AS Encryption / Decryption algorithm depends on the use of linear feedback shift registers (LFSR) in order to generate the key-stream bits. The A5-1 algorithm uses three different LFSRs with a majority function to add non-linearity, while A5-2 uses four LFSRs. In this paper a new multi-configurable LFSR design variant of the A5 algorithm is proposed, in which the inverse taps of the LFSR are used to generate the output key-stream bits. The new LFSR design, called a Complex LFSR, techniques can be effectively applied in software or hardware to a communications stream to provide a low cost and high speed encryption capability.

The swinging up control for a remotely driven Acrobot (RDA) is studied and an energy based controller is designed via the Lyapunov stability theory. The analysis of convergence of the energy as well as the motion of the RDA under the controller is presented. The conditions on control parameters for achieving a successful swinging up control are given. Furthermore, simulation and experimental results are provided to validate the presented theoretical results.

Most edge detection algorithms include three main stages: smoothing, differentiation, and labeling. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of algorithms in which competitive learning is applied first to enhance edges, followed by an edge detector to locate the edges. In this way, more detailed and relatively more unbroken edges can be found as compared to the results when an edge detector is applied alone. The algorithms compared are K-Means, SOM and SOGR for clustering, and Canny and GED for edge detection. Perceptionally, best results were obtained with the GED-SOGR algorithm. The SOGR is also considerably simpler and faster than the SOM algorithm.

The main goal of mobile IPv6 is that a mobile node is always addressable by its home address, whether it is currently attached to its home link or is away from home. Mobile IPv6 enables applications running on an Internet node to survive physical reconnection by inserting a few additional features at the network layer. In this paper, focus is given to a micro-mobility based test-bed development with improved algorithm. The test-bed consists of both hardware and software, including four PCs and one laptop. The laptop is used as mobile host (MH), two PCs act as access points, one PC becomes the home agent (HA) and one PC is used as a multicast router (ML). This test-bed is used to verify the theoretical enhancement of the micro-mobility handover algorithm via the results (packet loss, handover delay and quality of service). There is no signaling traffic overload between the MH, HA and correspondent host (CH), the handover delay is low, approximately below 10 ms, and the video stream has good reception.

We have studied pulse laser ablation of ground glass surface by focusing a laser pulse through glass plate from rear side. Ablation process has been observed by high speed framing camera. Burst of small fragments of glass has been observed in the present experiment, when ground glass surface is laser ablated. By using ns-duration Nd:YAG laser of around 100 mJ per pulse, observed peak velocity of particle cloud ranges 0.5 km s-1 to 1.5 km s -1. In order to know the particle generation process, SEM observation of the ground surface in the region of no laser irradiation and also in the damaged region, has been made. It is revealed that virgin glass surface is covered with plenty of micro cracks, while cleavage surface structure has been evidenced in the damaged surface area. We applied the phenomena to ignite PETN powder explosive, and succeeded in igniting PETN powder only by laser ablation of ground glass.
