Tourism and the hotel business have benefited greatly from the use of digital social networking. Using social big data research, the application of deep learning seems to have been beneficial in a marketing strategies and customer preference estimate. Recognizing human psychology, which is critical to industrial success, has benefited greatly from digital technology and social media. The Internet of Things (IoT) provides a chance for a hotel sector to improve the customer experience although lowering operational expenses. The ratings are determined by the following factors: Value, Apartment, Location, Hygiene, Front Office, Facilities, Professional Service, Internet, and Parking. Traditional techniques which anticipate hotel evaluations through minimal precision add difficulty to the rating assessment. As a result, efficient deep learning algorithms are employed to evaluate reviews designed to help consumers in selecting better hotels. To predict qualities, multiple classification techniques, including convolutional neural network-based deep learning (CNN-DL) and support vector machine (SVM) network-based deep learning, were used in this research. The system examines system efficiency by using the TripAdvisor website, this is a well American database. The research results reveal that the CNN-DL method outperforms another method in terms of classification efficiency and failure *** graphical results could also be utilized to enhance the effectiveness of the suggested model and offer insights into response tactics, demonstrating the study's academic and conceptual achievements. Although it is feasible to conclude from such research that the possibility of IoT within the hotel industry has not yet been fully investigated, as researchers commonly speculate on using IoT for implementations that might quickly be of involvement to a hotel sector, but refuse to recognize that possibility as a massive market. © 2022 The Author(s)

In recent years, machine learning potentials (MLPs) have become indispensable tools in physics, chemistry, and materials science, driving the development of software packages for molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and related applications. These packages, typically built on specific machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX, face integration challenges when advanced applications demand communication across different frameworks. The previous TensorFlow-based implementation of DeePMD-kit exemplified these limitations. In this work, we introduce DeePMD-kit version 3, a significant update featuring a multi-backend framework that supports TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX, and PaddlePaddle backends, and demonstrate the versatility of this architecture through the integration of other MLPs packages and of Differentiable Molecular Force Field. This architecture allows seamless backend switching with minimal modifications, enabling users and developers to integrate DeePMD-kit with other packages using different machine learning frameworks. This innovation facilitates the development of more complex and interoperable workflows, paving the way for broader applications of MLPs in scientific research. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. Accuracy of a one-dimensional reduction of dynamical systems on networks

Resilience is an ability of a system with which the system can adjust its activity to maintain its functionality when it is perturbed. To study resilience of dynamics on networks, Gao et al. [Nature, 530, 307 (2016)] proposed a theoretical framework to reduce dynamical systems on networks, which are high dimensional in general, to one-dimensional dynamical systems. The accuracy of this one-dimensional reduction relies on several assumption in addition to the assumption that the network has a negligible degree correlation. In the present study, we analyze the accuracy of the one-dimensional reduction assuming networks without degree correlation. We do so mainly through examining the validity of the individual assumptions underlying the method. Across five dynamical system models, we find that the accuracy of the one-dimensional reduction hinges on the spread of the equilibrium value of the state variable across the nodes in most cases. Specifically, the one-dimensional reduction tends to be accurate when the dispersion of the node's state is small. We also find that the correlation between the node's state and the node's degree, which is common for various dynamical systems on networks, is unrelated to the accuracy of the one-dimensional reduction. © 2021, CC BY.

Temporal motifs in patent opposition and collaboration networks

Patents are intellectual properties that reflect innovative activities of companies and organizations. The literature is rich with the studies that analyze the citations among the patents and the collaboration relations among companies that own the patents. However, the adversarial relations between the patent owners are not as well investigated. One proxy to model such relations is the patent opposition, which is a legal activity in which a company challenges the validity of a patent. Characterizing the patent oppositions, collaborations, and the interplay between them can help better understand the companies’ business strategies. Temporality matters in this context as the order and frequency of oppositions and collaborations characterize their interplay. In this study, we construct a two-layer temporal network to model the patent oppositions and collaborations among the companies. We utilize temporal motifs to analyze the oppositions and collaborations from structural and temporal perspectives. We first characterize the frequent motifs in patent oppositions and investigate how often the companies of different sizes attack other companies. We show that large companies tend to engage in opposition with multiple companies. Then we analyze the temporal interplay between collaborations and oppositions. We find that two adversarial companies are more likely to collaborate in the future than two collaborating companies oppose each other in the future. © 2021, CC BY.

Machine learning (ML) has become critical for post-acquisition data analysis in (scanning) transmission electron microscopy, (S)TEM, imaging and spectroscopy. An emerging trend is the transition to real-time analysis and closed-loop microscope operation. The effective use of ML in electron microscopy now requires the development of strategies for microscopy-centered experiment workflow design and optimization. Here, we discuss the associated challenges with the transition to active ML, including sequential data analysis and out-of-distribution drift effects, the requirements for the edge operation, local and cloud data storage, and theory in the loop operations. Specifically, we discuss the relative contributions of human scientists and ML agents in the ideation, orchestration, and execution of experimental workflows and the need to develop universal hyper languages that can apply across multiple platforms. Many multiagent dynamics, including various collective dynamics occurring on networks, can be modeled as a stochastic process in which the agents in the system change their state over time in interaction with each other. The Gillespie algorithms are popular algorithms that exactly simulate such stochastic multiagent dynamics when each state change is driven by a discrete event, the dynamics is defined in continuous time, and the stochastic law of event occurrence is governed by independent Poisson processes. In the first main part of this volume, we provide a tutorial on the Gillespie algorithms focusing on simulation of social multiagent dynamics occurring in populations and networks. We do not assume advanced knowledge of mathematics (or computer science or physics). We clarify why one should use the continuous-time models and the Gillespie algorithms in many cases, instead of easier-to-understand discrete-time models. In the remainder of this volume, we review recent extensions of the Gillespie algorithms aiming to add more reality to the model (i.e., non-Poissonian cases) or to speed up the simulations. © 2021, CC BY.

In this work, we introduce the Multiple Embedding Model for EHR (MEME), an approach that serializes multimodal EHR tabular data into text using "pseudo-notes", mimicking clinical text generation. This conversion not only preserves better representations of categorical data and learns contexts but also enables the effective employment of pretrained foundation models for rich feature representation. To address potential issues with context length, our framework encodes embeddings for each EHR modality separately. We demonstrate the effectiveness of MEME by applying it to several decision support tasks within the Emergency department across multiple hospital systems. Our findings indicate that MEME outperforms traditional machine learning, EHR-specific foundation models, and general LLMs, highlighting its potential as a general and extendible EHR representation strategy. © 2024, CC BY.

ABACUS (Atomic-orbital Based Ab-initio Computation at USTC) is an open-source software for first-principles electronic structure calculations and molecular dynamics simulations. It mainly features density functional theory (DFT) and is compatible with both plane-wave basis sets and numerical atomic orbital basis sets. ABACUS serves as a platform that facilitates the integration of various electronic structure methods, such as Kohn-Sham DFT, stochastic DFT, orbital-free DFT, and real-time time-dependent DFT, etc. In addition, with the aid of high-performance computing, ABACUS is designed to perform efficiently and provide massive amounts of first-principles data for generating general-purpose machine learning potentials, such as DPA models. Furthermore, ABACUS serves as an electronic structure platform that interfaces with several AI-assisted algorithms and packages, such as DeePKS-kit, DeePMD, DP-GEN, DeepH, DeePTB, etc. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. Results of an application of a dispersive wave hydro-sediment-morphodynamic model in the western circulation cell of the Ria Formosa lagoon located in the Algarve region of the southern Portugal are presented. This area of interest has a couple of features that complicate the application of the dispersive wave model: (1) the area has a complex irregular geometry with a number of barrier islands that separate the lagoon from the Atlantic Ocean, artificial and naturally occurring tidal inlets, and a number of curling channels inside the lagoon that interconnect the inlets and serve as waterways between the lagoon settlements;(2) the tidal range in the area can reach up to 3.5 m;therefore, the terrain inside the lagoon is characterized by vast salt marshes and tidal flats, and the wetting-drying process is a key component of any hydrodynamic simulation in this area. A model representation of the area has been developed by generating an unstructured finite element mesh of the circulation cell, and collecting data on parameters that characterize the tidal waves in the area, and bottom friction and sediment transport models used in the simulations. The results of the simulations indicate that the dispersive wave model can be applied in coastal areas with nontrivial underlying physical processes, and complex irregular geometries. Moreover, the dispersive term of the model is capable of capturing additional flow characteristics that are otherwise not present in hydrodynamic simulations that involve the nonlinear shallow water equations;and these additional flow features can, in their turn, affect the resulting sediment transport and bed morphodynamic process simulations.
