real data. The experimental results show that the proposed method effectively improves the quality of the labeled data sets as well as the SOTA performance, yet without extra human labor costs. © 2023 IEEE.

Android developers have already adopted Kotlin as their preferred language. Kotlin is more well-accepted than Java because of its simplicity, readability, and new features like scope functions, extension functions, null safety, etc. Google has introduced several new libraries such as RoomDb, Jetpack-Compose, as well as dependency injection frameworks like Dagger-Hilt to enhance Android Development. The question is how secure these libraries are? Are there tools available to analyze new Libraries? DroidPatrol [1] is our existing static analysis plugin that works on Android Apps written in Java. To support Kotlin code analysis we were continuously working on upgrading our plugin. Finally, we released DroidPatrol 2.0 [2] which is compatible to perform static analysis of Android apps developed in Kotlin. It also works on Java-based Android app developed in Java. In this latest edition, we restructured the architecture of the plugin to optimize its efficiency. We also found a vulnerability in RoomDb. The latest version is developed in Kotlin, and we used IntelliJ Idea. Lastly, version 2.0 is independent of Android Studio editions meaning that any version of Android Studio is compatible.

Rapidly increasing data requires a lot of time to execute different tasks by the systems at Cloudlet Federation (CF). The demand of today’s computing is to exploit resource utilization up to maximum. Efficient resource allocation and scheduling of tasks are the significant characteristics of Cloudlet Federation (CF). Different tasks have diverse execution time. Some tasks require greater execution time whereas some need just a couple of seconds for their execution. Scheduling offers a feasible solution for handling these tasks with the help of different scheduling algorithms. To address task scheduling issue, this paper proposes a scheduling technique named Least Busy Time Scheduling (LBTS) for smart scheduling of tasks in Cloudlet Federation (CF). The proposed technique assists the scheduler to assign task to a system considering the parameter of least busy time to reduce waiting time and optimize the overall performance of the system.

With the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT), wearable devices have enabled real-time health monitoring, particularly through physiological signals like electrocardiograms (ECG). The standard 12-lead ECG records the electrical activity of the heart from multiple perspectives, providing valuable insights into cardiac health. However, existing 12-lead ECG analysis methods often treat leads as channel-level arrangements or rely on spatial adjacency to predefine lead connections, limiting their ability to capture the complex spatial and functional relationships between leads fully. To address this limitation, we propose TGLLNet, a task-driven model that automatically learns inter-lead relationships to improve multi-label ECG classification. TGLLNet adaptively learns lead connectivity patterns and relational strengths, enhancing ECG representation and improving model generalizability across tasks. Specifically, TGLLNet employs a Temporal Graph Construction (ETGC) module to convert ECG signals into temporal graphs and uses a Residual Pyramid Graph Convolution (RPG) module for multi-level graph embeddings, utilizing a Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) with independently learnable adjacency matrices. Combined with a Temporal Context Convolution (TCC) module, TGLLNet captures spatio-temporal dependencies, significantly improving ECG representation. Experimental results on 7 tasks from PTB-XL and CPSC2018 datasets demonstrate that TGLLNet outperforms existing methods, showing superior generalizability across different tasks.
