These days, spectrum insufficiency is the most common issue. If the number of smartphone users who access the radio spectrum grows, the radio spectrum becomes increasingly scarce. Certain types of technology equipment are designed to work only within a specific spectrum range, and there is rivalry in specifications for various other applications. As a result, this paper effectively exploits a licensed user’s unused spectrum to reduce the crowded spectrum and eradicate the Radio spectrum shortage. Licensed primary users (PUs) and secondary users (SUs) would be accepted into a Fusion Centre (FC) based on a spectrum framework with authentication. The approved PUs begin by updating their information to FC1;thenceforth, encryption is performed on the information uploaded to FC1. This information from FC1 is stored in Cloud Storage after encryption using the Blowfish algorithm & De-oxy DNA, a fast encryption algorithm. Following that, FC2, connected to the same cloud environment, downloads the PU data uploaded. The spectrum is then allocated to the authenticated SU linked to FC2 based on signal conditions and priority. This proposed method also avoids any delay in the network and encryption by acquiring a fast encryption algorithm, making the system faster and avoiding the Primary User Emulation (PUE) attack. Later, the time taken for the Tiny Encryption Algorithm (TEA) and the Blowfish/DNA algorithm are compared to validate the run time for different input images. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Mutual character dialogue generation with semi-supervised multitask learners and awareness

Consistent efforts have been ongoing to improve the friendliness and reliability of informal dialogue systems. However, most research focuses solely on mimicking human-like answers. Therefore, the interlocutors’ awareness features of the dialogue system are left unexplored. Meanwhile, cognitive science research reveals that awareness is a crucial indicator of an effective, high-quality informal conversation. This research aims to boost the quality of the conversational generation system by factoring in awareness of the interlocutors in the design and training of the dialogue system model. The Generative Pre-Trained Transformer-2 (GPT-2) model was implemented into the Persona Perception (P²) Bot to achieve the objectives of this study. This was to precisely develop model's understanding, P² Bot was implemented using a transmitter–receiver-based structure. The P² Bot leverages mutual persona awareness to improve the quality of customized dialogue generation. GPT-2 is a 1.5B parameter transformer model that produces state-of-the-art accuracy in a zero-shot setting on seven of the eight evaluated language modeling datasets. The observations of the proposed model on a sizable open-source dataset, PERSONA-CHAT, proved successful, with improvement above the state-of-the-art baselines in both automatic measures and human assessments. The model has achieved 82.2% accuracy on Hits@1 performance metrics in the original data and 68.8% on the revised data. On the human evaluation, the model scored an average of 2.66, pointing out that the responses provided were coherent and informative. A dialogue generation model with character and awareness which can communicate like an informative human expert was introduced. Optimizing therapy and rehabilitation for Parkinson's disease (PD) requires early identification and precise evaluation of the illness's course. However, there is disagreement about the best way to use gait analysis to categorize the severity of motor symptoms and identify early-stage Parkinson's disease. The precision of machine learning (ML) models in identifying early and intermediate stages of Parkinson's disease was assessed in this study. Six ML models are used in this study for the prediction of PD. Different metrics are used to evaluate ML models such as accuracy, precision, recall, f1-score, and AUC score. Then we propose a multi-criteria decision-making methodology (MCDM) to evaluate the ML models and select the best one. Two MCDM methods are used such as CRITIC method to compute the criteria weights and the TOPSIS method to rank the alternatives. These methods are used under the bipolar neutrosophic sets (BNSs) to deal with uncertainty information. The results show the support vector machine is the best ML model for the prediction of PD. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.

Enhanced Modified Contrast Enhancement and Exposure Fusion: a visionary dehazing approach for clarity in hazy imagery

In the field of image processing, haze is a type of atmospheric scattering that reduces contrast and clarity of images, frequently masking small details and far-off objects. It is mostly caused by microscopic airborne particles like smoke, dust, and water droplets that scatter incoming light. The scattered light, producing a hazy image, diminishes the direct light that reaches the camera sensor. Many image processing methods have been presened to solve this problem and lessen the impacts of haze. Usually, these methods work by determining how much haze is there in an image, and then using this information to get the image back to its assumed previous quality. In this work, we present the proposed Modified Contrast Enhancement and Exposure Fusion (MCEEF) technique. The MCEEF dehazing technique falls under the umbrella of enhancement-based dehazing techniques. In this technique, hazy frames or images undergo sharpening through a Smoothing-Sharpening Image Filter (SSIF) designed to accentuate the disparity between the haze and objects in images. Subsequently, Gamma Correction (GC) and Color Preserving Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CP-AHE) enhance the sharpened hazy images by augmenting their contrast. Dehazed images are then obtained by fusing the results of the CP-AHE- and GC-enhanced images. The MCEEF dehazing technique is aided with enhanced hazy images or frames as input for the dehazing process. Moreover, essential enhancement tools precede the MCEEF dehazing technique. These tools include homomorphic processing and Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE), which are instrumental in controlling the dynamic range before the dehazing phase. In the proposed approach, a hazy image or frame is initially subjected to homomorphic processing, followed by the application of CLAHE, and finally, the MCEEF dehazing technique is employed. In contrast to traditional cellular connection, device-to-device (D2D) communication is a direct connection amidst adjacent mobile users that does not pass through the base station (BS) and does not rely on network infrastructure to meet low power requirements and high data rate. Cellular networks and D2D connections were combined in underlay mode to address power usage concerns. In underlay D2D communication, licensed frequency bands are utilized by both D2D and cellular connections;due to resource sharing, these bands may overlap, which lowers service quality but boosts spectral efficiency. Most existing research exclusively discuss energy efficiency (EE) in the context of single cells. This article has taken into account the entire cellular network with D2D connections on various bands, and stochastic geometric theory has been used in order to obtain closed form expressions for the probability of successful transmission (STP), the average sum rate (ASR), and EE for D2D connection underlaid cellular networks over Nakagami-m fading channels. Results of simulations are used to validate analytical conclusions. Simulation results demonstrate that higher STP, higher ASR, and lower EE all result in enhanced system performance. In addition, as the shape parameter’s value m (Nakagami-m order) increases, the EE, ASR, and STP of D2D users improve, which enhances system performance. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Keeping track of time is regarded as an essential human behavior. The question of how the brain deals with temporal information remains a subject of scholarly debate. The current investigation aims to explore the mechanism underlying time perception by extracting fractal dimension from an electroencephalogram (EEG) signal and its frequency bands. To accomplish this, Higuchi’s fractal dimension was calculated for 42 healthy subjects’ electroencephalogram (EEG) signal and its sub-bands during the time perception task. The EEG signal was recorded from 19 channels. Subsequently, a statistical analysis was conducted to compare participants who underestimated versus those who overestimated the elapsed time and significantly different channels were presented. The findings suggest an elevated level of fractal dimensionality in persons who displayed a tendency to overestimate time. The EEG signal and Gamma rhythm emerged as the most distinguishing signals between the two cohorts. The contrast in fractal dimension between the two groups was predominantly apparent in the parietal and central channels. To summarize, an increased level of complexity is discernible in the EEG signal and high-frequency rhythms when there is an overestimation of temporal duration. It can be asserted that the employment of FD yields presents an exceptional approach to comprehending cerebral functionalities, notably temporal perception. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

This article has indicated optical coherent differential polarization (DP) 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) transceiver systems with free-space optical (FSO) channel in the presence of differential coding scheme. The optical coherent DP 16-QAM receiver executes the reverse process conversion of the optical signal into an electrical one that is detected to the users. The proposed optical coherent DP-16 QAM transceiver systems based FSO channel model with differential coding has been presented and compared with the previous model. However, the simulation results have confidence realization about the superiority of the proposed simulation model. Hence the proposed optical coherent DP-16 QAM transceiver systems simulation model with differential coding is verified and validated the enhancement performance based on simulation performance parameters. © 2024 Walter de Gruyter GmbH. The objective of this work is to carry out a study to determine which TCP DoS attacks affect the network performance of a power electronic device (PED). For the purpose of the study, an experimental network consisting of two parts, a modeled part (created by using GNS3) and a real part, is set up. The modeled part of the experimental network is used to 'attack' the tested PED in the real network. The attacking has been done with different TCP DoS attacks - TCP SYN, TCP ACK, TCP FIN and TCP RST flood attacks. The flooding has been performed using the Kali Linux tools. Additionally, round trip delay was measured and traffic monitoring was done in the real part of the network. © 2023 IEEE.
