In high-risk industrial environments like nuclear power plants, precise defect identification and localization are essential for maintaining production stability and safety. However, the complexity of such a harsh environment leads to significant variations in the shape and size of the defects. To address this challenge, we propose the multivariate time series segmentation network(MSSN), which adopts a multiscale convolutional network with multi-stage and depth-separable convolutions for efficient feature extraction through variable-length templates. To tackle the classification difficulty caused by structural signal variance, MSSN employs logarithmic normalization to adjust instance distributions. Furthermore, it integrates classification with smoothing loss functions to accurately identify defect segments amid similar structural and defect signal subsequences. Our algorithm evaluated on both the Mackey-Glass dataset and industrial dataset achieves over 95% localization and demonstrates the capture capability on the synthetic dataset. In a nuclear plant's heat transfer tube dataset, it captures 90% of defect instances with75% middle localization F1 score.

Fog computing brings computational services near the network edge to meet the latency constraints of cyber-physical System(CPS)*** devices enable limited computational capacity and energy availability that hamper end user *** designed a novel performance measurement index to gauge a device’s resource *** examination addresses the offloading mechanism issues,where the end user(EU)offloads a part of its workload to a nearby edge server(ES).Sometimes,the ES further offloads the workload to another ES or cloud server to achieve reliable performance because of limited resources(such as storage and computation).The manuscript aims to reduce the service offloading rate by selecting a potential device or server to accomplish a low average latency and service completion time to meet the deadline constraints of sub-divided *** this regard,an adaptive online status predictive model design is significant for prognosticating the asset requirement of arrived services to make float ***,the development of a reinforcement learning-based flexible x-scheduling(RFXS)approach resolves the service offloading issues,where x=service/resource for producing the low latency and high performance of the *** approach to the theoretical bound and computational complexity is derived by formulating the system efficiency.A quadratic restraint mechanism is employed to formulate the service optimization issue according to a set ofmeasurements,as well as the behavioural association rate and adulation *** system managed an average 0.89%of the service offloading rate,with 39 ms of delay over complex scenarios(using three servers with a 50%service arrival rate).The simulation outcomes confirm that the proposed scheme attained a low offloading uncertainty,and is suitable for simulating heterogeneous CPS frameworks.

The advent of autonomous vehicles has revolutionized the automotive industry, offering promising advancements in safety, efficiency, and mobility. To integrate these autonomous vehicles into our society seamlessly, it is imperative to establish a robust licensing system that ensures the safe operation of automated vehicles on public roads. This article presents an effective smart Driving Licensing System (SDLS), a digital framework designed to regulate the existing licensing system and authorize licensing for autonomous vehicles. Through a comprehensive assessment process, the system assesses the drivers and the autonomous vehicle’s ability to navigate various road conditions, respond to dynamic environments, and prioritize safety for passengers and other road users. SDLS integrates high-level security through facial and fingerprint verification for identity verification to preserve licensing data. Hacking and unauthorized access to autonomous vehicles is prevented by robust cybersecurity protocols. The key benefits of SDLS include automated data collection, integration of wireless sensor networks (WSN) and Internet of Things (IoT), smart application processing, real-time license checks, cybersecurity measures, automated testing, and digital certification. The proposed system offers a comprehensive approach to safely integrating autonomous vehicles into our transportation ecosystem. The autonomous vehicles are integrated with antennas at rooftops or into bumpers, depending upon the vehicle design which can be connected with the SDLS for signal communication. Furthermore, the SDLS establishes a framework for continuous monitoring and updates, enabling ongoing assessments to keep pace with evolving technology and safety standards. © 2024 by Begell House, Inc.

Development of a diacritic-aware large vocabulary automatic speech recognition for Hausa language

Research on voice recognition for African languages is limited due to the scarcity of digital resources for training and adaptation, despite its broad usefulness. The Hausa language, spoken by almost fifty million inhabitants in West and Central Africa, is an example of a linguistic domain that has not been thoroughly studied. The Hausa language employs diacritics, which are symbols located above alphabetical characters to convey further information. By removing diacritics, the number of homographs increases, making it difficult to distinguish between similar words. This paper presents a study on speech recognition in the Hausa Language, specifically focusing on diacritized words. The study utilises the state-of-the-art wave2vec2.0 and Whisper deep learning architecture models, for transcribing audio signals into corresponding Hausa text. According to the results obtained in the study, the Whisper-large deep model emerged as the best, achieving a word error rate of 4.23% representing a considerable improvement of 43.9% when compared to the existing state-of-the-art model for Hausa language speech recognition. Additionally, the Whsiper-large model demonstrated a diacritic coverage of 92%, precision of 98.87%, with a diacritic error rate of 2.1%. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Unstructured Numerical Image Dataset Separation (UNIDS) method employing an enhanced unsupervised clustering technique. The objective is to delineate an optimal number of distinct groups within the input grayscale (G-S) image content, utilizing the improved limited iteration agglomerative clustering (iLIAC) clustering technique for the separation and enhancement of picture elements. The UNIDS method is structured into two primary stages: partitioning and validation. In the partitioning stage, the UNIDS method identifies an appropriate number of discrete clusters within the grayscale image using the iLIAC technique, eliminating the need for predetermined procedures. Subsequently, the method evaluates the similarity and deviation among data elements within the same group in the resultant image dataset. Additionally, it assesses the proximity and inters severance among clusters in the outcome of the image dataset through the partitioning process. Empirical results indicate that the UNIDS system excels in the spontaneous identification of an optimal number of discrete clusters within the input G-S image. The system demonstrates superior thickness, reduced deviation among data elements within the same cluster, increased inter-separation, and diminished inter-closeness between cluster elements. Furthermore, empirical analysis establishes the superior performance of the UNIDS approach compared to existing clustering techniques. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Semantic segmentation is an important sub-task for many ***,pixel-level ground-truth labeling is costly,and there is a tendency to overfit to training data,thereby limiting the generalization *** domain adaptation can potentially address these problems by allowing systems trained on labelled datasets from the source domain(including less expensive synthetic domain)to be adapted to a novel target *** conventional approach involves automatic extraction and alignment of the representations of source and target domains *** limitation of this approach is that it tends to neglect the differences between classes:representations of certain classes can be more easily extracted and aligned between the source and target domains than others,limiting the adaptation over all ***,we address:this problem by introducing a Class-Conditional Domain Adaptation(CCDA)*** incorporates a class-conditional multi-scale discriminator and class-conditional losses for both segmentation and ***,they measure the segmentation,shift the domain in a classconditional manner,and equalize the loss over *** results demonstrate that the performance of our CCDA method matches,and in some cases,surpasses that of state-of-the-art methods.

A Privacy-Preserving Data Aggregation Protocol for Internet of Vehicles with Federated Learning

Federated learning (FL) is widely used in various fields because it can guarantee the privacy of the original data source. However, in data-sensitive fields such as Internet of Vehicles (IoV), insecure communication channels, semi-trusted RoadSide Unit (RSU), and collusion between vehicles and the RSU may lead to leakage of model parameters. Moreover, when aggregating data, since different vehicles usually have different computing resources, vehicles with relatively insufficient computing resources will affect the data aggregation efficiency. Therefore, in order to solve the privacy leakage problem and improve the data aggregation efficiency, this paper proposes a privacy-preserving data aggregation protocol for IoV with FL. Firstly, the protocol is designed based on methods such as shamir secret sharing scheme, pallier homomorphic encryption scheme and blinding factor protection, which can guarantee the privacy of model parameters. Secondly, the protocol improves the data aggregation efficiency by setting dynamic training time windows. Thirdly, the protocol reduces the frequent participations of Trusted Authority (TA) by optimizing the fault-tolerance mechanism. Finally, the security analysis proves that the proposed protocol is secure, and the performance analysis results also show that the proposed protocol has high computation and communication efficiency. Duplicate image detection using deep learning modified SVM and k-NN classification method for multimedia application

This paper discussed an efficient technique to detect near-duplicate images with higher accuracy. The proposed method improved the existing accuracy of near-duplicate image detection and classification using Haar wavelet feature extraction and classification algorithm. Due to advancements in digital image acquisition and image editing software, near-duplicate image counterfeiting has become predictable. This expanding problem needs the creation of sophisticated detection algorithms capable of effectively preventing the spread of near-duplicate image deception. Support vector machine (SVM) and K-near neighbor (KNN) classifiers are used in the classification stage of a modified deep learning model with a convolutional neural network (CNN). The classification model finds the better result on the Imperial College London dataset, with 99.12% using CNN with KNN classifier and 98.63% for CNN with SVM classifier. The classification model also gives better results on the Nanyang Technological University dataset, with 98.36% using CNN with the KNN classifier and 97.85% for CNN with the SVM classifier. The model is tested using publicly available images to find the results. According to the comparison results, this model performed significantly better result than the previous model. Wireless Sensor Network(WSNs)consists of a group of nodes that analyze the information from surrounding *** sensor nodes are responsible for accumulating and exchanging ***,node local-ization is the process of identifying the target node’s *** this research work,a Received Signal Strength Indicator(RSSI)-based optimal node localization approach is proposed to solve the complexities in the conventional node localization ***,the RSSI value is identified using the Deep Neural Network(DNN).The RSSI is conceded as the range-based method and it does not require special hardware for the node localization process,also it consumes a very minimal amount of cost for localizing the nodes in 3D *** position of the anchor nodes is fixed for detecting the location of the ***,the optimal position of the target node is identified using Hybrid T cell Immune with Lotus Effect Optimization algorithm(HTCI-LEO).During the node localization process,the average localization error is minimized,which is the objective of the optimal node *** the regular and irregular surfaces,this hybrid algorithm effectively performs the localization *** suggested hybrid algorithm converges very fast in the three-dimensional(3D)*** accuracy of the proposed node localization process is 94.25%.
