Reconstruction of Discrete Sets from Four Projections: Strong Decomposability

In this paper we introduce the class of strongly decomposable discrete sets and give an efficient algorithm for reconstructing discrete sets of this class from four projections. It is also shown that every Q-convex set (along the set of directions {x, y}) consisting of several components is strongly decomposable. As a consequence of strong decomposability we get that in a subclass of hv-convex discrete sets the reconstruction from four projections can be solved in polynomial time. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. The plaint system is determinated upto a generator function. Choosing this function, we get the conjunctive, disjunctive (t-norm and t-conorm), aggregation (uni-norm) operators and all type of unary operators, i.e. negation, hedges, sharpness operators, even the membership (distending) function. Special case of the pliant systems is the Dombi operator. Pliant control system (PCS) is derived from the fuzzy control system by replacing their elements with pliant components. In this article we show that PCS much more efficient, compare to fuzzy control system. The number of the rules drastically decrease while the speed increases. ©2010 IEEE.

We introduce a novel representation for the graph colouring problem, called the Integer Merge Model, which aims to reduce the time complexity of graph colouring algorithms. Moreover, this model provides useful information to aid in the creation of heuristics that can make the colouring process even faster. It also serves as a compact definition for the description of graph colouring algorithms. To verify the potential of the model, we use it in the complete algorithm DSATUR, and in two version of an incomplete approximation algorithm;an evolutionary algorithm and the same evolutionary algorithm extended with guiding heuristics. Both theoretical and empirical results are provided investigation is performed to show an increase in the efficiency of solving graph colouring problems. Two problem suites were used for the empirical evidence: a set of practical problem instances and a set of hard problem instances from the phase transition. © 2006 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.

We give a new representation theorem of the negation based on the generator function of the strict operator. We study a certain class of strict monotone operators which build DeMorgan class with infinite negations. We show that the necessary and sufficient condition for this operator class is f c(x)fd(x) = 1;where fc(x) and fd(x) are the generator function of the conjunctive and disjunctive operators. In the second part of the article we examine the relationship between Dombi's aggregative operators, uninorms and strict, continuous t-norms and t-conorms. We show that the class of representable uninorms is equivalent to the class of those uninorms which are also aggregative operators. We give new representation theorems for strong negations, and discuss the correspondence between strong negations, aggregative operators and strict, continuous (logical) operators. We show that in this system the four operators (conjunction, disjunction, aggregation, negation) can be described using only one generator function. © 2010 IEEE.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) has become a basic non-invasive tool in diagnosing and following different types of eye diseases. This technique can produce high-resolution cross-sectional images of retinal layers. Outer retinal tubulation (ORT) is one of the detectable biomarker by SD-OCT. ORTs defined as hyporeflective, tubular structures with hyperreflective borders or reversed within the retina and appear in many retinal diseases, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Our aim is to develop an automatic method that can efficiently characterize ORT biomarker. Detection of this biomarker can be challenging because of its variable size, location, and reflectivity. In this paper, we present a fully convolutional U-Net based architecture to detect ORT. The proposed approach is evaluated using a dataset annotated by ophthalmologists. One of the main challenges was the limited amount of training data that we resolve with real-time augmentation during training and using nested cross-validation. Our method achieved near human performance reaching an overall object-based recall score of 0.847 and Dice score of 0.579 on the test set. © 2019 IEEE.

Single-image generative adversarial networks learn from the internal distribution of a single training example to generate variations of it, removing the need of a large dataset. In this paper we introduce SpecSinGAN, an unconditional generative architecture that takes a single one-shot sound effect (e.g., a footstep;a character jump) and produces novel variations of it, as if they were different takes from the same recording session. We explore the use of multi-channel spectrograms to train the model on the various layers that comprise a single sound effect. A listening study comparing our model to real recordings and to digital signal processing procedural audio models in terms of sound plausibility and variation revealed that SpecSinGAN is more plausible and varied than the procedural audio models considered, when using multi-channel spectrograms. Infocommunications is a new developing sector of the economy based on the integration of information and telecommunication technologies. In infocommunications, communication systems are used to transmit information of different nature to any distance. The unification of telecommunications and information technologies into a single industry of infocommunications is a global trend focused on developing a telecommunications network and expanding the number of global information services on its basis. The paper presents infocommunications as an evolving expansion of telecommunications with information processing and content management functions. A mathematical model of a real-world problem of determining the speed and quality of the information transmission within infocommunication systems is presented. It has the form of a multicriteria Euclidean combinatorial optimization problem. Approaches to the problem solution such as the Branch and Bound method, graph methods such as the directed structuring are recommended. The applicability of specific combinatorial optimization methods to solving the multicriteria problem is justified. © 2021 IEEE.

In this paper we present a Spiking Neural P system (SNP system) simulator based on graphics processing units (GPUs). In particular we implement the simulator using NVIDIA CUDA enabled GPUs. The massively parallel architecture of current GPUs is very suitable for the maximally parallel computations of SNP systems. We simulate a wider variety of SNP systems, after presenting a previous work on SNP system matrix representation which led to their simulation in GPUs, and the simulation algorithm included here. Finally, we compare and present the performance speedups of the CPU-GPU based simulator over the CPU only simulator. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
