Traffic classification is a crucial aspect for Software-Defined Networking functionalities. This paper is a part of an on-going project aiming at optimizing power consumption in the environment of software-defined datacenter networks. We have developed a novel routing strategy that can blindly balance between the power consumption and the quality of service for the incoming traffic flows. In this paper, we demonstrate how to classify the network traffic flows so that the quality of service of each flow-class can be guaranteed efficiently. This is achieved by creating a dataset that encompasses different types of network traffic such as video, VoIP, game and ICMP. The performance of a number of Machine Learning techniques is compared and the results are reported. As part of future work, we will incorporate classification into the power consumption model towards achieving further advances in this research area. © 2022 IEEE.

As we know, air pollution is one of the major problems in the metropolis. Due to this a lot of consequences have to be faced by all people. One of the main reasons for this are the vehicles. Most of the time people use their vehicles unnecessarily without any certain reasons. Due to the same reason another problem of traffic congestion arises. And this can be reduced if people become a bit more serious about it. They should prefer using public transport rather than personal vehicles for travelling large distances. By this the number of vehicles on the road will be turned down and it might solve the above two problems directly. So, the main approach is based on this theory itself to reduce the number of transports on the road. The solution is an application which runs on phone and keep track of the fuel used by the vehicle. A certain fuel limit shall be set based on vehicle type, its fuel consumption and other constraints. Once the limit got exceeded, fuel price shall differ and automated calculation would get you actual fuel amount. This aims at reducing the unnecessary usage of vehicles. There is a CO2 emission model in an application which can predict the amount of CO2 produced by the vehicle. The objective of the proposed work is to control the usage of vehicles based on the fuel used by a particular vehicle for a period of time. As the module has been tested with ML model for mileage prediction and CO2 emission with different algorithms and got the best accuracy of around 85%. There will be no hardware in this work, if any hardware implemented all over India then that prototype model will produce good impact in the vehicle fuel usage prediction and CO2 emissions. Hardware based projects using IOT devices, VTRS etc. is something which is very hard to implement in India as CCTV are still not installed and used properly. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In general, the innovative foods produced on fruit and vegetable based farms are always high quality and healthy. Indicators of fruit and vegetable consumption include plasma vitamin C and arytenoids, which are plant pigments discovered in blood samples. The researchers decided to utilize blood samples rather than the more common food frequency questionnaire in their investigation. to assess the amount of food consumed in order to forestall measuring errors and to establish dependencies. Because vitamin C and arytenoids may be found in a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, we can use them as objective measures of our consumption of these food groups. The fact that individuals who do not consume a diet that is abundant in fruits and vegetables do not consume significant quantities of vitamin C and arytenoids is reflected in the plasma levels of these individuals. In this paper a smart machine learning algorithm was proposed to predict the micro plasma impacts. This monitors the regular shape and harvesting of different farm fresh products and predicts the impacts of it. This will helpful for farmers to enhance the harvesting. © 2023 IEEE.

Blockchain technology has become a trusted method for establishing secure and transparent transactions through a distributed, encrypted network. The operation of blockchain is governed by consensus algorithms, among which Proof of Stake (PoS) is popular yet has its drawbacks, notably the potential for centralising power in nodes with larger stakes or higher rewards. Our proposed novel solution, Fuzzychain, leverages fuzzy sets to define stake semantics, introducing a degree of softness in validator selection. This approach mitigates rigid threshold-based decision-making by allowing gradual transitions between stake levels, reducing sharp disparities among validators. By incorporating this enhanced stake evaluation, Fuzzychain promotes a more adaptive and distributed selection process, ensuring a fairer and more inclusive blockchain network. A thorough assessment of a real-time multi-agent blockchain system to examine validator selection and reduce inequality, promoting a more equitable distribution of stakes among validators compared to other consensus mechanisms. This fosters a more inclusive selection process and a more equitably distributed network. © 2025 The Authors

Medical expenses are increasing day by day due to unexpected epidemic diseases. People have awareness about the medical insurance and claiming processes which is helping in critical situations. Predicting the medical insurance cost is very important work in health care sectors. Many researcheis applied different machine learning algoiithms to predict the insurance premium in Kaggle data set with seven attributes such as age, sex, bmi, children, smoker, region and charges. But these features only not suitable for prediction. In this paper, the dataset with 24 features including all relevant attributes needed for prediction of insurance cost was used. The implementation done using regression algorithms such as Linear Regression, Decision Tree Regression, Lasso Regression, Ridge Regression, Random Forest Regression, ElasticNet Regression, Support Vector Regression, K Nearest Neighbor Regression and Neural Network Regression in R Programming. There were seven metiices applied to measure the performance of the model namely Mean Squared Error (MSE), Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), RSquared (R 2 ), Adjusted R-Squared (Adj. $\mathrm{R}^{2}$), and Explained Variance Score (EVS). Random Forest Regression outperformed with 0.9533 as RS quared value. This prediction system will reduce the manual work and give the prediction accurately in medical field.

High reliance on autonomous systems necessitates efficient and reliable data exchange through Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication to have appropriate and stable network performance in dynamic vehicular environments. With heuristic approaches, Dijkstra's algorithm, and Deep Q-Networks (DQN), several methods are proposed for optimizing latency reduction, packet delivery rate improvement, and power efficiency in the direction of V2I communications. However, these approaches suffer from important challenges: low adaptability of the network to real-time dynamics, suboptimal resource usage, and difficulties in scalability towards complex large-scale networks. In this scenario, we propose a framework that incorporates a GNN inside autonomous systems for V2I communication to optimize performance. The GNN will process real-time graph features, including signal strength, packet loss, and mobility speed, as it dynamically changes in adaptation to the evolution of network behaviour and other functions. This work shows the superiority of the proposed GNN model for the efficiency of experimentally conducted simulations compared to the current models; it achieved latency reduced by up to 28%, 5-10% PDR, and 20% energy efficiency across the various scenarios with urban, rural, highway, and suburban networks. The results validate robustness and scalability for practical implementations by the proposed approach in real-world autonomous systems. Further development is possible with this framework: for example, the use of multi-agent reinforcement learning techniques within cooperative decision-making and the enhancement through blockchain-based security mechanisms to ensure the integrity of the data.

Smiles2Dock: an open large-scale multi-task dataset for ML-based molecular docking

Docking is a crucial component in drug discovery aimed at predicting the binding conformation and affinity between small molecules and target proteins. ML-based docking has recently emerged as a prominent approach, outpacing traditional methods like DOCK and AutoDock Vina in handling the growing scale and complexity of molecular libraries. However, the availability of comprehensive and user-friendly datasets for training and benchmarking ML-based docking algorithms remains limited. We introduce Smiles2Dock, an open large-scale multi-task dataset for molecular docking. We created a framework combining P2Rank and AutoDock Vina to dock 1.7 million ligands from the ChEMBL database against 15 AlphaFold proteins, giving us more than 25 million protein-ligand binding scores. The dataset leverages a wide range of high-accuracy AlphaFold protein models, encompasses a diverse set of biologically relevant compounds and enables researchers to benchmark all major approaches for ML-based docking such as Graph, Transformer and CNN-based methods. We also introduce a novel Transformer-based architecture for docking scores prediction and set it as an initial benchmark for our dataset. Automatic recognition of facial expressions is a common problem in human-computer interaction. While humans can recognize facial expressions very easily, machines cannot do it as easily as humans. Analyzing facial changes during facial expressions is one of the methods used for this purpose by the machines. In this research, facial deformation caused by facial expressions is considered for automatic facial expression recognition by machines. To achieve this goal, the motion vectors of facial deformations are captured during facial expression using an optical flow algorithm. These motion vectors are then used to analyze facial expressions using some data mining algorithms. This analysis not only determined how changes in the face occur during facial expressions but can also be used for facial expression recognition. The facial expressions investigated in this research are happiness, sadness, surprise, fear, anger, and disgust. According to our research, these facial expressions were classified into 12 classes of facial motion vectors. We applied our proposed analysis mechanism to the extended Cohen-Kanade facial expression dataset. Our developed automatic facial expression system achieved 95.3%, 92.8%, and 90.2% accuracy using Deep Learning (DL), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and C5.0 classifiers, respectively. In addition, based on this research, it was determined which parts of the face have a greater impact on facial expression recognition. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Contextual Online Decision Making with Infinite-Dimensional Functional Regression

Contextual sequential decision-making problems play a crucial role in machine learning, encompassing a wide range of downstream applications such as bandits, sequential hypothesis testing and online risk control. These applications often require different statistical measures, including expectation, variance and quantiles. In this paper, we provide a universal admissible algorithm framework for dealing with all kinds of contextual online decision-making problems that directly learns the whole underlying unknown distribution instead of focusing on individual statistics. This is much more difficult because the dimension of the regression is uncountably infinite, and any existing linear contextual bandits algorithm will result in infinite regret. To overcome this issue, we propose an efficient infinite-dimensional functional regression oracle for contextual cumulative distribution functions (CDFs), where each data point is modeled as a combination of context-dependent CDF basis functions. Our analysis reveals that the decay rate of the eigenvalue sequence of the design integral operator governs the regression error rate and, consequently, the utility regret rate. Specifically, when the eigenvalue sequence exhibits a polynomial decay of order γ1 ≥ 1, the utility regret is bounded by (formula presented) By setting γ = 0, this recovers the existing optimal regret rate for contextual bandits with finite-dimensional regression and is optimal under a stronger exponential decay assumption. Additionally, we provide a numerical method to compute the eigenvalue sequence of the integral operator, enabling the practical implementation of our framework. © 2025, CC BY.

T-Cal: an optimal test for the calibration of predictive models

The prediction accuracy of machine learning methods is steadily increasing, but the calibration of their uncertainty predictions poses a significant challenge. Numerous works focus on obtaining well-calibrated predictive models, but less is known about reliably assessing model calibration. This limits our ability to know when algorithms for improving calibration have a real effect, and when their improvements are merely artifacts due to random noise in finite datasets. In this work, we consider detecting mis-calibration of predictive models using a finite validation dataset as a hypothesis testing problem. The null hypothesis is that the predictive model is calibrated, while the alternative hypothesis is that the deviation from calibration is sufficiently *** find that detecting mis-calibration is only possible when the conditional probabilities of the classes are sufficiently smooth functions of the predictions. When the conditional class probabilities are Hölder continuous, we propose T-Cal, a minimax optimal test for calibration based on a debiased plug-in estimator of the ℓ2-Expected Calibration Error (ECE). We further propose adaptive T-Cal, a version that is adaptive to unknown smoothness. We verify our theoretical findings with a broad range of experiments, including with several popular deep neural net architectures and several standard post-hoc calibration methods. T-Cal is a practical general-purpose tool, which--combined with classical tests for discrete-valued predictors--can be used to test the calibration of virtually any probabilistic classification method.
