This publication presents the application of simulation software to evaluation on the potential of for generating electricity in the area with air. It is shown the valuation of the effect of air quality on the opportunity of renewable energy source using, as well. Strong effects of poor air quality can be detected in town where human activities make pollution in various forms. The aim of the analysis was to examine the relationship between the amount of solar radiation reaching solar panels and air pollution from nature and human activities in the chosen location. Dependence between the experimental data and the amount theoretically calculated amount of energy were conducted by selected statistical correlation tests. The Matlab / Simulink software was used for calculations.

There are different types of human-wearable sensors which work on the inductance measurement principle: inductive coil sensors for heart activity monitoring, respiratory inductive plethysmographs, posture detectors, etc. The increase of sensitivity and reliability of these sensors is vital in different applications, including medical and recreational. Development of IoT and human-computer interaction technologies makes this demand more urgent. In this paper, we propose a novel inductance measurement method based on a couple of synchronized chaotic oscillators to solve the problem of small inductance changes detection. It is known that chaotic systems are very sensitive to parameters variation and therefore can be used to construct sensing devices. Our approach assumes the application of two oscillators: sensing and stable, and implements unidirectional synchronization. One of the oscillators contains a sensing coil as an inductive component of its circuit. Information about the measured parameter is obtained through the analysis of synchronization error between two oscillators. It is shown that this error grows faster than in the case of synchronized harmonic oscillators. Physical prototyping shows a high level of conformity between theory, simulation and experimentation. We can conclude that the proposed approach can be applied to the construction of human-wearable sensors, having high sensitivity and simple, cheap and reliable construction. © 2019 IEEE.

This publication presents the use of the acquisition of signals in a wind tunnel using the DasyLab system to assess the suitability of selected airfoils for the power industry and is a presentation of their aerodynamic characteristics. Research experiments were carried out using the MCCOMPUTING USB 1608G modular measuring system. The publication is a description of the air profile using a prepared measurement system that allows obtaining the characteristics: polar profile as well as drag coefficient and lift coefficient depending on the angle of attack. The influence of wing mechanization on the characteristics describing the profile is also presented. The comparison of the profile analysed is presented publication and the profiles were compared based on the polar profiles, drag and lift coefficients as a function of the angle of attack of the profile. The DasyLab software was used for measurements and analysis.

Memristor-based neuromorphic computation is an evolving paradigm suitable for creating compact and energy-efficient devices. In this paper, we explore the possibility of a memristor neuron to be used as a processing unit of a capacitive sensor. The bursting neuron of human neocortex is taken as a model under investigation. Simulation shows that the spiking behavior of the neuron changes notably as the capacitance varies and can be converted into a signal proportional to the capacitance. The developed sensor generates bursts with a frequency almost linearly proportional to the measured capacitance. The size of the linear section of the characteristic, as well as the burst frequency, are set by the input current of the neuron, for which, as shown in the work, the optimal value can be found. Thus, this neuron model is suitable for constructing a precise capacitive sensor with ultralow power consumption and miniature size when implemented using memristors. © 2019 IEEE.

The article analyzes the concept of process control at an industrial enterprise, ensuring the functional stability of technological processes. A novelty of the proposed model is the use of pseudo- inversion tools as an apparatus that provides the best solution of a system of algebraic equations, the parameters of which describe the technological process. The algorithm for the organization and planning of technological processes is offered. With the help of pseudo-inversion the control algorithm for functionally stable technological process of the production enterprise is constructed. © 2020 IEEE.

Decision support system for resource-saving control of extruders at multi-assortment productions of polymeric films

A decision support system (DSS) is described, which helps operators to solve the problem of resource-saving control of extruders of various types used in the production of multi-assortment packaging polymer films (PF). It includes an industrial data mining subsystem for predicting the state of extruders and film quality, a subsystem for evaluating the performance of extruders, an information subsystem, and a data visualization subsystem for building trends of controlled and calculated parameters, interfaces for the extruder operator, administrator and knowledge engineer. The results of testing according to the data of extruders produced by PF at factories in Russia and Germany confirmed the efficiency of the DSS. The use of DSS allows you to save the resource of extrusion equipment, increase the time periods between its stops, and reduce the repair time.

In this paper, we have obtained the ratio for the diffraction efficiency of the interaction of terahertz electromagnetic radiation and the acoustic wave, taking into account the absorption of both acoustic and electromagnetic waves. It also took into account the reflection of electromagnetic waves at the input and output surfaces of the lightsoundwire. Furthermore, requirements have been formed both for materials that can be used for the development of acousto-optic devices which can operate in the terahertz frequency range. We have evaluated the magnitude of the acousto-optic performance of devices based on oxide single crystals, which can operate in the sub-Terahertz frequency range.

Data mining system for predicting quality of polymeric films

A computer data mining system for predicting the quality of polymer films in international, large-scale and multi-assortment industries is described. This article presents a library of statistical and data mining methods that allows, using statistical tests, to test data for distribution normality, predict the quality of polymer film materials for various line configurations and different types of film and includes the following methods: recurrent neural networks, neural network with long short-term memory and convolutional neural network. Analysis of methods of predicting the quality of polymer films was carried out and an algorithm was developed that allows selecting the most appropriate method for predicting the quality of polymer films based on the type of film, line configuration and requirements for film quality. The system includes interfaces that display trends in the process characteristics of the process class. The system was tested using the example of industrial data of the corporation on production of polymer film in plants of Russia and Germany.

A computer system of vibration analysis has been developed to evaluate the operability of extrusion equipment. The computer system allows you to timely identify an abnormal situation associated with increased vibration of the extruder screw drive, determine its true cause and form recommendations to the production staff for troubleshooting. The computer system is configured for various types and geometric parameters of extruders used in the extrusion and extrusion-calender production of multi-assortment polymeric films. The algorithm for analyzing vibration signals includes the stages of obtaining the signal spectrum by applying a direct discrete Fourier transform and determining the faulty drive element as a result of analyzing the trend in the amplitudes of the signal harmonics at frequencies characteristic of various types of faulty elements. The computer system is integrated into a single quality control system for multi-assortment polymeric films. The results of testing according to the data of extruders of polymeric film production at plants in Russia and Germany confirmed the performance of the computer system. The use of a computer system allows you to save the life of the extrusion equipment, increase the time periods between its stops, and reduce the repair time.

Layerless Additive Manufacturing of Metal Alloy Lattices Using Immiscible-Interface Assisted Direct Metal Drawing

State-of-the-art metal alloy additive manufacturing (AM) techniques construct a three-dimensional structure through sintering or melting dry metal powders in a layer-by-layer fashion, which typically results in several AM-specific issues in the final structure, such as staircase effect, residual stress and highly-orientated microstructures. In this paper, we present a new extrusion-based metal AM process, named Immiscible-interface assisted Direct Metal Drawing (II-DMD), which fabricates metal alloy structures, in particular lattice structures, in a layerless manner. In the II-DMD process, metal lattice structures are fabricated by continuously extruding a metal colloidal suspension within a second immiscible matrix colloidal suspension. The shape of the metal colloidal suspension is stabilized due to the presence of an immiscible interface between the two colloidal suspension systems. Dense metal lattice structures can be achieved via post-consolidation of the self-stabilized metal-matrix systems, including liquid-phase drying and metal-phase sintering. The II-DMD process is presented and the immiscible-interface-assisted self-stabilization mechanism is studied. The post-consolidation processes are discussed. Several test cases were fabricated and characterized.
