Psychological disorders, such as anxiety, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, stress, depression, and schizophrenia, are increasingly prevalent worldwide. Among these conditions, depression is particularly notable as one of the most common and debilitating neuropsychiatric disorders. Individuals with depression may be at a higher risk of developing oronary Artery Disease (CAD). Depression can contribute to poor lifestyle choices, such as unhealthy eating, lack of exercise, and smoking, which are risk factors for CAD. The emotional stress and anxiety associated with depression can strain the heart and exacerbate CAD symptoms. The relationship is not one-sided. CAD itself can be a significant source of emotional distress, leading to symptoms of depression and anxiety in affected individuals. Managing both conditions in tandem can be complicated. Treating CAD may involve medications, lifestyle modifications, and potentially surgical interventions. Meanwhile, depression often requires therapy, counseling, and medication. Coordinating care and addressing both conditions simultaneously is crucial. In our study, we investigated the molecular connections between CAD and Depression using GSE98793 and GSE20681 microarray datasets. After preprocessing, we identified key hub genes, including CCT2, SVIL, REPS2, ASPH, and UBC, in the shared ProteinProtein Interaction network. KEGG pathways linked these DEGs to colorectal and cancer pathways. Our next steps involve exploring microRNAs, TFs, and GO analysis. These findings offer promising leads for potential therapies, uniting CAD and Depression under a common molecular framework, advancing our understanding of these conditions. © 2024 IEEE.

Globalization, industry, and population growth is considered the main reasons for climate change, so when some natural calamity or disaster occurs in any area, it leads to isolating this area from the rest of the region. Wireless ad hoc networks are important in disaster management to reduce losses and costs as they reduce the response, aiding time to save lives. However, they suffer from limited energy, which controls the lifetime of the sensor. Different methods are applied to save energy and increase battery life, such as sleep-awake schedules which assume similar initial energy for all nodes. Domestic partition in a unit disk graph is the production of the maximum possible number of such disjoint dominants. However, it assumes different initial energy levels for all nodes, which is another problem. In this paper, a new broadcast approach based on minimum set data broadcasting is proposed to mini-mize the number of broadcasting messages to increase the battery life during disasters and enhance rescue operations. The proposed minimum rebroadcast algorithm (MSRA) method balances coverage and utilization efficiency by dynamically adjusting node selection based on network conditions. The results show that MSRA significantly reduces power consumption and transmission latency, opening the way to find a new solution for disaster management using wireless ad hoc networks. © 2024 by the authors of this article.

Heart Disease remains a leading cause of mortality worldwide. It alarmingly rises at a quick rate, making early heart disease prediction crucial for effective prevention and timely intervention. Heart disease diagnosis is a difficult process that requires technical skills and accuracy to complete. With improvements in technology, computing has lent its voice to simplify the diagnosis of various health problems. Machine learning uses past or existing history to predict future results. Various machine learning techniques have been developed over the years and used in predicting heart diseases with various levels of performance. Identifying the best-suited machine learning technique to use for prediction purposes can be a challenging task. This research work analyses the performance of seven (7) machine learning techniques, comprising AdaBoost Algorithm, KNN, Logistic Regression, Naïve Bayes Classifier, Random Forest, SVM, and XGBoost. The heart disease dataset was downloaded from the UCI repository and analysed using Python programming language in the Jupyter Notebook environment. A comparative analysis of the seven (7) techniques was performed based on Accuracy, Precision, and Recall. From the results obtained, KNN, Random Forest, and XGBoost showed superior performance over the others with an accuracy of 100%, AdaBoost Algorithm followed with an accuracy of 92.2%, SVM followed with an accuracy of 91.71%, Naïve Bayes Classifier followed with an accuracy of 88.29% while Logistic Regression has the least accuracy of 86.34%. The increasing number of road accidents involving Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs) highlights the urgent need for innovative safety solutions. This study proposes a novel approach that leverages IoT and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) technologies to enhance VRU safety. By deploying IoT sensors on vehicles and infrastructure, the proposed model can accurately track VRU locations and environmental conditions in real-time. A CNN-based model is developed to robustly detect and classify VRUs under various traffic scenarios, with continuous improvement through learning. The integration of IoT and CNN enables real-time communication and timely warnings, facilitating proactive interventions to prevent accidents. Experimental evaluations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system in improving VRU safety. This research offers a promising solution for reducing road accidents and creating safer urban environments. © 2024 IEEE.

This research investigates the attitudes and perceptions of engineering educators in Kerala, India, towards the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) within the framework of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (APJAKTU), Kerala. Despite the growing emphasis on experiential learning, only limited research studies focus on understanding the attitudes and perceptions of engineering faculty members towards PjBL. Against this backdrop, the present study aims to critically examine the readiness of engineering educators in adopting and identifying PjBL strategies for its effective integration into engineering curricula. The paper explores various dimensions of engineering educators' engagement with PjBL, including faculty interest levels, satisfaction of implementation, perceived effectiveness, and career implications. The data were collected from engineering faculty members by distributing a comprehensive questionnaire titled Project-Based Learning in engineering Education in Kerala (PLEEK), uniquely designed by the researchers. The research findings reveal that over 90% of the surveyed faculty members have shown keen interest in implementing PjBL, while the remaining respondents exhibited a neutral stance. This underscores a noteworthy receptivity to PjBL among engineering educators in Kerala. Suggestions from participants indicate that, if implemented correctly, PjBL would be highly effective, although time constraints pose a significant challenge. The results obtained are pivotal as they provide an explicit idea of the current status of the engineering education settings and the discrepancies between traditional theoretical instruction and project-based learning. © 2024 IEEE.

Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is a vital application of the Internet of Things (IoT) that plays a significant role in gathering a patient's healthcare information. This collected data helps special professionals like doctors or physicians analyze patients' health status to cure different diseases. However, collecting such information from an insecure channel can be threatening due to the potential security threats. Therefore, it is crucial to secure this sensitive information. This article proposes a secure and lightweight authentication protocol for WBAN. The devised protocol is scalable, secure, and lightweight compared to various relevant competing protocols. The informal security analysis shows that the designed protocol is lightweight, secure, and efficient in resisting various major attacks. The performance analysis demonstrates our protocol's supremacy over various competing protocols in terms of computation and communication costs, inducing efficiency of 20.3% and 12.3%, respectively. Moreover, the practical performance of the designed protocol from the network point of view is measured using the widely recognized NS3 simulation tool. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

Mobile device protection has emerged as an increasingly important difficulty as more and more customers depend upon wireless networks for everyday conversation and other duties. Wi-Fi networks offer convenience and versatility for users;however, they also come with safety worries. This paper presents an overview of the safety-demanding situations related to Wi -Fi networks, discusses safety issues related to cellular devices, and offers more than a few answers for creating cozy cell surroundings. It focuses on defensive person identification, privacy, statistics, and defending against possible malicious activities. Primarily, the paper explores security solutions, encryption, authentication, community access control, and tool control. Moreover, it appears on the role of service carriers in cell tool protection and shows an aggregate of quality practices and generation to sell secure usage. Finally, the paper recommends persevering with studies to identify new threats and answers to decorate mobile safety similarly. © 2024 IEEE.
