In this paper, we propose a new system that conveys the virtual contact feeling to people. Virtually, we make the real contact feeling that they touch the tip of their finger to the object. As the friction exits between the tip of their finger and the object, we make the friction, and will be able to consummate the virtual contact feeling. Nowadays, only the visual information of the object is conveyed to the user on the screen on Web. By this technique, not only the visual information of the object but also the real contact feeling will be able to be conveyed to the user in the near future. The individual of population in standard self-adaptive evolutionary programming (EP) is composed as a pair of objective variable and strategy parameter. Therefore, EP must evolve both objective variable and strategy parameter. In standard evolutionary programming (CEP), these evolutions are implemented by mutation based on only Gaussian random number. On the other hand, fast evolutionary programming (FEP) uses Cauchy random number as evolution of objective variable and exponential evolutionary programming (EEP) uses exponential random number as evolution of objective variable. However, all of these EP (CEP, FEP and EEP) commonly uses Gaussian random number as evolution of strategy parameter. In this paper, we propose new EEP algorithm (NEP) which uses double exponential random number for both evolution of objective variable and strategy parameter. The experimental results show that this new algorithm (NEP) outperforms the existing CEP and FEP.

In this paper, a hierarchical reinforcement learning algorithm for controlling nonholonomic systems is proposed. When applying reinforcement learning to the nonholonomic systems, acquiring adequate policies is difficult because of an increase of learning steps and a convergence of local optimal policies. The proposed algorithm is inspired by such human learning behavior. Human can learn to control such systems sufficiently even if they initially have little knowledge about the system's dynamics and the way to control. This human capability is suggested to be caused by their exploration strategies for acquiring the adequate policies. The key element of the proposed algorithm is a shaping function defined on a novel position-direction space. The shaping function is autonomously constructed once the goal is reached and constrains the exploration area to optimize the policy. The efficiency of the proposed shaping function was demonstrated by using a nonholonomic control problem of positioning the 2-link planer underactuated manipulator

In this paper, we propose a bidirectional buffer repeater insertion to reduce the RLC tree delay in multi-source multi-sink systems which involve four significant factors in our works. First, inductance effect is taken into account due to the reason that chip sizes with the exponential reduction and high work frequency. Second, bidirectional buffer repeater could improve interconnect delay more than unidirectional buffer insertion. Third, the location of insertion buffer is also considered in our work. Fourth, more than one buffer could be inserted in critical path while buffers have already existed. Finally, we develop a graphical user interface for designers to estimate the delay with bidirectional buffer repeater insertion target multi-source multi-sink systems. Experiment results shown that the reduced delay rate is 50.73% and 64.47% in 0.18 and 0.35 micron fabrication process, respectively

Despite of the many advantages of OFDM, it has two main drawbacks which are high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) and synchronization problem. High PAPR causes saturation in power amplifiers, leading to intermodulation products among the sub carriers and disturbing out of band energy. Therefore, it is desirable to reduce the PAPR by means of PAPR reduction schemes. However, it caused the degradation of BER and enhanced the growth of out of band radiation which has led to the degradation of OFDM overall performance. In this paper, OFDM system with an enhanced clipping technique has been proposed, the effects of clipping have been analyzed and the system is evaluated by integrating with its significant features including convolutional forward error control coding, oversampled inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) and digital filtering technique in order to minimize the effects of clipping. It is shown that the bit error rate (BER) of the clipped OFDM signal is improved, the PAPR is further reduced and the effect of out of band radiation is minimized. Besides, other effects of the filtering technique are also analyzed in order to optimize the overall performance of our proposed system.

As a sensor for environment recognition, we thought the sensor must have not only outputting distance data but also another helpful function for mobile robots. So it was considered that what kind of advanced functions should be provided to SOKUIKI sensor. As a result two most important purposes were acquired. 1. Boolean expressions are widely used to model decisions or conditions of a specification or source program. The MUMCUT, which is designed to detect seven common faults where Boolean expressions under test are assumed to be in Irredundant Disjunctive Normal Form (IDNF), is an efficient fault-based test case selection strategy in terms of the fault-detection capacity and the size of selected test suite. Following up our previous work that reported the fault-detection capacity of the MUMCUT when it is applied to general form Boolean expressions, in this paper we present the characteristic of the types of single faults committed in general Boolean expressions that a MUMCUT test suite fails to detect, analyze the certainty why a MUMCUT test suite fails to detect these types of undetected faults, and provide some extensions to enhance the detection capacity of the MUMCUT for these types of undetected faults.
